Sales were fine.... in fact fabulous.... its the aftersales service that concerns me.

If it is the glove box hatch.. I sorted mine by fitting some cork pads from B&Q. Makes the door very tight and rattle free.

Well Philip Wilks Skoda repaired mine now a week ago, and I can say that after the monsoon that hit durham yesterday the car is still dry ! Well done Philip Wilks Skoda

Tom.. it looks very similar to what I had. My carpets were not dripping, but if you take the fitted mats out and have a look at the underside.. if thats wet then you do need the seals doing. It doesnt take long for the whole car to start smelling bad. I would get those looked at asap just incase the dealer cannot get them sorted first time. R

Well I've collected the car, all nice and dry. Will just have to wait until the next downpour to see if the repair is successful. Dealer has been extremely helpful and polite.

Well, I have to say I've changed my tune a little. I popped in the other day to get the leaky rear doors looked at... they said that they could not handle this as it was a body shop only job.... I also asked them to look at the cracked instrument cluster cover.. again.. they said it was a body shop job!!!! WTF ???? They recommended that I take the car to a main dealer. Which I have done (Philip Wilks Darlo) and I've had nothing but perfect service. I very much doubt I'll be using SMC for any aftersales service again. Ah well... so much for supporting a local business.

GinG I think I spotted your car sitting at the dealers. I've been told I can collect mine tomorrow.. but I have to return it on friday so that they can change the instrument clocks ?? so that they can sort out the cracked instrument cover! I'll post up a further update tomorrow once I get the car back.

Cool ! Can't wait for my shelf to arrive... however, I will need to order an amp, don't want to blow up the HU ! Rich

Cheers Mike, The car is only a 55 plate.. and the creak / rattle is at the rear and to the left of the dash cluster.

Am pretty much expecting that I will have to pay.... due the fact I've dynamatted the doors.... but i will not be paying up if they do the work without authorizing the costs. I am getting another warranty job done at the same time.. the dash instrument cluster cover has cracked and the dash behind rattles under acceleration.

Ah right... The speakers arrived today... pleasantly surprised to find they come with a cross over. poop I forgot to check impedance of the speakers... I was going to run them of the HU. I'll do some checking first. I have changed the front speakers and I've never know such a faff on. The next time I want to change any door components in a Skoda I'll take it to the pros.

Mine is booked in at Philip Wilks in Darlington to have this sorted next week. I had gone to Sedgefield Auto where I purchased the car, and from what I can gather they having lost the Approved body shop and don't seem to be doing any other warrenty work.

Well the one I've ordered the speakers are completely hidden, and I've specified the the colour to be as near to the standard one as poss.

I've just order one from Auto Acoustics. Can't wait for it to arrive. Theres a couple of designs and a number of different colours to choose from. They will even cut the holes too! Skoda Fabia 5dr (00/W on) Ordered it on Monday morning. I'll post up some piccies once it arrives etc Rich

Just spotted mine has done this in the rear footwells... car still has a couple of years worth or warranty left However... I had some dynamat left over from doing the front doors, so I matted the rears, so am wondering if the warranty will cover the repair ? any thoughts ? Feel like a right spanner now :thumbdwn:

Hi guys... I need to buy some new tyres... found some damage on the sidewall of the passenger side front some I reckon I'm on borrowed time. I've currently got some of those god aweful bridgestones on... the road noise is deafening. It looks to me that the Toyo Proxes are a pretty good bet... what are your opinion on road noise from them ? Are they any good in the snow?..... (not that we've had much up here) ie are they drivable or death trap in snow ?
