  1. My SE L Executive did not come with heated washer nozzles, and having had experiences in winter with and without, I prefer to have my car fitted with them. Does anyone know of a retrofit guide and the part(s) to install? Thank you!
  2. Hi, That doesn't sound like a particularly good car to consider unless it's very cheap. I think there are enough of these cars around to let you be a bit choosey should you want. Thanks,
  3. Hi I’m about to install a Garmin Mini on my SE L Executive. Any recommended spare switched power sources in the fuse box? Thanks!
  4. Increasing the ride height may affect the rear axle geometry and induce uneven tyre wear? So the helper springs will make little difference to the ride height?
  5. I understand that the Superb Estate has relatively soft rear springs which can sag as soon as any weight is put in the car. My last estate had the Grayston rubber rings in the rear springs, and it worked well with no breakages in the 50k I had the car. Has anyone tried them with the Superb? Or what other solution / system is there available? Thanks!
  6. Hi Pagan-Image, Yes you're right, mine was actually the same as yours. In the end I had to cut open the bag and suck out the content as the silica was preventing the bottom of the bag compressing to pass the reservoir opening. I didn't want to rupture it by pulling too hard. I also found having an extra pair of hands very useful to steady the bag whilst I removed the silica content. Photographs below.
  7. My car has the bag but having felt it with my fingers it appears adhered at one end to the inside of the tank. Are they easy to remove if they’re adhered? Presumably I need to take the tank off in case the bag splits when I remove it so I don’t contaminate the coolant?
  8. I've now got my near 4 year old Superb 150 2.0 TDi, and it's been on the variable service plan since new (ex fleet vehicle). It's just passed 50k miles. I do 20-30k miles per annum. Am I best keeping it serviced on the variable or should I change to fixed? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
  10. Thanks Shugmo. That diagram you've shown aligns the timing belt with 5 years or 50k miles though, not 5 years and 140k miles?
  11. I'm struggling to find the definitive answer online. What is the timing belt change interval on the Superb 150 2.0 TDI? Thank you.
  12. Hi all, I'm due to collect a three year old Superb 150 diesel soon. I have read about there being a gel pack inside the coolant reservoir which is best being removed to prevent leaking into the coolant, but are there any other worthwhile preventative things for longevity when I first get the car? Thank you!
  13. Hi all, Thanks for the responses, very helpful. Thanks,
  14. Hi, Hoping anyone is able to help? Thanks!
  15. Hi, The Superb SEL Executive look like a good value buy at the moment with up to around 50,000 miles on them, so as I am looking to replace my current car these are up on the shortlist as on paper they tick many boxes. Below I've set out some queries which I hope someone might be able to help answer. Is there a buying guide on the internet somewhere for the third generation Superb? I would probably be going with the 2.0 TDi and most likely in 150 guise. I have read the 150 performs better in the mid range than the 190 - is this true? I have also read about people finding a throttle lag frustrating. Is this only affecting the DSG models or does it include the manual? How bad are the reported suspension squeaks and creaks, and are there any bushes prone to failure or wearing out at particular age/mileages? Thanks!
