  1. Hi all, my first service is due in the next week or so (~18k) and I'm just wondering if there are any non-standard aspects that I need to ask for specifically. The car's absolutely fine but are there any things that you've found you need to ask for specifically that won't be covered if you don't ask for them - e.g. software and map updates etc? Probably chargeable I know. And anything else? If the car is going in for the day I'd just rather get everything sorted in one go. Cheers. Skoda Superb L&K 190 2.0 Tdi DSG
  2. Quartz for me. Haven't regretted it once, especially with the darker wheels. (In need of a clean in the bottom picture tho )
  3. Well I took a punt the other day and bought the RaceChip Response Control unit for my 190 DSG L&K. Like a few others on here I was pretty frustrated with the lag and general sluggishness of the car but gave up just thinking it was the way the car was. I installed it today ... and man what a transformation!!! I now feel like I have the car I originally wanted. Can I just say a big thanks to BillyJim, Windscreenman and Rainmaker for your comments on here about this unit. Absolutely top stuff! Can't tell you how chuffed I am with my motor now! :-D
  4. Hi, yes I asked the same question earlier this year. Good advice here ... http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/391521-condensation-in-headlights/ Phil
  5. Ha ha yes they are very handy! Not quite had the bottle to use the auto parking yet but the sensors are getting some use. And yep it's the Quartz Grey. Looks fab when it's all cleaned up and the wheels are sorted. Why wouldn't you buy a Skoda these days eh. ;-)
  6. Yes it's the Quartz Grey. Really nice with the wheels and when it's had a proper clean. ;-)
  7. Just a quick update guys. No more condensation since those first couple of trips at the beginning of last week. Possibly just the car settling down. Anyway apart from that I am absolutely loving the new car!
  8. A quick snap of my new L&K 190. I absolutely love it!
  9. Wow I certainly wasn't expecting to hear that it's by design and that it's perfectly normal. It looks absolutely terrible on a brand new car Nick and like water must be coming through the front of the unit. Well I'll still keep an eye on it as I've not seen it in any other car that I've had with Xenon's before. Thanks for the view from across the forums though. Very interesting.
  10. Yep, I picked up my car last Friday in Leeds (UK) - exactly the same spec as yours mikichan - and by the time I was home an hour or so later I also had condensation in both headlights. It's very noticeable, reaching half way up both headlight unit. I've had friends and family making comments already! Within another hour I could see a small amount of water inside each unit. I've never had this on any of the 4 brand new Skoda's I've been driving around in for the last 18 months or in any of my other previous cars for that matter. I'm keeping a careful eye on it in case the units haven't been sealed correctly. Very interesting that you've posted this at the same time.
  11. Well after 18 months of constant hassle - including the original Octavia eventually being rejected last year- I finally have a collection date for my Superb L&K for this Friday! This second car was ordered last August which might make me the longest suffering member of this forum at the moment. It's been a very long wait and Skoda have done my head in numerous times along the way ... but I'm nearly there. I absolutely can't wait for Friday now. For a change I'm even looking forward to the journey back down the M1 through the 50 zones in the afternoon! Never said THAT before! :p Anyway, stick with it everyone. These lead times are more than just a test of patience but it will be worth it. These are quality motors and you'll soon be the envy of everyone on the roads.
  12. 24th August 2015. BW5 (allegedly); due for delivery March. Losing the will to live ...
  13. Having spoken to Skoda UK numerous times this year (including just yesterday) they've basically just seen a massive number of orders since the launch date and they just can't build them all fast enough. If your car happened to be one of the build specs they could bundle with other similar specs and deliver first then you've basically got your car earlier than others. Full production streams don't typically come into play until the 4-5 month mark apparently so some of us have basically been bumped back by 2-3 months to get everything back on track. Maybe if I'd had no extras the odds would have been better. It is frustrating having had a nightmare 18 months already and I have vented my spleign at Skoda UK at the lack of information coming out of Skoda which really hasn't been great. I had an initial delivery date in November (always take these with a pinch of salt!) then a nailed-on delivery date of Dec 2nd ... with confirmation even in the week before it ... before a sudden change to the end of Feb last week (2 weeks after it should be with me). Anyway after yesterday's conversation I've now calmed down (again) and I'm just looking forward to March. If it doesn't arrive in March I'll go over there and build it myself!
