  1. Fantastic pics! I was there a few years back in the summer on a motorcycle trip. Stunning scenery and some excellent roads for some 'brisk' riding
  2. Welcome! another one from Blackpool Pete
  3. lol thanks, should be able to recognise someone now and at least I won't just start talking to strangers at the bar about my vRS
  4. Although I've not been active on the forums for a while I'd like to come along tomorrow. Are you meeting inside or out of Barton Grange and if inside how do you recognise a bunch of Skoda drivers?
  5. I use mine everyday for work, have covered 10k in the last 7 months and average around 45mpg. I usually do about 50 miles a day doing a mix of stop/start around town and some 'spirited' runs down the back lanes and on A roads. Usually get around 360 to 420 miles from a tank.
  6. My vRS has covered 9k and pulls to the left also. I put it down to road camber mainly and/or tyres but I'm having the arb drop links replaced on Friday so will be interesting to see if it makes any difference. Not going to worry about it too much if it doesn't, just be nice to not have to listen to that knocking noise on everytime I go over a bump.
  7. hehe, looks like a familiar bit of road, just past Cockerham before the turn off for Glasson Dock if i'm right. I've not had the Fabia airborne over there but the bike has seen some fresh air under its wheels a few times
  8. '90 Pug 205 1.1 Style and the Missus '92 Pug 205 1.9 GTi, which was used in one of the tv commercials. Never did get all the sand out from inside the bumpers..went like stink tho
  9. I got my vRS new at the begining of August and have so far covered just short of 7000 miles without any problems. Occasionally there is a very slight 'stutter' at low revs in 4th gear if I'm only touching the throttle lightly and lift my foot off and press it again striaght away, good job I don't normally drive with a light foot Tbh though I wouldn't say my car has a problem and under normal driving conditions it never hesitates and spins cleanly up through every gear.
  10. Hiya all, I found this site a few weeks ago when I was looking to change my car, and found it to be very good. I finally changed my Corolla diesel for a new red Fabia VRS last Monday and so far I have one word to describe it....Awsome! I've done the best part of 700 miles this week, I use the car for work to visit clients as well as personal use at weekends. Its done a good mix of motorways and A and B roads. The only doubt i had was I wasn't sure if the brakes were good enough but coming round a corner on Friday afternoon to find a woman trying to do a u-turn in a road not wide enough, confirmed that yes they do work and work very well! bringing the car to a very controlled stop very quicky! Economy has been good and overtaking is effortless. Always nice to see the look of surprise and horror in the face of Mr BMW when a Skoda lifts its skirt and takes off into the distance infront of him I would like to thank Ian from Woodheads of Blackpool who sold me the car, he was very helpful and non of the usual sales pitch that I've got from other dealers. Looking forward to many more miles in the car, and saying hello to any owners, if you're out around the Blackpool area
