  1. If you open the tailgate you'll see how the shelf locates (I'm sure you've done this) and it's a matter of giving it thump with the flat of the hand each side and the shelf will detach (not forgetting the strings). Refitting, you put the rearmost cutouts onto the location lugs first, then the forward cutouts otherwise it's very difficult to fit. Hope that makes sense.
  2. Same here, the wife's Karoq has a solid shelf too.

    Parking light?

Having monitored it over a few days your diagnosis is spot on, it's the cornering light and is activated when pulling onto the driveway at home. Thanks for the info. 👍
  4. I had a similar issue with my 2013 Fabia Monte Carlo TDi. The radio reception was virtually nonexistent with the pattern part screen so I ended up badgering my insurance company to authorise a genuine part. The radio worked perfectly once the genuine screen was fitted. 👍

    Parking light?

The switch is most definitely in the 'auto' position. 👍

    Parking light?

No, I'm not sure, it was purely an assumption. However, I haven't stood and watched how long it takes to go out, if it even does. I think that'll be my next move. Thanks for the reply. 👍

    Parking light?

Because that defeats the object of Auto Lights if you have to keep using the switch. It simply hides the problem.

    Parking light?

Good point, I'll check it out. Thanks.
  9. Recently, the wife's '23 Sportline Karoq has recently started doing a random thing with the lights. The lights switch is always left selected to 'Auto', but sometimes (not always) when locking the car and the headlamps have gone out after their allotted time, the passenger side light (parking light?) stays on. The only way to turn it off is to start the engine again, select the lights to 'off', back to 'auto', and then lock the car again. Anyone have an idea what might be causing this please?
  10. I'm being a bit thick as I don't get the typo. 🤷‍♂️ Surely last month was the best time as it was 0% finance, and 25% off a service plan?

    Karoq pictures

We had an extended test drive in a Sportline prior to ordering one and whilst the overall ride was very good over the bumps, the road noise from the tyres was quite intrusive. From memory I think the test car was wearing Bridgestone rubber, but other makes may be better of course, or even worse. Anyway, I won't fret as it's the missus's car.
  12. The Missus has a Karoq on order and also isn't keen on the cheese graters so I've been tasked with finding an alternative. Centre caps and bolt covers seem the easiest solution, but are the centre caps 50mm on the 19" wheels like on the Octavia?
  13. The (projector) headlight coverage on my 2013 Monte used to be shocking, until I found out that they were set far too low, as received from the factory. My local Škoda dealer adjusted them (FOC) to the maximum height allowed for UK MOT purposes and now they're stunning! After nearly 4 years of ownership my biggest bugbear is the rubbish radio reception, but this may be due to living in the hilly Peak District.
  14. Seeing someone drive a Nissan Leaf, or a Prius. Saving the planet? I don't think so.
  15. Wow, you've got a vivid imagination, I'd never have got that!
  16. It now shows 9,000 miles and I do roughly 10,000 miles a year. I do drive fairly hard so I would assume variable servicing would be better? What really irks me is the fact that the dealership has taken it upon themselves to swap the scheduling without discussing it with me, or asking what my thoughts or requirements are. I suppose it's more a point of common courtesy.
  17. Surprise, surprise, no mention on the invoice of what type oil has been used. I'll be phoning them up today to find out what they think they were doing. Thanks GoneOffSKi.
  18. I've just had a third service on my 2013 diesel Monte and the 'Maintenance List' I've received states the following: "Service interval display: Recode to non-flexible type display (15,000 km / 1 year)" I take it this now means that I have fixed term servicing? I certainly didn't ask or instruct the garage to change this so am I within my rights to ask them to change back it as per factory setting and put the correct oil in the engine? In my service booklet the service code for my car is Q16 which is variable servicing, and this is what I require.
  19. Excuse my ignorance, but what's a MK 2 'pfl' ?
  20. Brake drums have been removed during the service and a clean bill of health issued. All shoes are apparently wearing evenly and the mechanisms checked, cleaned and lubed. Whilst I was at it I had the aircon serviced just in case we get a summer this year. You never know.......
  21. Good point, I mentioned the brake fluid change but didn't think to ask about if they're going to remove the drums. I'll do that when I take it in. Thanks for the nudge.
  22. That's exactly what's happening Friday during it's 3rd service.
