  1. Water level is always at the full mark, and once the engine is up to temp and on switching it off and on the light does not come on for the rest of the day. Will check to see if there are corroded prongs.Just had water pump replaced so i know that is not the issue.
  2. Water pump recently replaced.Temperature runs absolutely normal.its only the warning light.
  3. Of late my Octavia has started throwing up the "low coolant warning" on start up in the morning when the engine is cold.Coolant levels are fine.Once the engine warms up, on switching off and starting again the warning disappears. The VCDS does not show any fault or error either. Is anyone experiencing the same.Im thinking its probably a sensor issue.
  4. The cars sold here do not have drive modes. Adaptive cornering lights work fine.
  5. Does anyone have issues with the xenon lights. The past few months the high beam on my car aims too high and the auto adjust at higher speeds where the beam pattern changes does not happen. There are no error codes or faults displayed.I have run them in auto and manual mode....no change. Also the change in beam pattern in the rain or fog with the fogs on does not seem to happen either.
  6. It is recommended to change the oe sump plug on every oil change.
  7. Well since i knew it was the water pump, and did not want my car hanging around at the dealers with the pump removed ....just requested for a water pump change, sent the car in after they got the part and had it replaced. Sure enough it was the plastic sleeve that was sticking.Took them 3 weeks to get the part.In any case my car was just out of warranty.
  8. Just replaced my water pump at 65000km. Sensed it to be a water pump when i had a temperature spike a few weeks ago.Fortunately was close to home so parked it until the dealer got a replacement in. In my case there was no leakage of coolant or even drop in coolant level. This could be a problem for folks living in colder countries where the engine really does not get up to normal operating temp very often.Sometimes what happens im told is that the block keeps losing water due to evaporation even while the reservoir is full and even the temp guage reads normal until suddenly it spikes and if you are unlucky it could do a gasket. Are the new water pumps updated or can one expect them to give up as well in time?
  9. I run 225/45x17 on my Octavia 2.0 TDI in India.Been running them at 32psi front and 30 in the rear with up to 4 on board at times.Seems fine.Running Michelin Primacy 3 SP which are now up to 40000 km old.I roatate them front to back evey 5000 km and that seems to do a load of good to tyre life.Still got a whole lot of life in them.
  10. I have noticed this from the day i bought the car.Happens only when the fuel tank is full. In my experience it gradually reduces and disappears as it apporaches 3/4 th.
  11. Had to top up coolant twice in the last two and a half years of owning my car.its a 2.0 TDI DSG. Roughly every 20000 kilometres and around a litre every time.No leaks or other issues found.
  12. Is there an oil change interval for transmission oil on the 6 speed DSG? Skoda India says its a lifetime oil.
