Dangerous driving hasn't always been easy to prove because you needed to prove 'mens rea' (state of mind) Hence death by dangerous driving wasn't either charged or proved as often as it should have been. The law has changed a little because of that and the link below explains what may be considered as dangerous or careless. The decision always rest with the Crown Prosecution Service and as they do not take anything to court unless they have a very good (in my day 60/40) chance of securing a conviction it often will not meet their guidelines and will be dropped. I know there are serving Police Officers on here and they may add more recent information but I doubt many (if any) will have a good word for the CPS. Often CPS has been changed to Couldn't Prosecute Satan! In my day the CPS were awarded points for discontinuing cases as it save court time and money so the 60/40 became more like 80/20. There is absolutely no need to get bored Oli. You can come over and clean the TEX any time you like. I have some gloop on my back tyre I have been meaning to get rid of for a while.

Neither had I up to that point. Mine was fitted by the garage and worked ok and never gave me any problems until I was riding around Cadwell Park as part of the instruction team for track days being run by Roger Burnett and Ride magazine. I was part of the road instruction team and was being shown around the circuit for when I had to take my pupils around it later in the day. I checked the back tyre to see if I had gone further over than on my normal road use and found it to be covered in oil. Good job I had stopped and luckily there didn't appear to be any on the track. I did have one fitted on my second VFR and it NEVER worked properly from the day it was fitted. Maybe I had bad luck with them but it certainly out me off them and to be fair they don't oil all of the chain anyway so you still need to do it by hand if you want to do it properly. Having said all of that I certainly wouldn't tell anyone not to have one fitted but would advise caution in that they can be problematic and do not oil both sides of the chain. I have a Triumph Explorer now so don't have the problem. :clap:

Your spannering abilities sound about as good as mine. Do one small job and create four! Pleased to hear Bro is on the mend though. I would hate to even think how much pain broken ribs are as I have pulled a muscle in that region a couple of times and the pain is unbearable every time you breath which of course not doing isn't an option!

Good link. I keep forgetting about that. I really need some different trousers as I have been boiled today in my leathers and my textile trousers just make me sweat with the lining (winter lining out). My mate today had some denims on and he was a lot cooler I just am not a big fan of them though.
