  1. Where I live isn't known for big Skoda ownership, I've seen a couple of monte's and a fair few standard spec. Where my girlfriend lives in South Wales, I have always noticed seeing a LOT of fabias around - especially Monte Carlo's and vRS's. Not seen so many Mk3s as of yet.

I browse the skoda used car locator every couple of days and even the demos are with high asking prices. My mother traded her vRS in for an SE at a price of 12,990 and that was a TDI DSG. Only seen about 5 so far, I did see a silver SE L with black colour combo the other day which was quite nice.

  2. You'd probably be better off going to a garage with decent pricing. You could easily cut the bumper yourself but I believe the exhaust on the TDI's at least are all pointed downwards at the tip, so you'd want the tip cutting off and a new straight pipe with twin tips welding on.

vRS bumper wouldn't fit a Monte due to the lower bodykit. Well, it would fit. But it'd look a bit naff.

  3. Not sure why you can't stream via BT, mine works perfectly but I have seen other reports where some people don't get the track details displayed. Should just have to select BT Audio once it's paired. Have you tried un-pairing them? So maybe reset the pairing settings on your phone and also on the radio? I have an iPhone 6 btw so same operating system.

As for the maps, on the Amundsen the data is stored on its hard drive. I've heard somewhere that you can purchase an update CD/SD Card but also heard of it going wrong and becoming unusable. Personally I wouldn't worry about updates, mine has the latest and I've only had 1 instance where it has felt "lost".

  4. Ive gone against the better advice of most of you and bought a tdi pick her up monday

When i say ill do low mileage its because ill only use it two days a week when most of you are daily drives ive got a van for that and to go anywhere from here its either up or down a dual carriageway not town driving as is associated with low mileage, Hope the dpf doesnt come and bite me in the but now lol  :D

Is it a monte? Plenty of them around South Wales oddly enough! Might see you around my missus lives in Magor SW :)

  5. TDi from me  :peek:

Had a couple of DPF issues up to 10k miles but never since, its happy going round town for a week and then a short blast at the weekends. I do a 300 mile round trip once every fortnight and get about 48MPG with a heavy foot and 55-60 with a light foot. I preferred the grunt of the diesel compared to petrol :) drove both side by side at a dealer.

There was a month where I only ran it around town. Didn't have to fill it for 4 weeks   Oh, and try and find a Tech! The satnav and goodies are great and will give the car great value come resale or p/x etc.

  6. Cheers, I've got the TSI and quite fancy this on my grille (tsi lettering) I used your link to find one and have found this one, do you think it will do the job on a red Monte or look a little tacky? Honest answers I don't cry easily [emoji6] http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=331150456291&alt=web

Postage was from China. How about this? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251528762701

Surely worth a punt? I reckon it'll compliment the red aswell as the chrome/red compliments my black!

  7. The cruise control is fitted works great.

Faultless service from Sandicliffe Nottingham. While the car was there they did the normal dealer condition check inspection found a grumble from the front upper suspension bearings so just ordered the parts and replaced them under warranty.

I cant recommenced this dealer enough just a shame my local dealer to the same standard as Sandicliffe.

Might go to them if I want any dealer mods doing to my car. My car has just been for its second service at GL Derby, aswell as them not actioning some scratches they put on the car in the last service and re spraying the wheel they've added yet more scratches to the boot. After sales there is shocking.

  8. Hi Sam

Thanks for the tips. Is there any particular version of the Roomster I should be looking for, MK1 or MK2?

    Regards BB over in Branston

Both are fine - they're the same model, but there was a facelift in 2010 as there was with the Fabia too. Pre-facelift you're looking for trim level "2" or "3", post facelift you're best looking for either "SE" or more likely "Elegance".

    Branston near Lincoln?

Branston the area on the A38 side of the river trent. Home to the B&Q you'll see my car at 95% of the time between 11 and 8 most days lol!

  9. Nice. Do those wheels have a silver lip on the edge? My black edition wheels are all just one colour. Were there options on the wheels or something?

They're gigaro wheels as mainly used on the vRS, however a few of the later montes have been coming with them. Some can be play black, some can have the white rim etc..

  10. Been a long time since I've last posted on this. But this weekend had the chance to get on a dyno. Results from a Superchips remap...

That's definitely one of the higher gains I've seen for this engine in the Fabia I do know the yetis for instance can go higher. Unless your car wasn't standard?

How does it drive? And how much did you pay?
