I have checked the tyre pressures and one of the rear tyres was overinflated by the garage I bought the car from. It was over 3 bar instead of 2.2. As soon as I corrected this the car feels much better. Thanks all for your help. It seems problem sorted although yet again a Skoda dealer has shown how poor some of them can be.

I have tried the cable in the house and it works ok. I am going to buy a more expensive cig lighter charger and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi all. I have just taken my new ( to me) Superb out on the motorway and it seems to have a resonance at about 50. I would not really call it a vibration it is like when you open a window and the air resonates until you open a second window. I have checked tyre pressures and all ok but it is quite an annoying sensation. It makes your ears funny and ruins the smooth ride of the car. It seems better at 70 but you can still feel it. Any ides?

Socket works fine. Definitely not shorted as light on charger come on. Also tried all three sockets with the same result.

Tried two USB chargers and all three power points in the car. I am using a genuine lightning cable but no charge. I read on the web the phone needs more than 500 Ma does anyone no if this is correct.

Must be doing something wrong but my iPhone won't charge through a USB charger plugged into cig lighter. I use this in a mini countryman all the time but it won't work in the superb. Music plays through Bluetooth etc but the phone won't charge. Anybody help with this. Am I missing something obvious.

Yes it is. Don't think warranty will cover this just slight cosmetic issue

As far as I am aware it has not got hill hold. It was on a very flat drive when it happened

Just come home with my new superb estate driven 80miles no problem stopped on way home for a McDonald's and when I tried to reverse out the car struggled to move. It is a DSG and would not reverse but once I tried a couple of times it moved ok. Felt like the handbrake was sticking on possibly? Don't think it's a DSG problem but does anyone think this May be because the car has been sat on a forecourt for a few weeks. It,s two years old but I don't think it's run much for the past month.

The roof bars on my estate are starting to pit and mark. Does anyone know if they can be cleaned with anything. Also the chrome window trim is going in a similar way. Not had the car long so I don't know what the previous owner has done to cause this. Maybe used an unsuitable cleaning solution.

superb looks fantastic in white...but then again I am biased. I have just bought a white elegance estate.

Thanks Stuart. I use mine for work so I was considering adding an extended warranty. It was just a case of cost and if I should go with Skoda or an external insurance company.

Anyone took extended warranty from Skoda? I have just bought 2 year old elegance DSG and having heard so many horror stories about DSG I wondered if extending warranty was a good idea. Also if anyone has extended how much did it cost?.

Worst of it is dealers leave adds on Autotrader showing cars that when you enquire about them have "just" sold. But you look again a couple of weeks later and the adds are still there!!!

Thanks Kev. I phoned Johnsons for the 5th occasion this morning and I am still awaiting a response. Tomorrow I will directly phone the sales manager if I can get hold of him!!!! I would be tempted to cancel the deal altogether but just love the car I have seen and can't wait to pick it up.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I must have just got a poor dealer or salesman. I have been trying to buy the car from Johnsons in Birmingham. Will never use them again.

Are there any good Skoda dealers out there. I have been looking for a car for some time and left my details with a few dealerships of which only two came back to me. I finally found a car I like and have paid a deposit but need to confirm when the car can be collected. I have phoned the dealers on 4 occasions and they have taken messages but not once has the call been returned. Thankfully this is not my local dealer but it does give me concerns if I have a problem with the car what type of service I can expect. They have not even taken all my money off me yet and the dealer wont return calls, god knows what they will be like once I have paid them!!!!

Just bought a 12 plate 140 elegance DSG estate. Fantastic car. I looked at an Octavia VRS estate but once I drove the superb there was no going back. I pick it up on Saturday and I cant wait. I looked at both cars and fell for the size, comfort and all the toys. Go for it...

Just bought a 2012 elegance today. First thing I tried was connecting the iPhone 5 and it worked perfectly. The salesman reckoned iPhone 3 and earlier were a problem but not the newer phones.

Finally done it. I have bought a candy white 140bhp DSG elegance estate. two years old but absolutely spotless. really happy. I will be picking her up next Sunday...cant wait.

Latest update is I am now not going to see SE Plus as I have found out it is an ex rental car and this puts me off. Back on the look out for a DSG elegance estate. If any one sees one in Sandbach area under 3 years old (12 plate onwards), under 25,000 and about £16k let me know.
