  1. Thanks for all the replies so far. Lots of votes for the eagles so far.
  2. Hi folks, Well it looks like the fronts on the Blackline are nearing the end of their life. Not bad really, original tyres and 17000 on the clocks. Any who they are getting a bit low and I certainly won't trust them going into winter, had a scan through and the uniroyal RS3 seem highly recommended but I've no idea where I would get them/get them fitted. Any alternatives? I used to have efficient grip and thought they were quite good, my mate got some jintu tyres on his leon and seems impressed with these too. Cheers for your opinions.
  3. Cheers mate. I was messing about with it. I'll have to see what I can make it do.
  4. Got the one above through today, perfect fit and function but sadly had a little damage so going to get it exchanged. I'll post some pics when all done. Don't know if anyone else noticed but if you go from off to auto the unit makes one beep, from side lights to auto two beeps and from dips to auto three beeps. Anyone know what that's about?
  5. Got one of these coming, it's the same model number as my original switch so should be a perfect fit, I'll let you know. Should be here this week. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331623077030? _trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  6. Just another little update. The original switching had was part 1Z0941431K,the one that came with the kit was not, didn't note the model number but it started with a 5 I think and may be the MK4 golf fitting. Going to order just an auto switch with the same model number and think it will be all good.
  7. Yep you are reading that right, when a little dark the dash dials light up but no dipped beam light. When darker the dipped come on.
  8. I have a gap as in post 1 of this thread. You will notice there is more gap at the top than the bottom and that's because the outer bezel is actually wider at the top ie it's not perfectly circular. What I need is a switch as per post 17 which is you look closely is wider round the top than the bottom and fits perfectly.
  9. I would guess it would already have an auto option on the light switch. I think in the cars equipped with auto from stock the sensor was in the rear view mirror unit.
  10. I'm going to try and activate the auto lights with carista but for now the auto function works and when a little dark dims the drls and when darker activates the dipped beam. Ran the sensor cable in behind the fuse box as the cover is easy to take off with a screwdriver down low and then ran the cable at the base of the a pillar and fixed it down low on the a pillar. With regards to getting a correct fit replacement my old switch model number was 1ZO 941 431 K So I need one with auto and both fogs that can replace that.
  11. Well it functions fine but it has the gap around the edge. Any ideas where I can source one that will be the correct fit so I can just attach it to the sensor
  12. Wow nice one just did it while sitting waiting for the missus. I'll fit it a bit later and get back to people on functionality etc
  13. Can someone just let me know how best to get the current switch out? Where is best to run the light sensor to?
  14. Got one on route for mine so I might be updating you first lol
  15. I've had mine about a month now and its the best purchase I've ever made. I went for a diesel manual estate. I'm averaging around 46mpg and I don't hang about, you'll get a bit better than that on your length of run I would think, glad I went diesel. I went manual too, not enough long runs in my opinion for an auto and I love the feel of control on the manual. The final decision for me was the estate, with a little boy but more so the dog the estate was a great decision it's just so much easier. Great car chosen with help from the great members of this forum.
  16. Hiya, I'm sure I found a thread similar to this before where people listed there recommended/Top mods but I can't seem to find it now. Just wondering what modifications people recommend getting done on this car as per the title. Cheers
  17. Ok thanks for that,I'll probably hold off for now then
  18. http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-II/Octavia-II-04-12-shift-knob-plate-in-RS-design-6M Note the link to what it won't fit, looks I've the Blackline gear knob to me
  19. I don't know but superskoda have a link in the listing for the one you would think would fit the car stating if you have this gear knob it won't fit and then there is a picture of a Blackline gear knob.
  20. Has anyone found a replacement or managed to successfully change one of these. I had a look on superskoda but it would appear they are not suitable for the Blackline.
  21. +1 for brodit, I use there clip combined with a magnetic holder, works a treat
  22. Just watched one on Facebook myself. Unreal, massive sympathies to those living there and the families of those who lost their lives.
  23. Would one of these Chinese ones with the sensor work in my MKII VRS?
