  1. Its a TDI, 10 years old, belt changed by dealer at 5 years 40,000 mile it is now 10 years old with 80,000
  2. Skoda now recommends 140,000 mile interval for cam belt replacement as of bulletin July 23. I questioned them on this and they confirmed. I raised the question what if the belt breaks before that? They replied to follow the service schedule for the vehicle as per the handbook ( that says every five years) it is the owners responsibilty. So thats it then as clear as old sump oil, what does everyone think?
  3. Thanks for that, Amazon sell them
  4. Hi All Yeti 2.00 TDI I need help in removing the caps on my glow plugs, they seem very tight and I don't want to force, any ideas. Image attached
  5. Rated The Maxxis AP2 all-season passenger car tyre was rated in fourth place in a series of performance tests recently carried out by Auto Express magazine. Maxxis scored an average of 95.4 per cent over a total of 14 disciplines, surpassing the score of comparative tyres from the likes of global giants Pirelli and Bridgestone.
  6. Cross climates are a generic name for all weather tyres, like I said Maxxis AP2 All Seasons
  7. Mine are Maxxis AP2 All Season, bought from Hexham Tyre and Battery
  8. Just had some Maxxis cross climates fitted. First impression was the lack of road noise from the tyres, the wet grip is very good, so is the dry, yet to try winter weather. Autocar rates them well too. I paid £320 for all four fitted
  9. Just had yeti Mot'd and tester found emu dash light on. He ran a diagnostic and found the following: P067200 , which I believe has to do with the glowplugs P068A00, ECM PCM power relay U140A00, Term 30 open circuit Can anyone enlighten me in detail and are they all easily fixed without resorting to a garage? Thank you
  10. I have just bought the official workshop manual for my 2013 Yeti. I cannot seem to understand a couple of things 1. The pages all refer to Yeti 2010> Yeti 2011>. Does this mean 2010 onwards and 2011 onwards? 2. I keep seeing things like "vehicle up to MY 2011 and "vehicle as of MY 2011". Does MY mean manufacturing year or something else? 3. Also vehicles up to CW 21/2013 keep being mentioned. What does CW 21/2013 mean? Thanks anyone
  11. Bought a Transcend cam for Yeti v impressed then two more for other vehicles, not cheap but faultless even the police were impressed by the quality of the video taken after swerving to miss a nicked car, you can even see the eye colour of the nerds in the nicked car.
  12. You need to clean the door seals first as you may have silicon polish on them, my old octy used to do it. I bought a cleaner and lubricator from a BMW dealer and it did the job.
  13. Probably because the dealer also refused to reprogram the ECU after he fitted a Westfalia tow bar and harness, telling me it was not needed, until proved wrong by myself and by Skoda UK, after hours of trying to talk sense to the dealer. That's why Skoda UK gave me compensation for the incompetence shown by the dealer and the fact that I was towing a caravan without the vehicle being aware that the van was attached.....dangerous. Probably because they also could not or would not tell me how to zero my oil change reminder, until I told them how to do it. Probably because they said a computer was needed to zero my inspection service reminder, until I told them how to do it from the dash. Probably because they refused to clarify that the diesel cheat rectification work would have no adverse effect on the vehicle (obviously they were well aware of the Which reports on the subject). Probably because they wanted to rip the engine out of a brand new vehicle, because they said the turbo was rattling, this took three visits to workshop, until I found out it was a loose bracket in the engine bay and fixed it myself. Probably because they tried to sting me for £600+ to renew all of the brakes on a 16 month old 10K mileage vehicle, when the work actually cost me £180 to renew everything with Bosch parts. Give me Haynes manual (not available) and VCDS software and I could run rings around them. Or swap my Yeti for a user maintenance friendly Land Rover Defender. By the way I am a qualified engineering professional not someone who can't tell a screwdriver from a spanner. I am not asking for what was done but what may need doing at specific mileages in the future............simples. But I suppose they need to pay for their lavish showrooms some how.
