  1. What the?! This is not fair. Mine gets built next week (20) and I'm just going to miss the boat?! It would be good to understand what this hardware is and see if dealers can arrange for it to be installed?
  2. There's a bit more to it... You need a specific VAG Com cable which is near enough £300 here in the UK. So maybe ask around for someone with a cable or go to a local VW Group private garage and some of the technicians there may be able to do it for you.
  3. That's really helpful fabdavrav! Do you know which tweaks are specifically available on the Fabia?
  4. Yep, just emailed the dealer and they'll activate it. Thanks for the heads up everyone! Any other thoughts on interesting and useful VCDS tweaks for the Mk3 Fabia?
  5. Ah, it felt like a long shot anyway! I guess a mini-dome disc glued onto the passenger side mirror and will have to do! Thanks for the intel the_raz, and yep just noticed it as a Bolero setting on the manual so cheers for the heads-up looking_to_buy!
  6. So, I was thinking... I absolutely will be arranging a few tweaks when I get my car. The following are what I have in mind: Dial staging Coming/leaving home via fog lights Door unlock on ignition off Door lock after ignition on Teardrop wipes Auto rain sensing wipers (I have the SEO Auto dimming and tunnel function, so I'm assuming rain wipers can be switched on?) Do you think it's possible to have mirror dip activated on switching to reverse gear? Or any other useful tweaks that come to mind?
  7. I've ordered my hatchback with the beige interior too and am hoping for delivery in June. Will definitely let you know how it looks and hopefully I will keep it clean enough to not know the answer to how cleanable it is haha!
  8. I initially was wary Happycatphil... But then I realised how pointless Mirrorlink is on our Fabias unless we're willing to dish out the £70 odd for a compatible (and rather pants) Sygic App. However, Lollipop is a necessity for Android Auto so here's still hoping stug45 gets his wish and we all have a Smartlink update rolled out as software!!!
  9. You should go for it if you think the deal is good - the Z3 Compact is easily the best smaller-sized Android phone on the market. My wife's Z1 Compact is just pure class for her and her smaller hands without sacrificing the power of flagship Android phones. It will be upgraded to Lollipop in the UK very soon too (if not already)... Just make sure you use a reliable case because unlike the other Premium Z range at Sony, the Z3 Compact is framed with plastic and not metal. Case-Mate do some really top quality cases for decent prices so have a look at their 'Barely There' range? Hope that helps!
  10. Haha great to see so many of us on the Airframe bandwagon! A genuinely great piece of kit to serve a useful purpose. KristianRS, they are very well built so they should live up to the hype (and no, I don't work for them lol!)... I do agree with puntable, it's lunacy that we have to go through these measures. But I guess the bottom line is we want a fantastic car for a fantastic price that serves all of our needs. The Fabia Mk3 really does tick those fundamental boxes. Yes, we are most definitely owed a software update as early adopters... But Fabia buyers notoriously have their heads screwed on tight. So we'll find a way to make it work one way or another
  11. You're more than welcome eBay has it for £9.99 delivered!
  12. Just been told that my build week is Week 20, and it can't be delayed. Guess there's no way of me telling you all if a week 22 build car is, by default, SmartLink compatible or not. Oh well, a Kenu Airframe (www.kenu.com/products/airframe) and my Xperia Z2 on Google Maps should do the trick considering how conveniently placed the air vents are!
  13. I called a dealer in London and they haven't had any of the above confirmed but did say I should 'watch this space'...
  14. Ok, I've been following this thread intently as my dealer is saying I should expect my Fabia SEL mid-late June (so just after week 22 I assume?!). BUT - everybody should read this article I just stumbled across - especially the below passage: http://www.automotiveworld.com/news-releases/skoda-2016-model-year-safer-emotive-interconnected-eco-friendly/ In response to customer demand, ŠKODA has broadened the infotainment package for the ŠKODA Fabia to include the built-in navigation system Amundsen. The Amundsen radio-navigation system offers a 2.5-D graphic with an 800×480-screen resolution. MapCare in Europe is included as a series-standard element of the navigation system. This entitles customers to six free updates within three years of the initial purchase. What do you think? If they are offering Amundsen now, does that mean they are only offering 'SmartLink' with the upgraded Amundsen (which I hope is standard with SEL but would imagine requires an increase) and leaving the Bolero that early adopters received to remain as is?
