For 12k, what a bargain. Did the SE have cruise and fogs then? If not, still a good buy.

VG point! *worried expression*
-
From experience, council highways departments are notoriously pedantic, quoting precise 'intervention criteria' whilst neglecting appalling surfaces, potholes etc. I genuinely hate them!
-
Thanks, ball rolling...

It's worth giving a little history of my car. It went from the manufacturer straight to a hire car company, then back to the manufacturer after doing the usual 10,000-12,000 miles. Then the dealer sourced it for me from the manufacturer.

I thought I'd covered everything but sadly not! I guess I felt reassured buying a v low mileage, nearly new car from a dealership...false sense of security!
-
Interesting responses so far, appreciated. I recently bought a car less than a year old and noticed signs the very same day that repairs had been carried out (legacy of bumper masking and spray overlap underneath). Surprised that the dealer's vigorous, multi-point inspection didn't reveal this........

When buying a used car from a dealer, I wonder if anyone can tell me what you're entitled to know regarding repaired accident damage? A data check can reveal if it has been written off, but how about finding out about less devastating damage? Thanks, AK67.

What model did you get, I can't remember you saying? SE 1.6TDi?
-
Like Mark I've never had the calculator out, but it's undoubtedly economical. I've only had my Rapid a few weeks but my previous Skoda, a 1.9TDi Octavia, could just about go from NE England to the Loire Valley on a single tank of diesel.
-
Sounds realistic to me. I do around 18k, plus a trip to the continent every other year.
-
David, with front seats edged forward today, I got a single bed base in my Rapid and could close the boot lid.
-
Thecko, what mileage would justify a new diesel engine in your view?
-
RichMitch, please say more about the TDi. Cheers.
-
David, another important plus point is Skodas holding their value well. ...and if you want to witness a poor quality trim, climb into a Kio Rio! I've had a Fabia from 2001, an Octavia from 2009, and a Rapid three weeks ago. A tad early to give feedback on the Rapid, but the Fabia and Octavia were fabulous cars.
-
I should have mentioned that I asked the dealer about this, the service manager, who said that Skoda is aware of it and don't regard it as a problem. Misting is only temporary.
-
I must admit, despite it being a good-looking car, the bonnet issue - subtle it might be - needs questions answering by the dealer.

...so the V5 shows "GreenTech" but the figures below are for a non-GreenTech. Bad luck mate! -
Can someone save me digging in the handbook and tell me why I get this warning on the MFD each time I switch off the engine? Cheers.
