  1. What it comes down to is that I have done foreza 2 in the european region, and I want cars and discounts from other regions, inlucding some of the prize cars etc.

As far as I can see the only way to do this is to set up another useraccount on the xbox, then progress through the game, and then gift cars to my main account using the other profiles that i have, but as i only have 1 xbox then i have to be able to have 2 users on live at the same time. Or that is the cunning plan anyway.

  2. When and engineer looks at a car, they may give a little extra for declaired mods, ie alloy wheels, or factory options like sat nav, leather etc. as for colour and trim etc, thay might not have even seen the car themselves, alot work from a desk now and might not have any visual to go on, so no it wont make a differance.

At the end of the day any insurance company dealing with a claim wants it to cost as little as possible, and it is the job of the engineer to ensure that happens. The only time they will bother about car colour is when they have to paint it, if it is a particualy expensive paint, or particualy difficult paint to apply.

Unfortunatly I dont think you can argue rarity of the car based on colour with them either, if it was a special edition mayby. All i will say is try it, if you get the engineer on a good day, they may do someting for you, but it is now very much coming to the point with companies where they will make you an offer and you can take it or leave it, thats your chioce.

  3. What made me laugh is where in the ad they say that this compresses and cools the air, now unless im missing something, this is why people spend a lot of money on intercoolers for turbo and supercharged cars, because when you compress air it get hot, reducing density, reducing prformance.

Correct me if ive missed something, but that did it for me.

  4. Hope it all manages to get resolved soon. You may find that when the insurance look at it they may want to repair it, the problem is the milage will make it difficult to value. It also depends upon weather there is any chassis damage or engine, if it is just cosmetic then it, depends on the value they place on it as to what they will do.

Just incase it is written off though you should go and get the tax disk cause it is one of your possessions and it can be cashed in if and when it is written off.

  5. There are a lot of flood damaged cars out there at the moment. My dad is an insurance assessor and his company has instucted all their assesors that if a car has been submerged in water, ie parked up in a puddle, where water has gotten into the car, affecting interior, and or electrics, these are immediatly a cat B write off so as such they can be used for parts only. If however you were to hydrolock an engine (depending upon car value, cost to repair, etc) then it may be repaired, so long as the water hasn't got in to the car at any point. If it was to be demmed a write off it would probably come under a cat d or c which essentially means that with a engine swap it could go back on the road.

If it does come under a cat d or c, you should be able to take a cash in liu, and buy the car back, hopefully the deal would give you enough to pay off most of the finance, if not all, then its just weather you can afford to buy and fit a new engine.

  6. I had a ride in a friends 360 f1 spyder a few years back, and as Ferraris go it was crap I would say.

One of the biggest factors about buying one for me would be the noise, this one sounded like a sewing machine, and an electic one at that, it was pathetic unless you were going to take it to 7 grand plus everywhere. Then there was the flappy paddel gearbox that made you headbut the dash eveytime you changed gear, a truely monumental waste of money that car was.

Having said that I would imagine that with the manual box, and the challenge stradale exhaust (which sounds awsome) it would be a truely brilliant car, and probably worth every penny.

Most recently though I did get to drive one of the new BMW m3's what a car they are!!

They look amazing, they really have got the stiyling just right if you ask me, the V8 sounds like a pack of wild rabid dogs that want to come and tear you limb from limb, it is almost terrifying, and beatuiful at the same time.

I also like the way that when you boot one out of a corner, as the back starts to twich the active dampers tighen the outside of the car, an try to keep it level, a the traction control just takes the edge off the torque.

The clucth is as light as what you would find in a mini, the power is instant at all times, the gearbox has a nice feel to it, just like all bm's, but could possibly be better, it is a touch heavy and a touch long throw, but I could cope with it.

The biggest let down is the fact that when you are in one there is nothing special other than the typical M style clocks that you get in all M cars. All the seats, swithces are just like any other bm, and I think that they shoudl have done a bit to makeit a bit more different inside. Not a big thing but hey if im spending 50k plus on a car its the little things that can make the differance sometime.

  7. ok will do not going to be at 3 sisters til the sept 29th meeting though, the owner/driver is away in finland for the 2 lap meeting unfortunatly. I know he likes that layout, and i would like to see it in operation too, ah well mayby next year.

Just for referance, for you or anyone who happens to see us this is the mini im generally found by, scrubbing the tyres, fueling and other such basic stuff.

  8. I was going to suggest looking for an older passat, or a couple of my firends run older cars, ranging from a volvo 850, granada cosworth, sierra, etc, so on this basis they are reasonably cheap to run.

Personally i would trawl ebay and the local freeads, autotrader etc.

  9. No I was there for the sprint the other day, im generally found working on the red mini that usually dominates the road modified class. I got there courtasy of the BMW tow car we use.

I must say it was looking great, I would have had a closer look, but was short of time, and was a touch worried by being set upon by a big burly bloke thinking I was after his car.

  10. What an amazing machine. I always remember when they were running a class for them at hearwood hillclimb one weekend, they were running in the class in front of me, and I was sat a bit futher up the hill in the que waiting, watching these guys warm up the rear tyres etc. Anyway one of them whilst "warming" started to make some strange noises, closely followed by the car pulling forward leaving a dark line behind it. It was sounding really bad by now, upon the next jump forward it became obvious that it was the exhaust. Ok fair enough something has broken, but by the time it was fully pulled out it was the entire exhaust from manifold to back box that came out. Still cant imagine how that happened.
