  1. I have no idea how, but hours of me and another strong bloke wrestling under a ramp would not let it drop. But for the 15 minutes it took to drop the subframe, I won't do it any other way in the future.
  2. So... 12 hours and clutch Change is complete. For anyone trying at home, always remove the subframe first, a 15min job which would have saved me 6 hours. On on another note, when the gearbox dropped and I inspected the knackered clutch I found caked on clay-like grease all over the inside of the housing and on the flywheel teeth. Took ages to clean out! any ideas what this is?
  3. Help! 6 hours spent trying to drop the gearbox to replace clutch, 3 of which have been wrestling with the gearbox. Can it be done without removing subframe? Is this where I've been going wrong?
  4. Springs still available? If so what drop?
  5. Best looking super mini estate out there bud! I'm having one as soon as I find a good one. Yours lowered any?
  6. You're point is valid, a blessing is not what I need, but a few months of ticking over is. If one at £120 will fit then that's all I need to know. But don't.
  7. Sup! Its gotten to the stage now where she's unusable with the amount of clutch slip. 135k on original clutch. Im planning on changing it up this weekend, with help from a buddy but realistically I want to spend as little as possible. (Any spare change is going towards a fabia vrs estate) Having looked on eurocarparts the prices vary from £120-£385. What's the difference between them? I'm not replacing dmf, just clutch. 05 fabia vrs andy
  8. ive had my vrs for almost 3 years and been fairly happy with the pull. But now my mates all have various VAG engined hatches( paying £300 pm on finance) pumping out 150hp+. Wanting to show them that the scirocco isn't all that, I'm thinking about turning my Fabia into a little sleeper car, and a remap is top of my list. My question is that considering the mileage and the fact my car is worth less than £1500 is paying for a £300+ remap worth considerably more than a £170 map to get up to and around 160hp?
  9. Not a difficult job to fix. £10 on an amazon special soldering iron, some wore stripped from an old hoover in the garage. 1hr all in (removing and replacing the battery housing etc. And has lasted 2 years +. Poor design to begin with. If doing DIY, add length when repairing.
  10. Looks like the common demoninator is screws. Well at least ill have only wasted £14 when my taped on lip flys off on the m62.
  11. Looks great mate! Such an easy mod for big impact. EZ lip seems the same lip size as rhino lip but comes in £14. A lot of the reviews ive read about rhino lip say it adheres better, what does it use? I suppose you get what you pay for
  12. I admire your honesty mate! I suppose... Ill be with the fab for a while yet, until the the new octy comes into my price range in a year or so. what am i looking at for a RARB and bushes?
  13. Nah, its rubber foam so pretty light and adheres using 3m tape pre fitted to the lip. Loads of reviews by users in warm dry climates but want to know how itll hold up in soggy UK
  14. Done mine yesterday. Really easy job! Once done i sat car in the garage with an oil radiator on the back seats the help cure. Dont forget spare clips for the doorcards. £4 for 10 and well worth it as the plastic is brittle as f**k!!
