So we spent a couple of hours ringing around the usual suspects for a new set of tyres for my Superb. No one had any in stock to fit today and the prices i got varied wildly. So remembering that Costco do tyres I called them and got a price.
I purchased 4 Michelin Premacy 3 tyres for the princely sum of £319.15 fitted and balanced.
That included £50 off when purchasing a set of 4.
So any Costco members out there needing tyres, give costco a go! )
*Note: I have no connections with Costco other than being a customer!

We used http://www.trailertrek.co.uk/. They came out to my place of work in Milton Keynes and fitted a detachable towbar to my 2014 Twindoor Superb with no problems at all. Cant remember how much it cost but was a good deal cheaper than through the dealer who wanted £750.

Outstanding value as a used buy.
I love it
Yeah, with our trade-in of an 08 Toyota Avensis hatchback, we paid just over 11k for our 10 month old Twindoor.

I love how quiet and comfortable my Superb is. It's much more refined than my previous '08 Toyota Avensis.
Also the Twindoor feature I have found to be very useful.

A couple of pics of our Superb II while we were away on holiday.

I suppose it depends where you live as to the reception but I've always found it quite good around here.
You can't get (a decent) 5live or other 'niche' programmes on FM so DAB is a must for me.
I had a smaller DAB device with aerial that I bought from Halfords which worked perfectly in this area.
I have emailed the fitter and am waiting for a response.
-
Did you also have a DAB aerial installed?
Phil
Yes it was installed just behind the rear view mirror.
-
We had a new Columbus with DAB installed in our Superb this evening but don't seem to be able to pick up any DAB stations.
The fitter said it could take some time to connect. Anyone know how long?

I checked the bulbs in the DRLs and they are standard halogen bulbs.
Not sure of anything about them though.

Hi Conor
Not sure I'm afraid. It sounds like you have the facelift model, without xenons, is that right?
Can you can dig out the handbook to see what the bulb size is for those lamps?
There is no detail in the handbook that I can find that tells what the bulbs are.
I will have a look at lunch time and see what the current bulbs look like.
I thought the drls were led on the facelift, they look very white if not! Is there not a few of them either side of the headlight?
The DRLs are on the inside of the lights on each side, closer to the grill.

Having just recently bought a 14 plate diesel Superb this is very concerning. As it is EU5 I suspect that they will levy an additional charge as its not EU6!

These will work linf. They are just plug and play. Have them on my 12-plate.

Hi Jake,
Will these work on my 14 plate Superb? The DRLs are beside the main beam.
Thanks,
Conor

How do you work out if your car comes under this?
-
Thanks, there is but when you turn the car off and return to it, the function is re-enabled.
-
Is there any thing in the settings of my Superb that will allow for Stop/Start to be turned off until I decide to turn it on again?

I would be looking for a DAB enabled unit. Not too worried about regular updates either as the built in nav unit in our previous Avensis never got updated in the 6 years we had it. Not too worried about SSD or HDD size as we have an iPod for music which might be easier to use if we had the MDI. Some thought needed I think.

Hi guys,
We are looking to purchase the latest version of the Columbus head unit for our 14 plate Suberb, but have no idea what to look for. There is something called an MDI(?) and also need to consider if it needs to be coded.
Does anyone know the best place to start? We don't want to pay the price Skoda are charging for the Columbus. Also does fitting one affect the warranty?
Thanks,
Conor

Hi,
i made a little how to video about how to change the DRL's on a Superb II. https://youtu.be/cK330yVknYU
I also changed the fogs to an LED and disabled the bulb warnings so i didn't have to use resistors.
I will probably make a video about the bulb out warnings later and post it on this website to.
greets
I have the Superb 2 with the DRLs beside the main headlamps. Does this work for those and what bulbs did you use?

If you need data while you are driving then you'll need to run your phone in Hands Free Profile mode, just go into the phone menu on the Maxidot and Phone Settings and change it to the other one. At the moment you'll be set to use Premium.
Its not that I need data while I am driving. When I turn the car off and go home or to the office, my data connection is not connected and I have to reboot the phone to get it back.

I have my Galaxy Note 4 connected to my Superb and it connects as soon as the car is switched on. I have noticed a couple of issues when the car is switched off.
1. If I am sent a text while driving and go to read it when the car has been turned off, it does not seem to exist on my phone.
2. I also lose my data connection. I have to reboot my phone to get it to connect.
Anyone know how to fix this? And does the "remote sim" function need to pass all control to the car?

I'd like to see if I could get the rain sensor working on my Superb. Does it affect the warranty if you change this?
New Tyres? Try Costco

They do Bridgestone tyres too. Discovered that today.
