Do I have a cover missing from my air intake? In the attached picture, what I'm referring to is in the bottom right corner, though you can only see about half of it. This is has been missing for some time, but due to my ignorance of such things, I have only just become aware that a cover might be missing. If if this is the case, should I be worried? Many thanks.

They definitely overfilled at the penultimate service. What you're describing re oil coming out from around where the cap sits is exactly what happened then. Will try to take pic during the week to show what it currently looks like as I'm not great at explaining things.

Because it appears that some has already seeped out through the cap. So at some point there's been too much in.

Recently had my 1.4 elegance serviced at a main dealer. I mentioned to them that during the previous service they'd overfilled the sump and a small amount of oil had escaped out the filler cap and onto the engine. They cleaned that up during the latest service, but I can see some fresh oil on the filler cap and when I check the dipstick it is right at max level. I'm going to call the garage in the morning, but should I be worried in the meantime? Could the excess oil have had an effect on anything? I'd be grateful for any advice.

Any idea what smell could be and how to stop it? It smells like sweaty socks. Last 2 air con services have only mildly improved it.

Anyone care to opine on the best pollen filter to buy when replacing? Bosch sell what they call anti-bacterial filters which may help the unpleasant smell which occasionally comes through my air vents shortly after having the air con on.

I've got a small road chip on the pillar between the windscreen and the driver door. Chip is about 3mm to 4mm in diameter and I'd say no more than 2mm deep. But there is rust in the chip. How should I treat it? Main concern is to stop the rust spreading.

Is there another filter (referred to as the cabin filter?) that is used by the ac system? If so, where is it? Really puzzled why the owner's manual doesn't tell you where the pollen filter is and how to change it.

Still getting the squeal. Someone recently told me that it could be the brake line in one of the callipers hitting the disc which moves up again once the car gets going and then moves back down when the car has been idle for a while. Does this sound feasible? Can I easily check to see if this is the case?

Still getting this squeal and it's getting worse. Anyone got any ideas? When the car was having an air con service yesterday, the garage did a health check and recommended having the rear brakes cleaned. But this is what another garage did in April and it didn't fix the squeal. Both garages are officially Skoda. Anyone got any ideas? Anything I can do to try to pinpoint the problem?

I took it to a local dealer. Young lady at service desk claims every air con service includes disinfecting the system (after initially looking puzzled and claiming she's never had anyone complain about smelly air con before). But when I got the invoice detailing what was carried out in the service, there was no mention of cleaning the system.

I did try Q-Bond, but it didn't work. I think the problem with Q-Bond is getting the powder to fill the crack, given the position of the broken part.

Can the bonnet support holder be purchased separately? Re the Toyota part, it split from the main panel.

Want to tape together the cracked bonnet support holder in my Octavia mk2 and also a part in my wife's Toyota for holding up the parcel shelf. What is the best tape to use for this?

I want to get my aircon cleaned out to remove suspected bacteria fro the system. Last time I asked my main dealer t do this, all they did was set off one of those aerosols in the interior. But what I want is for the system to be disinfected with the water-based solution (this is actually the official Skoda advice). Anyone recommend where I should get this done? Should I look for an independent specialist or try someone like Kwik Fit?
