  1. That's the exact same eBay item I fitted on my pd140. The reason I fitted it was, the car suffered from the same hesitation that I suffered on my BLT Fabia VRS. This gasket completely eliminated the problem. It's more to do with acting as a restrictor for the amount of exhaust gas getting in to the egr valve I believe.

  2. How many miles has your car done? To me that sounds like a worn dual mass flywheel. What leads me to that is, I had a very similar sound on my old Fabia VRS. The problem is, I didn't replace it myself, I took it to unit 18 in Wolverton, so I can't really offer any further technical input. I could notice a very distinct change in the sound when operating the clutch pedal, and although I wasn't experiencing any clutch slip, unit 18 did feed back that the clutch was knackered as well. Car had done over 100k miles though with 6 previous owners.

This video on YouTube might add some value for reference.

  3. Basically I'm wondering if anyone one else is trying to utilise these on an Octavia MK2 FL.

The only LED's which throw me an error are the ones I use for the front side side lights.

The Philips error cancelling resistors work in terms of preventing a fault however the heat sink does get hot and I'm not massively happy on my thoughts on a potential long term mounting arrangement... inside the headlight module.

I've tested it for a short time and the heat sink isn't getting ridiculously hot to the point where you can't touch it and it would instantly melt anything that came in to contact with it, but it does get hot and I wouldn't want anything in permanent contact with it.

Have any other fellow Octavians used these Philips gadgets and if so, how have you mounted the heat sink?

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Dear all,

I have an abundance of laptop bags at home which I have accumulated over a period of time as I've transitioned from being agile at work, based out on test trains and now pretty much fixed in the office.

Needless to say my requirements for how much crap I need to cart around have dictated me buying new bags accordingly!

This bag although very functional, just can't quite accommodate everything I need anymore and it seems criminal that it is just sat in the wardrobe because it is a great bag and was bloody expensive!

It isn't "perfect" but it is very good condition minus the slight cosmetic blemishes shown in one of the photos.

There are no rips or tears, or areas of excessive wear. I reckon the bag has years left in it and it has also served me well on and off for 2+ years.

It comes with a sleeve which is of nice quality but would be more suited to an iPad I think rather than a laptop hence me never really using it.

And this is the picture where you can see the slight cosmetic blemishes, mainly on the stud decorations on the front. The fabric is of that which would fray if subjected to a lot of abrasion, the front isn't frayed but you can see some partial wear suffered from me commuting on the train.

I think my works and personal laptop are 14.5" and this bag accommodates that very comfortably.

Any questions or more photos please ask.

Looking for £20 delivered. That is posted via hermes which will come to just shy of £5 I think.

(You will notice these bags are well over priced when bought new, in the region of £70/80 last time I looked).

  5. Bloody hell, what a lovely looking motor. I didn't even know what one of these cars was until I saw this thread last night... and low and behold I had the pleasure of following one between jn 20 and 16 this morning on the M1! Was a maroon colour. I expected them to be much bigger in the flesh, was quite surprised how small and nimble looking it was.

  6. Yes but the cleaning product doesn't have the same lubricating properties as diesel I believe and there is a very big risk it will knacker your high pressure fuel pump when it's ran through the engine (as experienced by another member on here with a fabia 2).

Edd China never tells us that on the advert though does he!

Well not categorical, but makes interesting reading...
