  1. So am set to carry out the elephant mod with catch can on my Vrs, but am stuck with buying something as simple as a blanking rubber grommet to blank he hole left in the intake system, was hoping that someone could post a link to an ebay item that would be perfect to blank out the hole, thanks.
  2. Best case scenario imo, is fit a FMIC before you start changing pipes, then silicon joints at all starting points, from intercooler, turbo and EGR or EGR delete pipe, then just one silicone joint in the middle. Its always a custom job obviously different inter coolers and mounts will result in different pipe work, any place that specialises in bending, welding alloy will be able to do it but if you can get the job done for any less than £200 inc both pipes, you are lucky, Darkside are custom building that kit like anyone else woudl have to do, assuming it comes with a mount, the cost probably breaks down like £250 for the intercooler £100 for the Mount £200 for the pipes realistically that's not going to be that easy to beat unless you dont mind extra silicone joins scatted around, without welding and custom bends, just using standard allow pipes and bends on a DIY your going to be looking at at around 3 or 4 silicone joins per pipe, and less joins less chance of boost leaks.
  3. Seriously mate ditch the idea of a replacement multi changer and join the 21th century and get a head unit that supports a ipod dock and do away with all CD's.
  4. This place offers a little bit more selection that the common ones you see http://www.car-body-kit.co.uk/skoda_fabia.html Personally I really like the Aero and the touring in there front bumper selection
  5. I think it looks great with the rest of the kit but would look stupid would the skirts and back, bumper to complete.
  6. It I was going for a full respray it would not come back one colour but instead a little something like this
  7. Final Verdict: 2x Toyo Tyres arrived today, cost me £116 for the pair as oppose to £196 Supplied and fitted from a tyre shop. Local had 2 quotes from local garages, first said £10 per wheel, second one said £5 per wheel both including balancing, had it done straight away at second garage. Was offered 2 options once job was complete ether pay an extra £2 per tyre to let them dispose of the tyres, or take tyres with me and dispose of them myself, took £2 option so total cost of fitting, balancing and disposal of tyres £7 per wheel, does prove the argument right about lack of balancing on DIY rendering DIY a wast of time when you can have a tyre fitted with balancing for the same price as what it cost to balance a wheel anyway. Leads me to conclude that the most cost effective was to buy branded new tyres is to buy them yourself and find a local garage willing to fit them and balance the wheel at such a competitive price.
  8. Can anyone provide a link to a tool that is suitable for removing and installing the rear bushes on the Fabia, thanks
  9. how do you rate bilsteins in that line up? I have the B12 kit been delivered today, but having seen these I am now starting to regret it, well least I can take some comfort in knowing the B12's where £200 cheaper.
  10. Does look like an impressive set http://www.meisterr.co.uk/vehicles/skoda/fabia-6y/#prettyPhoto
  11. post a pic of the damage, bumpers can be repaired more often than not but sometimes it a lot of work, sometimes more than its worth, so you would have to see the extent of the damage.
  12. Kenwood W6541U, you would be surprised how limited your options are when your looking for a head unit with septate mid-level and s-sub level control support set up within its interface, something you will only find on most Kedwood head units, other manufactures tend to overlook those features even on there high end range, hence Kenwood head units are the only real option if your going to had over full acoustic control to a high level amp and just use the head unit as an interface and dock for the i-pod.
  13. There is no way for us to tell because the new wheel could be various widths, you you will probably have to take it to a shop so they can look and see what the size is. but you problem is more likely going to be down to a tracking or suspension problem than its likely to be about your wheels.
  14. No Advise required here, am just showing off my ICE so you can stand in ore and see how its done Germany ICE Engineering Style. Imports used in this set-up Amp http://www.crutchfield.com/S-sKtK362cFcI/p_975A4B/Helix-Competition-A4-Black.html Cross Over Kit http://www.woofersetc.com/p-3598-rs-63-competition-helix-65-3-way-high-end-component-system.aspx Back Sub http://audiovisualworld.co.uk/jl-audio-jl-cp112-w0v2-12-sub-slot-port-box-12-300mm-preloaded-enclosure.html
  15. All the best ICE systems are Front stage set-ups with SUB back stage combos, so the advise about upgrading the front speaker is right up there, all you want to add to the back is a sub.
