  1. That's good to know. The pads with VAG stamped all over them had TRW on them too, so hopefully the ones fitted will be similar to factory part quality.
  2. Hi all, Thanks for the help with part numbers, ultimately sourced discs from VW dealer direct online and went with the TRW brake pads listed above. Thanks,
  3. Hi toot, Was a Renaultsport model.
  4. Hi Tyres correct pressure and fine. The symptoms are same as I have had on previous cars with one or more suspension parts wearing but not bad enough to make an obvious clunk. A previous car I had the front control arm ball joints were considered consumables and gave sloppy steering when worn every 30k miles or so.
  5. Hi My Superb mk3 has developed a bit of looseness / wandering when on the motorway. I have had this on cars before where it is things like front control arm ball joint or rear axle control arm etc. that required replacing. I have checked for any obvious play but can’t find any. Are there any particular components known to wear out first on these cars?
  6. Hi again, Sorry please disregard my last post.
  7. Thanks much appreciated. As there will be the inevitable postal delays over Christmas and I could do with fitting these parts before mid-Jan (car going to Europe and doing a few thousand miles), are parts available from Euro Car Parts / CarParts4Less the same standard as elsewhere (e.g. Autodoc, LLL etc.)?
  8. Also do we happen to know who made the pads and discs for Skoda / VW?
  9. Thanks. Why are there two part numbers for discs?
  10. Hi, Does anyone know the part numbers for replacement discs and pads on a 2017 Superb 2.0 TDi 150 Estate? Thanks!
  11. I run 17 inch for during winter with all season tyres fitted, ride is a lot softer and more compliant than the 18 inch rims with Primacy 4 tyres. Turn in isn't as good though but expect that's both combination of tread pattern and tyre compound rather than just additional sidewall flex.
  12. Hi, Yes gearbox input shaft on will remain spinning if you are in neutral with clutch pedal up. The gears on it just won't be engaged with the output. Unless it's very loud, my personal view would be just keep using it and it might never worsen. The only exception to this would be if it's an easy to access gear or bearing from a gearbox side case. Whether this applies to this gearbox I do not know.
  13. Hi, Sorry I wasn't very clear. My car has the soft springs 3Q0511115AK according to the build sheet I have, so wondered what the tow pack equipped cars had instead. I have ordered the Kilen 65126 3Q0511115M this evening so will install those and see how it goes. Thank you for the help.
  14. Thanks. Do we know which ones were fitted to cars with factory tow bars?
  15. Hi, Coming back to this, do we know what the difference in weight ratings translates into in kg for example? Would be good to get an idea of how big the difference is between the different weight ratings? Thanks,
  16. Further to my last message, I have just checked the official workshop manual for the Superb mk3 rear spring remove and refit. It appears that the official way is to let suspension hang and then spring compressors are sufficient to compress the spring and then remove and vice versa. Is this correct?
  17. Hi all, Can confirm no broken springs. Ride height difference on rear axle can be as much as 20mm now when parked level in a known level car park. Has anyone else experienced sagging springs on the Skoda Superb mk3? Thanks,
  18. Hi, My Superb is approaching 100k miles and I have now noticed there can sometimes be a ride height difference of around 10mm on one side compared to the other when parked. Other times it is level. This has been checked when parking in the same locations. No springs are broken. Has anyone experienced wear in the suspension which has caused this uneven ride height and can advise the most likely culprit? Or is this an anomaly which has probably always been there and I have only just noticed it? ie. With the soft suspension can the car end up lower on one side with just driver and then not fully return when the driver gets out the car?
  19. Hi To answer the question on who I use, it’s Vantage Skoda in Morecambe. Very good service and friendly staff.
  20. Yes retrofit but use timber battens fixed to be underside to work around not having the other components on the car.
  21. Hi My experience with my franchise dealer has been very good, and labour not dissimilar to the local VAG specialist same for parts. thanks,
  22. I agree with brake fluid change at set intervals. Absorbs moisture over time.
  23. Thanks! Cost is a lot more than anticipated 😬
  24. Mine have been lasting well. Car bought with full dealer service history at 50k miles and on over 90k and only now the discs are wearing near the markers and pads due replacement soon but will do that when the alert is triggered for pad wear. Dealer encouraged replacement until I asked whether the car has pad wear sensors. The rear discs had been changed just before I bought the car though so think they had probably become pitted rather than wore out.
