Cheers for your reply Skoda Assist sent a Skoda Tech out and we discussed issues, then he connected his laptop and checked all the various sensors,temps, and working parameters and talked me through it all as he carried out checks,very much appreciated,all absolutely fine except EGR is registering values a gnats away from upper limits meaning any slight peak raises the fault and the problem I suffered New EGR fitted today at Independent garage and all will be ok

Started my 12 plate Octavia diesel this am, drove 40metres started to stutter and cutout,wouldn’t restart Parked for couple of hours and with a lot of winding on starter and strong smell of diesel it started, seems ok now, no lights on dash Is this possibly related toEGR at all??

My rear wiper needs to be coaxed into proper two strokes action by flicking stalk a number of times first strokes about two thirds of a full sweep then jerky till it decides to do a full single stroke back to start position occasionally it will work normally i.e. Two strokes but usually is jerky and works as above details can it be reset or is it a motor on the way out?

It's crazy I know but can the 6 disc head unit (Bolero) keep or fail to ejectcds? All six are in use but I'm convinced it's kept two of my discs inside and won't eject them! When someone stops laughing at this probably wild impossible idea I have could any help be offered please?

Can anyone advise please car serviced April/May time,long life VW 507 oil and new filter, covered about 4K since and service indicator spanner etc showing on info panel, surely not due any attention after full big service,all filters etc Can anyone tell me how to reset please

230 miles mainly motorway,fair amount of 50 limit through roadworks! Brimmed tank then just brimmed again 11.8litres/2.6 gallons works out at 88mpg!!!!can hardly beleive it but checked and rechecked figures and thats what I get.All this post software update about 6 weeks ago

I've read similar threads before and been a bit sceptical,usually run my Vrs on Tesco diesel but as the local Esso had diesel at 102 a litre it was a no brainer really. Went for a drive afterwards and thought "this feels lively" and it really is sharper and I suppose I'm now a believer in " better" fuels rather than supermarket.

Might get friend in trade to ring local Skoda dealer and try to get a steer from them, but dodgy antenna amp sounds favourite according to searching other threads Is there a hidden menu in the Bolero as others have mentioned in the Stream?

My Bolero seems to be having trouble holding onto signals, FM and AM, playing ok then loses signal and white noise, any ideas please

Whilst personally fully endorsing the correct and proper legal way of sorting out this terrible incident, there is of course another way...... Go to KF, find the Fitter who did the job incorrectly, unzip your fly and carefully position your man tackle in his ear and proceed to shoot him a new set of brains, it is self evident his original brain has long since gone AWOL!! Seriously though I hope you get this sorted, but like others I would have insisted car went to a Skoda dealer for a full inspection and repairs, all chargeable to KWik Fit.

I only get the three dashes on my readout- what am I doing wrong or how should it be set up to read, help please?

Occasionally when I brake, possibly a tad harder than a nice gentle stop, not talking wheel locking ABS working its socks off here, I get a sharp metallic cracking, knocking noise from the NSR as best I can tell on my Vrs. I mention Vrs because of the multilink rear axle maybe having something to do with it? Any ideas please?

Came home tonight and a white Scooby, big wing the works, tailed me down this stretch of dual carriageway at 48/49mph, wouldn't pass, he went round two islands twice to gap me then closed up again???, mind you it is the stretch of road the local idiots use to cruise, or to be more accurate race along!!!. The fact there is a High Court Injunction in place to stop just that seems to have escaped there limited observation powers, just hope that someone doesn't get killed while they play there games, I think we have had two up to yet.

Rebadging won't be the total answer, what about the obvious give away, the rear wing??? Round our area the sight of a VRs tends to slow everyone down generally as they are unsure if it's an unmarked Police car, mind you some of the slack jawed sods wearing their Burberry caps tend not to have enough nous to notice anything at all never mind a possible unmarked car waiting to pounce.

Possibly the striker plate needs adjusting inwards slightly, this will allow the door to pinch against the rubber a little bit tighter. Bearing in mind that you need to keep the door flush to the wing so you can't adjust it in big chunks, mind you really shouldn't need to.

Last few days I have noticed the rear wiper sort of drifting in slow motion across the window all of its accord...... It seems to take 3or 4 little jumps to complete the full sweep. Looks like a trip to Dealers. Is this similar to the symptoms other members may have suffered with their rear wipers?

Has anyone had probs registering and purchasing from the Heko website? I have tried till I am sick of trying. Anyone with an account who could help me order a top grille for my FL Octavia would be a real massive help, I can send them a cheque for the required amount , taking account Exchange rates, and when it was cleared into their account they could order the item for me delivered to my home address of course. I know this is a cockeyed way maybe but I can't think of any other, any advice very gratefully received,

When I use screen washers they stink inside the car like cat wee!!!!, always use concentrated screen wash additive and top up regularly. Any ideas why or how to get rid of this awful smell please.

Whatever our ages, the fact we all own Skodas proves our good taste, 58recently and still have my moments enjoying my Vrs

My car was from Skoda UK and reg is KY , bought from Dealers in Leamington Spa, 3K miles

Well work has its uses I suppose, but when things changed healthwise I had to retire,best days work I EVER did, just need to take care a bit more now but doing ok generally!Vrs was my retirement present, love watching the faces wondering whether they dare overtake/speed as around our neck of the woods the Constabulary use Vrs' as unmarked cars, saves on the speed cameras I suppose doing pretty well the same job lol