  16. So Quick Fit have god knows how many shop around the country and you can find some horror story's, I bet there are tons of garages that are a single site business and also have more than there fair share of horror stories, I do accept that with the big chains there are going to be good and bad shops around different places, same with Halfords, from my personal experience I would not touch the Halfords near me in Mansfield, but the one near me in Newark just so happens to be one of the Best places to go, for one this is where I have Free Suspension checks for one and as a token, sine I do a lot of work myself I buy supply like Oil and other thing like Tools from Halfords Stores partly because I am so happy with work on the garage side of there business. And it just so happens I have been helped out by the Quick Fit near me between Sutton and Mansfield on a couple of occasions, first Time around I was using alloy dust caps on my tyres (never again) then one day I came to take the dust cap off to check the pressure, cap was stuck ended up twisting the value right off, new value needed, started out back at the place where I purchased the tyres from only 6 months or so beforehand asking if they could change the value, I was willing to pay, was shoved right off and told to come back another day, went to Quick Fit and they did the job for Free, another time on my Girlfriends car she needed a new battery, I got her a battery from Halfords, came to fit it but the bolt that holds the battery clamped in place was so tight rusted in place I could not budge in fact the bolt was starting to round off before it was moving, the same Quick Fit got that bolt off with some much bigger breaker bar than I had access to and if I recall correctly was a snap on socket that ne warned me was ether going to break the bolt or do the job before he started, but he did it and again they did not charge. So in my personal experience my local quick fit is has not been bad at all, in fact I am going to need a 4 wheel alignment service myself next weekend when I am done fitting my new suspension, and since I just checked and it does so happen that Quick Fit do a Free suspension check and use Hunter System, thats exactly where I will be going to do the job, will be perfect to have then do the suspension check at the same time, and I feel confident that when I drive away my wheel wound fall off because i went to Quick Fit, but will be sure to let you know if it does.
  17. I already brought the Mondeo drop links so I hope they work all right, I thought that was the case with the bump stops but just wanted to be certain, first few parts arrived the other day so its getting quite exiting, just want to be sure that I have everything possible and worth while covered ready for next weekend, my car is having a big make over by the end of this year, once this is out of the way going to look into the exhaust and intake system.
  18. Have gone for everything I can think of so far I have Top Mounts Front and Rear Bushers for everything except the addition RARB already installed since I have no idea of what type or size to get for that bar since I inherited the upgrade, but what the hell will not bother with those. Drop Links for the MK1 Mondeo as recommended previously in this topic Spring mounts The one thing still on my rader that I am unsure about is Bump Stops, will the B12 kit need or benefit in any way from Bumstops?
  19. You could be right about this, at first glance it did seem like a great idea to save money but the need for balancing changes everything. When the tyres arrive I might just give my local garage a call and get a quote for Balancing alone and fitting + balancing, and if the difference is next to nothing which I think it could well turn out to be then the best lesson to learn from this topic could well be supply your own rubber for a garage to fit, but will just have to wait till next week to see what the saving could be, but one think I did learn from looking into this is not to let tyre shops supply the rubber whatever the outcome on fitting them yourself.
  20. That kit is a great price, I paid £12 just one a single fitting that fits the back callipers of my car, that kit is way better value though thinking in future terms when you swap cars. I use the same tool on the front also, even though its designed to wind back the back, it worth recall well on the front also if you just use one of the old pad as a press between the piston and the calliper wind back tool then just wind it back and it pushes the front piston back with ease, but looking at that kit you have everything you need for both front and back.
  21. they are the exact set I inherited when I brought my car My Car so you can see what they look like fitted
