  1. Atleast inside my Rs's tank lid(?) it says 98/95Ron wich I guess means that 98 is recomended eventhough 95 is ok. You can also see recomended tyre preassure. Am I the only one who has this sticker inside the tank lid?
  2. There is one Octavia Combi 4x4 turbo over here with an estimated 360bhp and 580nm:eek: I have heard rumours a 911 gt3 had some problems leaving it behind Hopefully I will get some pictures of it soon.
  3. Yes, I have XP installed and Java is enabled. What is XP SP1? I used the 35mm H&R springs so it should be 20mm lower than standard but when measuring before and after it seemed to get a little bit lower than that. Digicams are pretty cheap over here too. Ofcourse I had to buy a camera with lots of features I don't know how to use... yet Anyway, I'll send you some of my new pics. / Chrsitian
  4. Manny! Why do I only get red crosses on your website??? I can't get into the gallery:( Btw, I have taken some new pics of my car now that its lowered. Good excuse to buy a digital camera, huh?
  5. Great clips! All I know is I want one!!! NIce shopping car:D I think it can give the rest of the teams some competition.
  6. Atleast the CCV does not go to the MAF or airbox in the RS. And as you said oil from the CCV, I would imagine, would be just as bad for MAF as oil from an airfiter.
  7. I had the BMC/CDA-box but sold it before I tried it. Got an offer I couldn't refuse(200% profit =) and bought lowering kit instead, so I don't really know how it would work on the RS. Anyway, I found an interesting article about filters. Check out the filter from APEXi. I'm thinking of getting one but not sure... http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/index.html
  8. "VRS" sounds so stupid! Please say/write RSas it's supposed to What do you call the GTI in GB? LGTI? The M5? PM5? RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS
  9. Nope, didn't change/check geometry since no camber adjustment is possible. According to my friend and mechanic (who did most of the work) it's not necessary, and I trust him... I think Havn't managed to crack the sump yet:rolleyes:
  10. I found the passenger side front spring to be the worst to remove. Well, not the spring but the whole damper since the driveshaft hits the subframe when you lower down the supension. I took off the brake disc and loosened the driveshaft to be able to remove the damper. I think it was a little bit more work than I expected...
  11. V.A.G in Sweden does not aprove of any kind of performance modifications. In Sweden it's actually not legal to do any mod to your car if it's build in -98 or later. This means it is for example illegal to change the rear spoiler, exhaust, wheel dimensions etc. Nobody seems to care anyway Btw, there are atleast two seriously fast Octavia 4x4 Combis here in Sweden. One tuned by Mr Dahlb
  12. Absolutely not! I wouldn't dream of such a thing. Everybody makes mistakes but I don't have to rub it in Or do I... Actually, my point was that we now know what frontaxle weight is acurate for the RS(= >911kg) The Octavias with the greatest frontaxle weight, I guess, would be the Tdi models. PS. Notice that no V was even close to RS DS.
  13. Hmmm... I'm not really a big booty type of guy The bears are awake as well and says hello!
  14. The rear is a little bit lower with the standard springs as well. The "height ratio"(?) between front/back is still about the same as before but the overall height is lower. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here =)
  15. I will post some as soon as I have bought a camera
  16. Now it's done!!! The lowering springs are in place and I must say I'm pretty pleased with the result. Unfortunately the back is still a little bit lower than the front. With my highly unscientific measuring method the car now is aprox 25 /30mm lower(Front/back). The ride is also a little bit sportier than before. I hope it wont get to harsch when i change back to the 17" wheels(16" with winter tyres on now).
  17. Hehe, offcourse they exist but I just have to take it slower when going over them.Maybe they arent as high and "pionty" as they appear to be in Holland? As soon as I get my digicamera I can take some pictures of some swedish speedbumps, hehe  Though called RS it
  18. My configuration so far for "acceptable" sound quality in my Rs is as follows: JVC kd sh909 H.U with MP3-compability. Real aluminium front/face! Looks great!(Info/pictures) JVC 12cd-changer DLS 2way component set-up for the front( info/pictures) Stock speakres in the rear with tweeters disconected. In the trunk I just recently installed a small vented box(26l) with an Infinty Kappa Perfect 10.1 This 10 inch driver produces extremely tight and HiFI-like bass with great control and accuracy. A bonus is that it can do this obscenely loud Info/kappa To get this little sub to move some air(and it sure does) I use a pretty powerfull amp. It delivers actual 400wrms in 4ohm mono and 600wrms in 2ohms, mono. I must say I am pretty pleased with the overall sound quality but I do think the front doors should need some damping since they are not airtight for the front bass/midrange. This affects the reproducing of the lower frequencies negatively since the whole inside of the door acts as a "box" for the speaker. I apologize in advance if anything is misspelled or poorly described and if so... Sue me! ' Regards / Christian
  19. I have nerver heard of MAD and i must say that a company name like that doens't exactly help credability:rolleyes: However, I would suggest some of the more renowned manufacturers like H&R, Bilstein, Eibach or maybe
