A facelift of some sorts/or platform change.

OCU (onboard communications unit) and a new MIB3 I would dare say

    AdBlue

Are the rough changes I can see on a quick look.

    Very kind, thank you 👍

  2. Yeah, exactly my confusion when trying to establish a clear definition of the belt change.

Some top advice from everyone, as always, to just change it anyway.

out of interest what was the change/updates at 17my ?

  3. The warranty period here in snail land was only 2 years. As soon as it was out I switched to a local independent, run by 2 brothers, who are sensible rates, advise of any preventative stuff to do so I can decide whether to approve and do a thorough job on routine maintenance.

ill do both, tbh while they have it it won’t add a huge amount to the bill from à labour side.

They look after my Amarok pick up and when I needed a major service, diffs, transfer box, auto box etc they did a quality job.

  4. Thank you. Other tsi lumps with belts rather than chains appeared to be 5 years with various mileage equivalents.

We’ve covered 72k km and the French dealers close to us have given us a mixed bag of sneers from yes, the car is 6 years old to no you’ve covered chuff all mileage.

Hopeless. I’m getting to the point of just doing it regardless.

  5. Good evening clever people

I’ve searched high and low on here and through the net for the interval/mileage for replacing the cam belt.

    They yeti in question is a 2017 1.4tsi 150.

Thanks in advance and a very Happy New Year to you all

    Cheers Dave

  6. We have a 1.4 tsi 150 4x4. From full our predicted range fluctuates between 650 and 700km and we usually get just over 700km actual range to properly empty.

300 km is silly low even if you drove it like you stole it.

  7. Hi we live out on the French/German/Swiss border so regularly see some moody ice n snow. Plus we venture up into the Vosges Mountains over winter.

i ordered a set of tuv approved 16" steelies from an outfit in Germany with Goodyear ultragrip 8 winters pre fitted n balanced. Think they deliver to the U.K.

driving On uncleared roads thick ice is just remarkable. The yeti hasn't been stopped yet. Tight, steep hairpin turns going up and down with ease.

they are awesome on soaking wet roads too. I stick the summers back on mid April.

    winters every day for me.

  8. Afternoon all !

need your help. The self adhesive clear protective patches fitted in front of the rear wheel arch - where on earth can I order a genuine part on line ?

car had a repair to the offside rear door and the dealer has replaced it twice and made a proper pigs ear of it so I'm just going to replace it myself properly.

    thanks for your pointers.

best wishes to you and your families for an awesome Christmas.

    cheers Dave

  9. Built a 4.4m x 5.7m dunster house 44 mm double tongue n groove garage for the bikes, workshop n cider making room.

Brilliant piece of kit but a few observations.

Make sure you put a Dpc membrane under the lower perimeter frame or water just seeps in. I had a Dpc under the concrete base n then lifted the shed to install a Dpc under the frame.

Leave the doors n windows open for a few weeks to allow the base to fully dry.

Their exterior paint, the most expensive one is superb. Get it straight on.

Treat the interior walls n roof immediately with a preservative.

Being 44 mm you can screw anything to it.

Can't say any more other than brilliant.

  10. Placed my order here in France for a 1.4tsi 150 4x4 edition with a few factory options on october 26th picked it up yesterday after it arrived at the dealer the Tuesday after Xmas. Pretty quick.

  11. Well not strictly today but rode from the midlands to the Swiss border on Sunday. Broke the journey in London sat night to get an early shuttle Sunday am.

Home to hotel was 640 miles, thick fog on the m25 and Calais but otherwise dry and the last 100 mikes of a roads like an empty race track being Sunday.

The xr was staggeringly good and no comfort issues. New roadtec 01 tyres absolutely superb.

Done another 200 or so miles here in absolutely disgusting rain.

The driving and roads here are in a different league to the UK, with the exception of tar overbanding on the motorway.
