elegance with sport pack pic?
pjp123 replied to tanto20's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Do you mean the lowered suspension and 18 inch wheels ? Thats what I have. The pic is not very good but the car looks sharp in the flesh -
Bought mine before then. Good idea to include them in the top model now...!!!!

They are really good on good roads...lol. Don't like potholes, but then what wheel /tyre combination does. Front near side had been curbed a few times now parking. They do look the business though...lol

Hi I had the same dilemma a while ago. I went for the Elegance and have not regretted it. Performance difference on the road is negligible, The road tax on the Elegance is £30 pa .Mine has privacy glass and sports suspension and 18 inch wheels as factory options. Also as I use it for work ( plumbing & heating ) I wanted folding mirrors. They are not available on the vrs. Insurance is about £200 pa. Mine is an auto 2.0L diesel and I get between 40 and 45mpg loaded up around town. I am very please with this. Have seen 50+mpg two up with no tools on a run.

Real world MPG for 2.0 TDI CR Octavia Combi
pjp123 replied to moley's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Mine is full of plumbing gear. I get an average of 40mpg. This is stop start going from job to job. Without the tools going to the coast for the day say, I can get 50mpg. It is a 2L DSG TDI. I am happy with these figures. You should not believe the press. -

Space saver wheel for VRS as dealer accessory
pjp123 replied to Farsider's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi I have 18 inch wheels on my elegance , are they the same as standard wheels on a VRS ?? My part numbers are..... Full size spare on steel wheel part no 5Q0601011B Jack ect. part no SE0093860 Pete -
Hi 2.0L Elegance estate DSG full of plumbing tools, getting average 45 mpg. On a long run have seen 50 mpg. I am happy with these results. ( 18K miles on the clock ) Manufacturers claims are always out. It is a game they play with each other and the paying public get sucked in along the way.

Hi Yes this is happening to mine. they are the plastic covers. I suspect it it wheel cleaner that is doing this. pete

thoughts about 2.0 TDI Elegance estate one week on
pjp123 replied to pipsyp's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi Had my estate Elegance for about 3 months now. Bought it for work to replace jeep Grand Cherokee. Its great, 44 to 48 mpg with work gear loaded all the time. Looks good with 18 inch wheels and sports suspension. Definitely the best value for money at the moment. looked at lots of options and this was the best value, looks, performance package. Road tax £30 per year. Insurance with every option available £285.00 I am surprised how fast the TDi is, only about 0.5 sec slower than a VRS I will get the headlamp washer altered in the vcds, uses water like a water cannon !!!. Also auto dim on the lights could work at a lower speed. I believe this too can be adjusted. -
Comparing Octavia against other cars
pjp123 replied to TonyD's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I went to look at a BMW estate before I bought my octavia All the nice ones were about £10k more, and you didnt get much more than an elegance or VRS. New ones with all the kit were nearly £40K... !!!!! I might buy some of there shares, they must make a fantastic profit each year -
DAB radio - screen logo query

Did the download logo thing...worked great -
This is one of the reasons i bought an Elegance estate. Lots of narrow lanes where I live. Also the 0 to 60 is only about half a second slower, hardly noticeable in normal driving. insurance is cheaper £280 for me and girlfriend. Road tax £30.00 a year. I would have liked front assist but they took it of the Elegance without notice. Not sure if the VSR still comes with it. The car has 18inch wheels and sports suspension and I think it looks great, but not too boy racer

I have an Elegance with sports suspension and 18 inch wheels. The ride is firm, but a friend has a BMW with M suspension and he says that the Octy is softer. I came from driving a grand cherokee, so anything seems hard but it does look good lowered and with 18 inch wheels. Drives well on nice A roads, but loud and bumpy on the less well maintained roads, I have never driven a standard Octy so cant comment on that.

Octavia Elegance - couple of spec questions
pjp123 replied to pipsyp's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hi I have a july /2013 registered octavia estate dsg tdi elegance. According to the August brochure Front assist is standard, not sure about current spec. Call SUK possibly. Standard mirrors fold when you lock the car and the have little lights on the underside. No leds on the door handles but there is soft lighting on the centre consul at night. No footwell or vanity mirror lights. -

Sheldon.Cooper did you use windows to copy the card ? How many files did it show ? -
I Could not decide on which to buy. The Suburb is not that much bigger on paper but feels a lot bigger to drive and park. The superb is about 200kg heavier too. Lower mpg and more car tax. The MkIII has a sportier feel and is a much more nimble car. I needed one for work and in the end bought a MK III. the estate boot is massive and only 30L smaller than the boot in the Superb. The MKIII is based on the latest VAG platform so everything on the car is the latest technology. I am getting 56/57 true mpg on the last two fills. That is with a boot full of tools too. Running late today I drove about 50 miles on a dual carriageway / A-roads VERY fast and still got 52mpg. I think if you want a car for sundays only then get a Superb, for the rest of the week The MKIII wins hands down. Pete
