First off, apologies if the info is staring me in the face but I've had a search and can't find where to get hold of a disc with a newer firmware version so I can update my columbus to accept 7 digit post codes. I've just bought my car and I'm certain it's never had any update to either maps or firmware. It's a 2009 model and if I hold down set up then I don't get any info so I'm assuming it's the one of the earliest columbus units. Is there anywhere I can buy a disc to update the firmware? I've seen plenty of maps discs for sale on eBay but can't find the firmware. I've seen links to d/load and burn the files but I've tried in the last to update my old BMW maps this way and failed miserably! Thanks all :-)

Cheers guys, yes I've found the xenons impressive, nice even spread and very bright. The beam bending is pretty cool too, noticed it when driving down a country lane. Getting used to the DSG now, seems to suit my driving style (lazy!)

After about a 3 month search I've found the car I was looking for , a FL VRS CR170 DSG with Columbus and Xenons. It's the spec I was after but it hasn't been cherished so needs plenty of TLC which I'll be doing over the next few months. First up is a damn good clean inside and out, too many spiders sharing the car with me.. Will then get a new bluetooth module that'll pair with my iphone. One pic for now but not had chance to start the deep clean yet!

Would a 3C8035730B do the same job as a D variant? I mean would it allow an iphone to connect via bluetooth ?

If you owe less than the car is worth then definitely sell and clear the finance , much better resolution than voluntary termination. On a side note, does it have a DSG gearbox ?

Looks like a great buy for someone. I would snap it up myself if I wasn't after a diesel DSG version. Good luck with the sale but sure you won't need it.

Hi all, I've been on the lookout for a decent VRS TDI DSG for a while now, looking on Autotrader, eBay and the Skoda approved used site in case one pops up in my budget. Is there anywhere else I should be checking? Looking for a hatch , ideally in blue and sensible mileage up to approx £7500. If anybody sees one on their travels please post it here! :-) Cheers, Nick

Hi all, I'm soon to be an Octavia vRS owner and i'm after a little help from you knowledgeable lot on here :-) The car i'm looking at has a sat nav unit fitted but looking at the factory fitted option list I can't see it on there , do any of these options translate as sat nav? The owner said he lost the disc and all it needs is a new disc to make it work but it rang alarm bells..
