I don't know about anyone else but in my last car i had my iPod in my glovebox so i could leave it there all the time and it was nice and hidden, so when i collected my VRS with mitsumi i was a little disappointed that i would have to plug and unplug my iPod all the time or push the cable into the phone box slider, i therefore decided i would find a way to route the cable to the glovebox.
I ordered the below items of a auction site:
Mitsumi cable (non-video) - £8.79
2 metre 30 pin extension cable - £2.99
I then planned my route to the glovebox which would mean going in-between the phone slider box in front of the gear stick then around the rear of the dash to the glovebox.
The hardest part of this was feeding the cable through whilst keeping the phone slider box closed, because the slider is curved and when pushed in would prevent you from pushing the cable through, or if you leave your fingers in the gap like i did and try and slide the slider closed you trap your fingers and end up swearing alone in your car a lot. To get round this i snapped a velvet covered hanger so i just had the long part and using black electrical tape i taped one of the ends of extension cable to the hanger, i then pushed this through the gap between the phone slider and the dash (using my free hand to apply light upwards pressure to the dash) once the majority of the hanger was through i reached behind the dash from the passenger footwell and slowly pulled the hanger through, i then pulled the majority of the cable through before again using black electrical tap, taped the extension cable to the mistsumi cable and then pulled the cable through till it was tight.
Once all the cable was through i fed it through the back of the glovebox and then into the glovebox tucking the rest of the excess cable behind the dash.
Job Done.
Not the most complex of things to do but i am now happy with my old school 30gb classic iPod in the glovebox with all my music good to go.
fyi if you don't use the hanger or something similair you will end up destroying your hand like i initially did.
something simple but hope it helps.
very small gap for the cable to go through, use the velvet covered hanger to prevent scratches to the dash. The phone box slider will still open and close once the cable is through
reach in here by the top right of the mat to grab the hanger as you push it through, open the passenger door and you won't need a arm like a contortionist.
Finished product into the glovebox ready to go.

My car is currently at skoda garage having had its passenger washer jet adjusted as like others on here it wouldn't retract properly, I mentioned the hissing noise and they said it was loud and compared it to a couple of other VRS's they had in the showroom and mine was a lot louder, they have sent a technical request report to the Skoda UK to see if anyone else is reporting this problem and what can be done they said they should hear something by tomorrow, I have to be honest I never noticed it until I read this thread. I will post their response when I get it.

Ok thanks, that's probably why I thought I didn't have it as I have been driving around on Eco all weekend.
Cheers for the help.

It has been discussed before and it's not deleted if you have canton as it's nothing to do with speakersinfotainment, it's a part in the engine bay.
Yours must be faulty.....
Ah the thread I found on here never really answered the question 100% I just re read it.
Can you turn the generator off in individual driving mode?

No, it has nothing to do with the speakers, separate box under the hood.
It is deleted if you spec the canton, either that or they forgot to add the sound generator to my TDI VRS

I was lucky I only had to wait two hours turned my two hour drive down the M1 into 4 but I didn't mind. Managed 52mpg all the way back from Mansfield to Hertfordshire which was nice.
You are correct about having 14 days to display but the car must be taxed, read the fine print of your insurance, a car must be taxed and carry a valid MoT or insurance we will technically invalidated.

I am currently sat at the dealers all ready to pick up my car, I can even see it outside, two hour drive this morning sold my car and then got a lift to the dealer, salesman comes out about 40 minutes ago saying there is a problem....DVLA website has crashed can't do the tax at the moment so i can't have the car, just have to sit here until the website is working again.
This is very very frustrating

I don't want to use my phone for my music and also don't like the cable being squashed into the phone box having to constantly plug and unplug it also allows me to navigate playlists and go to different sections of the iPod (audiobooks) without having to navigate them on my phone which you can't do via Bluetooth through the touch screen.
I have a iPhone 5s which if from what I have seen on here the lighting mitsumi cable costs a fortune mine cost me about a tenner.
This gives me the iPod in the glovebox with the cable disappearing into the dash making it almost impossible to see from the outside.
