  1. Again, thank you for your comments @PetrolDave. Much appreciated. I don't have a meter which stores max/min but just taking readings by eye. Voltage is good at rest but I see it dropping to 10.3V and 10.5V during a couple of starts. Garage has looked at it again. Still nothing identified but now focusing on the instrument cluster.
  2. Many thanks for your reply. If low voltage was a suspected cause, would it not be happening more often after the vehicle was left for longer? Overnight, over a weekend, or after returning from holiday? I have never noticed it happen in those scenarios, only after short mid-journey stops. Would even a poorly battery, not have it's best fighting chance when the car has just been running for a good length of time?
  3. I think it was mentioned by another user here or maybe another thread that the fault might relate to short stops (engine fully off then start again). Or at least it is occurring during that process. I am definitely finding that the reset occurs after short stops. Every time I notice a reset, I check the miles since it happened and it is always a mid-journey engine stop then start again. Does anyone know if this could info could point to something which might be causing it? (since start, long-term and since refuel all resetting randomly) (It's booked in again next week)
  4. "Faulty fuel sensor..." according to diagnosis. Repaired. No change. Still resetting "since start", "long term" and "since refuel" for no reason. I appreciate I don't know what I'm talking about and that computers can do squirrely things, but surely a faulty fuel sensor might reset "since refuel" but why would that reset "since start" and "long term"? Now I have to book it in again. Frustrating.
  5. Same issue. 2019 Octavia Mk3 Estate. Taking car in tomorrow. Hopefully a software update will fix it. I'll update if there is any information to share.
  6. Bingo! Many thanks ords. I looked back through threads, just not far enough! Looks like it might be a known fault but good to know I'm not alone at least. Car is going in tomorrow so hopefully they might update software or know the fix. Thanks again for the help.
  7. Thanks for your reply. All reset at same time, and often. No knowledge of hitting any button and I'm not busy scrolling, looking, changing anything. Became apparent on one occasion when I went to look at data and all had reset at same moment shortly prior to looking. So I kept an eye on it and now see them resetting often. Still gathering info and observing but it might coincide with a stop (ignition off, key out) but if it is this, it's resetting all (since start, long-term and since refuel) on a brief stop, a stop which would not normally be long enough to reset even the since start.
  8. The multifunction display in my Octavia Mk III estate keeps resetting. So far, I have found that "Since Start", "Long-Term" and "Since Refuel" all reset at the same moment in the distance, time and MPG displays (odometer and trip displays are unaffected). If this is a known issue, can anyone direct me to previous discussion? If not, any ideas what the issue could be? Many Thanks.
  9. p.s. counting back from when the clock reset, I know that whatever caused the event, it happened when I parked and switched off the car.
  10. Has anyone experienced the clock and trip computer resetting for no apparent reason on a mk3 Octavia? Or does anyone know what could cause this? I don't know if any other features are also affected but the clock and trip comp are the most obvious. Any hints or ideas to check would be much appreciated.
  11. Earlier in this thread, there is discussion on 'Air Care' with mention of setting it to default to ON as well as using HEPA filters. Is it an option in settings to change the default for Air Care on/off? My Mk III Octavia Estate seems to accumulate an incredible amount of dust, more so than I remember previous cars of the same model. I'm wondering if Air Care could help reduce this by filtering cabin air? However, I'd be keen to get an idea of how much cabin air is recirculated. If you have four people in the car (and they're all breathing) there is the risk of accumulating a lot of moisture. Will my local Skoda franchise be familiar with options for HEPA filtration? Has the issue of dust come up elsewhere in other threads that anyone has noticed?
  12. I take it your school has a totally invincible Greenpower Goblin or Formula 24 with your influence...? (maybe you could advise how I might assess the battery in ours to see if we need to replace it?)
  13. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of bringing blank switches/buttons into use? Like the ones in front of the gear lever in my Mk III Octavia where there are about five blanks and three in use. Is it even possible? Can you get functioning switches to use in the blanked slots? Is it a complete unit with all eight switches but blanked over in models without the feature? Or are the switches all individual units? My possible project is installing amber beacons around the car and I'd like an on/off switch in one of the unused slots if at all possible. Any info would be great.
