  1. Hmm, would I change to the City version if that was a problem?
  2. I was on Plan C as well : 15 year old (from new) Vectra 2.5 V6. When I ordered the Yeti it had 12 months MoT but since then is a reluctant starter. Some days it was first time, others it was never. Now it doesn't go out to avoid leaving me stranded and is not going to reach 100,000 miles. So Plan D is my wife's 17 year old car - and that's the age of the car, not my wife. i think the difference between the "be patient" and the "frustrated and moaning" depends on whether you are currently driving a Yeti or waiting for one.
  3. I can't see my dealer being willing to do that. Luckily i work from home so my wife's old car is probably enough, but if I had to drive a fair distance to work each day, something would have to be done. But if the car does pack up, I had wondered about buying one of the older used vehicles from the dealer and then p/exing it as the Yeti deposit. Hopefully the depreciation would not be too much for such a vehicle.
  4. Didn't even know what KESSY was until I came here - definitely not on my option list.
  5. Oh no - well at least you were possibly forewarned but doesn't make it feel any better - sorry :( On another (!) Yeti website, 1.2 Elegance moved from week 49 to Week 6 (ordered in August) - another possible cancellation. Right, I'm off to buy a "What Car" tomorrow to see what's changed in the last few months - not feeling optimistic any more
  6. I haven't sold my previous car - no value and it's become so unreliable that I don't take it out. Next stop for it is the scrapyard. So we are now reliant on my wife's car - that option seemed ok after we ordered the pre-F/L Yeti since it would have been arriving soon. But the bump to F/L version added delays (Week 51) and now who knows when? Like someone else suggested, had I been told it would take 7 months from order to start of build (not delivery - what's that another 3 or so weeks?) I would have walked away. It's not the "I want it now" mentality suggested by hmibennett but the expectation of Skoda keeping to some sort of agreed schedule. if you knew it was a 6 month wait and accepted that, fair enough. I didn't and hence my annoyance. Now I'm kind of hooked but if April is the real build date, I can't wait that long - did I mention my wife's car is not likely to last that long - it is 17 years old and the Yeti was intended to replace both.
  7. They haven't said anything yet - seem as bemused as me. Hence a man has gone to investigate. Will update when I know more.
  8. Skoda UK are now on the case so maybe things will get sorted - at least I'm more optimistic than via the dealer. This morning's conversation indicated concern that his had happened and I've been given the case number. But what if I hadn't rung the dealer yesterday? When would someon ehave told me? My order is for Cappuccino Beige, 1.2 TSI SE Manual. But I'm happy to go to Jungle Green if that is the problem. What? I considered the other Yeti options and test drove a 2.0 diesel on the same day as the petrol - budget wasn't a constraint. But after 40+ years of driving petrol, I couldn't cope with the obvious extra engine noise. I certainly don't need a 4x4 given my driving locations. The SE gave me the standard options I wanted and an automatic gearbox would have been a new venture.
  9. Just me so far - would the colour choice make a difference, eg a less popular colour gets delayed? If so, I would change that!
  10. Might just be me! Maybe they misestimated production in the week before Christmas
  11. "Just spoke to my dealer and my F/L Yeti 1.2SE has moved from Week 51 build date to Week 14 (that's first week in April) . No one seems to know why yet but 7 months from order to build seems excessive! Dealer chasing up with Skoda. Just hope existing car keeps going that long." Above is my post that Truthseeker refers to - sorry didn't think about starting a new thread! The dealer said that they have "raised a case" with Skoda but I don't know if that will fix anything. Tried to ring Skoda myself today but got cut off - I'll try again tomorrow. At least I have the SLU number now - tried it in "Track my Skoda" just to see what that revealed even though not ordered from them: "Your order is currently awaiting a manufacturing build date."

  13. QQ was on my list when I bought my Yeti. One simple reason for discounting the old QQ: rear door doesn't open as high as competition so I banged my head walking towards the rear (I'm 6'4"). Even the salesman admitted he had done this but apparently you don't do it more than once! Had to go around all the other contenders again to see if I had missed that problem but no the QQ was the only one. Such things help make the decisions. Quite liked it but the permanent headache was going to be a downer.
  14. Dealer still not talking to me - just as well I spoke to Skoda!
  15. Ordered pre-FL and relative to the new price I got 12.5% discount PLUS 0% finance. But there was a screw up with pricing at the dealers which they honoured which accounts for that. I didn't push for any more
  16. Thanks for that explanation - probably explains why Truthseeker has a build slot a week earlier than me but ordered 1 month later
  17. Yet another graduate of University between 67 and 72 and had a beard for most of that time. Stupidly I shaved it off when I got married and then promptly regrew it so the wedding photos are uncharacteristic! In my youth it prevented "stubble trouble" with the ladies - now shaving would seem a chore.
  18. Seeing the colour for real on a car made our choice (well ok, her choice). It may have been on a Rapid but Cappuccino is what we are going with. There was Mucovado, dark blue, black and white Yetis but none impressed. As someone has mentioned red did seem a little PO van in the configurator, but since seen one on the road and looks fine.
  19. Yes on a Talbot Horizon - that was a long time ago.
  20. Sent in a question via the Skoda UK website today. A very nice gentleman rang me back this afternoon (gobsmacked!). He was as surprised as you that I had no information. Anyway preliminary Week 51 build and an Outdoor version.
  21. I ordered a pre FL Yeti which has been rolled over to the new version - the only option then was a "Yeti" so trying to confirm which version I will get now there are two variants.
  22. I use this to work out Week number versus date: http://www.epochconverter.com/date-and-time/weeknumbers-by-year.php
  23. Phone call yesterday - still no build date! I even had comments about not sure if the Outdoor was an option. I pointed out same price so why not? Not sure what's going on but given the price I'm paying and with 0% finance, I'm going to grin and bear it.
  24. They are not starting the FL Yeti production until Week 45 so I'd be surprised if you were in that week. Particularly as I ordered mine 4 weeks earlier and have never heard about a build date yet.
  25. Never had a diesel car but was concerned about whether the 1.2TSI could pull a Yeti. Tried the petrol and diesel on consecutive test drives and for me the extra noise/vibration of the diesel decided it. So suggest test drive them both and then go away and decide. And do you do enough miles for the increased mpg to cover the additional cost of purchase and fuel? Ultimately the calculations will rule your head, the test drive might rule your heart.
