I have just measured some 312mm pads on the bench and they are 65mmx160mmx20mm so all good for the 312mm calipers.

Personally I don't think you will go wrong with either, but I had no real problem with the OEM Galfer pads either, some do.

As the Pagid are a bit cheaper, nothing wrong with them, good pads. I prefer the ATE compound but we are talking semantics here. If it were me out of that choice I would go Brembo disks/ Pagid pads, you will have no problems.

Cool - thanks a lot for your help. Saved me buying 340mm stuff and having to return it.

Just put in 2016 diesel 2.0 (not your reg) and it will bring up all front options 288, 312 and 340. You want the 312x25mm front 272x10mm rear

and IMHO I would pick either ATE or Brembo disks, ATE pads.

I've found these - would you say that these would be correct?

There are no ATE pads suitable for 312 discs on there.

On the Brisky Facebook group I was warned to stay away from Brembo and go for Pagid. What would you advise if I can't get ATE pads?

If yours is a diesel vRS and 66 plate then I would say you should have the smaller 312mm disk. If you have a curved section to the caliper carrier then I think it is certain.

It can only be 312x25mm or 340x30mm should be easy to see without getting too technical. Tape measure up against the wheel should do.

Yeah I've just compared a pic to my old 63 VRS and the discs on the newer car are definitely smaller.

No idea what discs and pads to buy now then - the ones I get linked to on Euro Car Parts when posting my reg are all 340mm 😫😫😫

AFAIK the smaller disk was fitted from MY16 onwards (late 2015 so a 16 or 65 plate) Yours should have the 340mm disk. Cant see anyone downgrading.

It is easy to see without measuring as the 312mm caliper carrier is curved nearest the hub (follows shape of hub) and the 340mm caliper is straight. They can be the only possible sizes so will not need measuring to the mm, should be obvious between the 2 sizes

Hmm - that's thrown up a question on mine too then.

I am in the process of getting new discs and pads - mine is a 66 plate and Euro Car Parts are saying I need a 340mm disc. I've just looked and I have a curved caliper.

    Look at this page: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2015-753/6/

    The possible options are 1ZF, 1ZE, 1ZA, 1ZB or 1LG.

Sadly, this code is often not on the data sticker.  Did your live chat person not say during the chat? They must have discovered your code in order to know it wasn't a match with what they have?

    Try another chat?

The 2nd chat was a bit more helpful and said that the Brembo's should fit. The only thing that he couldn't advise on was the wear sensor. Obviously they are fitted to the current OE pads - not sure if they would be compatible with aftermarket ones though.

No he didn't tell me that it may not be on the sticker, nor did he tell me what the code actually is. I've phoned the dealer too but he just pointed me to Euro parts and said they have access to the VAG directory.

I will try another chat and see if I have any more luck.

    There's your problem right there.

Did their live chat person not tell you which parts are compatible?

He said that all they had in was rears and nothing for the front end. I assume that he is right - I just wanted to double-check on here incase somebody had fitted those Brembo's and found that they are compatible.

  8. Hi all

I've been discussing this briefly on the Brisky Facebook page but need a bit of info if possible. I need to replace my discs & pads on my O3 VRS and have spoken with my dealer who are quoting £243 for the parts.

The following Brembo parts are showing up as suitable when using the reg search on Euro Car parts. I then spoke with one of their team on live chat who said that they are not compatible due to the PR number not matching.

    Can anybody clear this up?

    https://bit.ly/2Rkc6nT - discs

    https://bit.ly/2ITdzO6 - pads

Once Euro have their 50% discount running again it will be around £159 all in, for what I assume to be better quality parts?

  9. Mines arrived yesterday as well and I am  very happy with it.

Trying to spot all the differences from my previous 2014 model is fun.

First surprise this morning was when the car spoke to me to tell me there was heavy traffic on one of the roads on my way in to work.

All the infotainment system seem slicker as well as the sat nav. Seems to have something similar to google maps now with the red line highlighting heavy traffic.

Amunsden Stereo sound better with a stronger bass! DAB Radio picked up a lot of the station graphics by default.

Maybe this is all something to do with the MIB1 - MIB2 thing?

The green illuminated switches are now white which I quite like and the door panel window switches look like they have new fonts/graphics?

On the downside yes the CD/MP3 slot has gone and the drawer under front passenger seat where I kept the service book has gone too.

Will try and get some pics up over the weekend.

Agree with all of your points here. I was coming from a 63 VRS and it just seems so much better all round.

The new screen is great and like you say the speakers seem better too. All round it just seems more refined.

I was expecting to have just bought the same car again and possibly be *slightly* underwhelmed but that isn't the case at all.

  10. Hi everyone,

I pick up my new O3 next Thursday. A Quartz Grey VRS Estate. It's a dealer order so doesn't have many options.

My current O3 has sunset glass so I was going to get the new ones tinted when the car arrives (there's a place local to me who are very good).

Does anybody know if the 'standard' glass in the back of the O3 has the little black dots running around the perimeter? (see picture).

I've had a previous car tinted and the film didn't take too well to the little black dots being on the window.

    Cheers all
