Hello citigo drivers out there, I wondered if anyone out there is 17-18 and drives a citigo?
-
I assume all Skoda models will have areas?
-
59Hopper I'll be hopefully taking a gazibo and you would be able to leave them with us? A helpful hand for a fellow citigo driver!

Any other citigo drivers off to the national meet this weekend then?

Hi everyone, just updated the PID to whatever the latest number was 7.14. something I think but I have a techy question for everyone. The standard layout on the PID I just don't find very helpful and I don't like it and I was wondering if it was possible to change all the software on it to look different? If that didn't make sense please correct me, I think its called a ROM or something? Anyone have any ideas?

Basically, I've had Mario for 3 months now. And I'm 18 so money is tightish, but can splash out a little. I've caught the mod bug and need things to do to it now!
Mods so far:
- Most lights on the car
- Boot floor
- Boot light
- Parcel shelf
- Tax disk holder
- Aerial
- Vinyl Stripes
- Wheels painted black
Planned Mods:
- Wind Deflectors
- Mud Flaps
- Body protection of sorts (Rear/Side of car)
- Sport Pedals (anyone know where to get these cheap?
- Maybe something audio related??
Basically has anyone got any other ideas that I can add or do to the car to make it a bit more unique? I'm thinking of doing some VCDS codes but need someone to do them as the local garage "doesn't know."
Also, I'm going for best in class at the national Skoda meet near Lincoln and I know competition from you guys will be tough, so I'm planning ahead
But basically what other mods can I do? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

If the only real niggles are the poor door having been badly sprayed and the dealer not being able to put on a stripe, then thats pretty decent
Actually, did they ever say what happened to the door that caused the colour change, or just tell you they would sort it out?
Nope never heard another things, lets just say Skoda Customer services were less than helpful and our local garage, well lets just say we wont be going again. PM for details but basically they're very, very bad at customer service or actually just about everything...

So it's been around 4 month since Mario arrived. The actual date will be the 14th as he arrived on valentines day. Since then it's been up and down with Mario. So I thought I'd post a quick review and some pics to share with you all.
First of all, I'm 18. I was looking for a car that was cheap to insure but also very fun to drive so the Citigo was an obvious choice. After being quoted around £550 for main driver and fully comp (which is amazingly cheap, thank you low crime area) I decided to place the order.
Now Mario arrived in February, where he was immediately sent back to have the stripe reapplied. You'd think the garage could put a stripe on and remember to cleans the car beforehand but apparently not. Anyway that was quickly sorted with almost no hassle at all. Also I changed all the front bulbs to MTEC and also the rest number plate light and indicators.
So for a month, Mario settled in nicely driving through Lincoln but also I've learned he's very nice to drive on motorways, especially with cruise control! He'll happily sit at "70" One of the great things I've noticed is that on the standard car there is a lot of noise from the rear wheel arches due to lack of liners. I opted for the adjustable boot floor and with the plastic mountings on the side of the wheel arch it dramatically reduces noise from the boot, a very good investment then as it also makes it far more practical and it's cheaper than liners!
One other quick thing is I've also fitted a bull clip and a black shoe lace to lift the parcel shelf, very very cheap and does the job!
No it's month two and Mario is going strong! However that was about to change. Since Mario arriving in February, it had been constant rain so I was yet to see him in the dry. The first time did, I got the shock of finding that when the sun was on the car, the drivers door was actually a different shade of red. Back to the garage then!
After two weeks in the body shop Mario was back and in all his glory, drivers door and all!
Since then, nothing bad has happened and he's going strong! Mario is a fully loaded elegance model with all the options apart from the sunset glass and the panoramic sun roof.
Overall then, he's a wonderful car and I've been very very happy with him! He's not without his flaws but overall would recommend a Citigo to anyone!
I thought I'd do a quick pro's and con's list and the I'll post some pictures!
Pros:
- Very economical
- Stylish
- Fun to drive
- Reliable
- Nippy around town but still good on the motorway.
- Quite cheap on insurance
- Spacious for a small car (transverse mounted engine so bigger cabin)
- Very easy to enjoy and love
Cons:
- No passenger window control on drivers side.
- PID shouts occasionally.
- Only one central locking key.
- Clutch click noise (been oiled by dealer)
One other quick thing, when my car went to the body shop I got a 60ps car and to be honest there isn't a massive difference when driving, however I felt that there was slightly more power needed to get moving from stop. Overall though not really a massive gap in performance.
So I hope you've all enjoyed this and if anyone has any questions, feel free to comment or PM me.

I have a quite non standard citigo so I find that I quite often get a lot of looks from Up and Mii drivers, although Mii's seem to be a lot rarer. I live in Lincoln but I've only had a few waves. If you're ever nearby, look out for this!

Right everyone, gotta a question for you all! I've had my Citigo for a few months now and since it arriving I've noticed the reception on the radio hasn't been great. The past few weeks however, it's just been shocking. I haven't changed anything, and I always listen to radio 1. I've changed frequencies and radio stations to check but it's still the same. And I haven't changed anything on the car or the routes I'm driving but it just seems it's hardly picking anything up. Air quality around the area also hasn't changed and I'm really stumped. Any ideas out there in the land of Skoda?

I was 17 when I bought my Citigo, however I bought a brand new fully loaded elegance! It cost me £12.5k and it has been worth every penny. My insurance is £700 and I've been driving just over a year now. I'd fully recommend it! I'm 18 now, pm me if you'd like any more details!
I'd just like to also point out to everyone on here saying it's gonna be damaged, I've been driving for 1 year 4 months and I haven't had a scratch, so it's not all bad buying a brand new car! And I wash it every other weekend and wouldn't dare have a messy car because I can't stand mess! So yeah not all 17/18 year olds are dangerous, bad drivers and messy. I'm not saying I'm an expert at all, but I'm certainly not messy.

Nice to hear some positive! Yeah will make sure they are!
-
I think we'll have to see closer to the time, although I believe Mario can carry all that! Otherwise I might have to sweat talk my parents to let me borrow the mk3 octavia estate!
-
I think we're more concerned about doing 400 miles in a car packed to the roof with stuff, tent, stove and chairs plus bags and other stuff. D'you think its possible?
-
Or has anyone got any advice or anything at all?
-
Right so me and two friends are off to Cornwall this summer for 10 days. I have a Citigo Elegance with 60/40 rear folding seats, and we need some advice. Has anyone actually taken their Citigo camping? Or on any long journeys for that matter? We are obviously taking camping supplies with us, but as for food we can always get that when we're down there. We live in Lincoln so we'd be doing close to 400 miles each way plus travelling when we're down there. We also want to take bikes. Has anyone got any advice and does anyone think what we've set is even possible?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks
