TTS Short Shifter - 2.0 TFSI
frobe2002 replied to BigJakk's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I got one then I changed it for a cheap adjustable one off ebay with an even shorter shift -
Just to add I have a DV+ as well, don't know if it adds to the noise, don't think it will, just didn't want to have to keep replacing dv's. Wouldn't bother with a spacer, no performance gain and can throw up CEL, get a short shifter instead!

I got a neuspeed p-flo because the maf scaling is meant to be the best for the money, but I put an AEM Dryflow filter on the end because heard that the oiled types can clog the maf. Makes an awesome dump valve noise when you lift off too!

Definitely firmer but not uncomfortable, but I believe this is the "comfort" kit model 40260-1. The handling is so much better, it takes corners flat and the wheelspin/hop has all but gone too. As for speed bumps I haven't really taken any on, but I can't really see it being an issue, especially on a pre fl. It's only dropped by 35mm compared to standard vrs

Automatic boot - Completed
frobe2002 replied to MartinKaer's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Has anyone had any problems after installing the Laguna struts on the hatchback? -
The rear looks higher now than the original post
-
Have the rear springs settled down fully yet?
-
How does handling and comfort compare to normal vrs suspension?
-
There appears to be 2 options, the sport offers iirc 55mm drop at the front and 40mm at the rear
-
Did you put the sport kit or the comfort kit on?

Thinking of Buying a vRS
frobe2002 replied to ArcticBlue's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I bought a pre fl tfsi nearly a year ago. It's a good car, it's got good points and bad. A few components have failed, the dv and the pcv, both common, fairly easy and cheap to fix. It drinks a bit of oil too, but it's cheaper than the extra tax and petrol you'd spend on a WRX or focus st. For the money you won't get a better all round car. It's fairly good to drive, comfortable for long journeys and the boot is collosal. Knowing what I know now about this car I'd definitely get one again. -
Koni sport suspension kit
frobe2002 replied to frobe2002's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have read good things about b12 kit and also the b8 dampers on their own, but there seems to be a lot of good words for the koni yellows on gti forums but less so on here. I would do the arb first but I don't like the front end dive and lift either -
Has anyone tried the koni sport kit?

I've had my octy mk2 pre-fl tfsi for nearly a year now and I'm gonna do something about the handling. The body rolls way too much in the corners, but it also dives way to much under acceleration and braking and because it rides way to high, I know I wouldn't be happy just getting the rarb upgraded to a whiteline one. so after a bit of searching koni sport suspension kit with h&r 35mm springs seems to be a good solution but has anyone on here got this kit? how should the rears be set for a comfortable, but sporty and fairly flat cornering ride? I've seen some settings on gti forums but they don't have as much weight over the rear axle. I'm more concerned about the rear as I don't think they can be changed once they're on the car, but the fronts can
