  1. Fitted and working 💥😁 Thanks everyone 👍
  2. If you want red callipers I had to buy ones labelled as Audi S1 quattro - otherwise I just ended up with grey ones. ie https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304303620320 Oh and get a pair, cheaper than buying one, then a few months later buying another 🙄
  3. I would keep an eye on your rear brake callipers. I had a handbrake lever that was in a similar state, and it eventually turned out to be a binding calliper. Had it replaced and after a few months it started again, and that was caused by the other side.
  4. Thanks for the advice, I've ordered this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175764623758 - was the only one I could find on ebay that was clearly from a VRS of the right age
  5. Hi, just after some advice. One of my neighbours kids has ridden his bike into the back of my car and broken the passenger side tail light. She's good for covering the cost of sorting it, but I don't want to stiff her for the cost of a main dealer fix given the car is 10 years old. I *think* (and happy to be corrected) that the part number is 5E9945111A, and searching the net, there seem to be a bunch of manufacturers for this part. Would these parts all be the same quality - they vary from £150 (for brands I've not heard of) to £300 for Hella I'll probably get a local independent garage to fit. Would I be just better off taking the car there and letting them do the whole thing, or should I source a part that I can ensure the quality of?
  6. I've got a sticking rear caliper which is stopping the handbrake lever from sitting back down fully. My local garage are struggling to locate a replacement caliper in red - they can get an unpainted one though. Are there any suppliers that have them in red, or should I be looking at getting one from a breaker, or getting them to procure a grey one and paint it? What do you folks recommend. I just can't deal with having an unmatched one, it would upset me far too much!
  7. Just driven the car today (Octavia III VRS TDI) and found the parking brake warning kept bonging even though it was released. It seems like the lever is not fully down, if I push down on it, it will go down about an inch and then spring back up. Anyone had this before, or got any suggestions before I take it to a garage to look at?
