  1. I really don’t understand why you need to thread crap Ricardo. I asked a perfectly reasonable question which other forum members have helpfully answered.
  2. Hi, It’s more of a preference than a need. I enjoy driving a powerful, yet practical and understated car. My 170bhp Yeti still puts a smile on my face on country roads
  3. Thinking of replacing my 170bhp TDI Yeti for a Karoq. The only thing putting me off is 150bhp being the maximum power. I could choose to go petrol, but the 190bhp petrol only seems available in the Sportline. Ideally, I’d like a Scout with a 190bhp TDI and leather. Nether of which are options. Does anyone know if these options are on the cards soon?
  4. I had exactly the same happen to mine. Steep drive, parked pointing down and water on top of drivers mat. Water exiting correctly via rubber grommets. Skoda replaced the entire sunroof cassette due to a crack. I was told that some have this weekness. Luckily mine was a few weeks inside warranty.
  5. Re: Panoramic Sunroof. Yes, they can be problematic. My 2015 Yeti developed a leak into the drivers footwell. This was usually when parked downhill. Initially I thought it was a blocked drain hole but water flowed freely when I tested it. It turned out to be a cracked sunroof cassette and the whole thing apart from the glass was replaced - thankfully with 2 months to spare on the warranty...
  6. I cured it on mine. I used some black felt pads and folded them over to make 4 pads of 1cm x 1cm x 3mm. Using a slim screwdriver, I pushed them between the round dials and dashboard. You just need to make the pads thick enough to fit really snug and jam them in. Being black and recessed you don’t notice them once jammed in. It drove me mad before also.
  7. As my 170cr Yeti is soon to go out of warranty I thought I’d try out a RaceChip Pro 2 at £199. Called my insurers - LV - and was quoted an extra £27 and was told to call them back once it had arrived and I was ready to fit it.... Called them back a few days later when it arrived only to be told I was misinformed and they do not cover them! I had them escalate my complaint but there was no budging them, but resulted in a £35 cheque from them. Looks like I’ll be looking for a new insurer....
  8. My only advise is to enjoy it :-) A tip would be to get a genuine Skoda set of rubber mats. They're very reasonably priced and mine have lasted for nearly 3 years and are still unworn. The plastic boot liner is useful also.
  9. Before it goes back, could you check if the drain plugs are missing. Happened to a mate of mine after a Haldex "oil change". Dealer recovered and sorted.
  10. For Google Maps you can avoid using data / 3G. You can select 'offline areas' to locally cache a custom area of your choosing. The downloaded area stays on your device for about a month before being removed. All free. I did just this a couple of months ago on a holiday in Rhodes. I basically downloaded the whole island. It was brilliant and didn't use any of my data allowance. The places we ended up in our little Suzuki Jimny probably wouldn't have had a phone signal anyway. Thought I'd share this as it's not an obvious option in Google maps.
  11. I've just seen the release video of the new Jaguar E Pace. Now that looks like an interesting proposition. Yes, a bit more money than an Ateca or Karoq, but it at least looks interesting. Not only did I buy my Yeti as a practical and capable car, I bought it because it had character. The replacement lacks the latter. Maybe I'll think differently when I see a Karoq in the flesh...
  12. I've just given it a go on the front ones, and they do the same too. Gosh, aren't Yetis amazing! :-)
  13. Over two years of Yeti ownership and I've only just found out that the air recirculation button is actually three-way not simply on or off. There's on, where it's recirculating. There's off, where the air flows from the outside all the time. And there's 'A' for auto, where it constantly monitors the air quality and automatically switches to recirculation if it drops below a certain standard.
  14. Yes, I had a new Impreza turbo back in '99. A fantastic, small, fast and characterful car. Had it for 5 years, by which time the replacement had grown too big and lost its character. Moved on to an Audi Avant which was good for 8 years, until 'progress' ballooned that to proportions too big for me to want. That let me to the Yeti. Sadly the same is happening again...
  15. I can understand why you may want to remove Arnold Clark or Fords of Winsford stickers, but see no harm in allowing a good local dealership a bit of advertising. I do draw the line when it comes to dealer stickers on the paintwork though. That's definitely not on.
