  1. Yes number 10. There is no need to buy new arms !!! Polybush 44BD is what I renewed mine with. I started a thread about three weeks ago regarding this. Have a look for it. Superpro probably do some equivalent, but £45.00 for both sides as opposed to nearly £100 per side renewing arms before labour at a garage. It's a no brainier replacing the full arm !
  2. Is that the bush that adjusts camber ? The arm that seats the spring in ? If so no need to buy a full arm, polybush it for about £45 for both sides.
  3. I've got bilstein b8 shocks which are shorter and firmer than the bilstein b6 with -50mm H&R springs. My reason for this is that I didn't want coilovers as I didn't want the car dropped too low, I preferred the put it in and forget about it. The reason I mixed was for the extra Bit drop over the -30mm springs which will only drop a Vrs 15mm more as it's already lowered 15mm from standard Octavia's. My car sits about 30mm lower than standard suspension set up. Both are quality bits of kit that perform very well on road or track. Personally I wouldn't put cheap coilovers on. You get what you pay for ! Others will say that are ok but I couldn't see them outlasting a decent shock/spring setup. If you do go for coilovers buy quality low mileage secondhand. Mine were about £200-£250 to get fitted. Also you will need wheel alignment thereafter.
  4. Yep I would say it's slipping mate, time to spend lots of pennies !
  5. 18x8.5 on the front should be ok if et is around mid 40s. 225 on there will be stretched a little. 18x9.5 I'm not sure about as offset will play a big part for caliper clearance and tuck, 225 tyres on 9.5 ? Some serious stretch ! More info needed mate, I'm trying to get 19s fitted at 8.5j with 225s and a low offset of 32. They will have a wee bit of poke. Maybe someone else can clarify better !
  6. Ttrs and Rs3 calipers are the same. However RS3 disks will not fit due to a different offset. Ttrs disks are poor as they don't have left and right, one side cools and one stays hot. You will need calipers with uprated disks from elsewhere.
  7. Yeah form 1020 kg upwards. Not upto 1020kg they are for lighter cars 1.6 litre etc
  8. Yep as above, read his journal, interesting stuff, I nearly went that route !
  9. When my k04 and WMI goes on I should be looking at around 370-380 bhp. It will all be going in when I have the money for the LSD. I have just about every other mod except for big brakes. I think I will def need them
  10. Not forgetting suspension and brakes and decent tyres and uprated engine, gearbox and torque mounts.... Hope that hasn't put you off no point in whacking a k04 on without all the other upgrades ! Oh and an LSD and Remap to get it all running properly ! Haha
  11. An audi s3 intercooler will do the job and you could remove the air con to aid flow. You will need an uprated clutch and a 3" downpipe or full exhaust so that doesn't restrict flow either and HPFP internals and s3 injectors
  12. Well just thought I would add an update, poly bushes are in and car has been re-aligned all good ! Didn't fancy doing it in the drive so took it to my local Indy 1.5 hrs labour and vat. Total cost £130 fitted. Half what two new arms and labour would have cost ! I'm am also going to mention to anyone thinking of buying straight from Polybush in Wrexham DO NOT ! I rang them up direct and they charged me £59.97 for the bushes and delivery, which I thought was fine until I looked on eBay and could get the same bush made by them for £38.89 with free delivery !! Eh ? Work that out ! So I phoned them up to ask if they had over charged me by mistake ? The guy on the phone Colin told me they charge full RRP ! Eh I said, how come I can get the same item manufactured by yourselves over 25% cheaper elsewhere ? To which he gave a rather snotty reply and I put the phone down on him. Shop elsewhere boys Polybush are overpriced and have 0% customer skills in my opinion ! If I went to Skoda to buy a new car @20k then the garage next door was selling an identical car for £15k I know who I would buy from...****s
  13. Would it just be the fronts that need flaired ? Who could do this for me ? Seen some horrific vids on YouTube of people doing it D.I.Y with a baseball bat ! TBH I don't mind a wee bit poke and the tyre stretch will be very minimal so I might see if I can get some cheap or free 215/225/35/19s get them fitted and see what's what before I finish the wheels. My arch gap is currently 35/40mm and these rims are .5" wider. Anymore thoughts on this ?
  14. No air ride on mine mate, wasn't me !
  15. Yes mate I had thought about getting either both disc and wheel turned down a few mill on each but it's a bit extreme and expensive. If I was still working as a Toolmaker I could have done them on a lathe myself no problem.
  16. Yes mate 5x114,3 they fit with correct spigot rings and wobble bolts. Been on the car nearly a year with no problems
  17. They are these, not to everyone's taste but might pluck to do them red same as the car, a lad had a similar set up for sale a few weeks ago albeit a different brand Just something different from my zeniths or my matte anthracite 5 spokes !
  18. Yeah they were 19x9 these were 19x8.5 and I thought the rims I had on were et38 so I knew it would be close. At the end of the day I won't lose money on them which makes a change !
  19. Yeah I do agree with the 2 above comments things have got to be fit for purpose, but seeing as the 3 tyres I got with the rims were brand new, they alone were worth what I paid for the lot so thought I'd take a chance on them, and the fact that I've been after a set of those rims for a while made me more pig headed in thinking I could make them fit ! I will more than likely refurb put tyres back on and resell. Nothing ventured nothing gained do the saying goes !
  20. Yes mate it's on wooden chocks now lowered and under it's own weight. I've just read on the net that wheel poke can be upto 30mm but the tyres have to be within the bodywork ! Been viewing a few images online and didn't realise this has become a new big thing !
  21. Yeah got another 2 sets of wheels I could bang on for mot time !
  22. P.s car is on bilstein b8s and H&R -50 mm springs so arch gap is approx 35-40mm which will be approx the same with 215 or 225/35/19.
  23. I would prefer to pay for the damage myself, then go back to kwik-**** and wrap the wheel brace around the fitters head, no excuse for it what so ever
  24. Right lads I've picked up a set of 19's which I'm refurbishing and have just test fitted. They are 19x8.5 but a low offset of 32. I'm currently running lexus alloys at an offset of 42. They are 235/45/17 and sit nice and flush with the bodywork however when buying the 19's I couldn't remember what offset the 17's were. Anyway test fitted tonight and the rear rim pokes out past body work 5mm And the front pokes out about 7mm Was thinking of putting 215/35 or 225/35 as would give a bit stretch. I've checked on willtheyfit.com and the 225/35 will give a 3mm smaller difference on diameter but I'm worried about the rims actually poking past bodywork. I'm not really up on wheels but are these dangerous to run ? Any thoughts would be well appreciated, cheers Davey
