  1. Hi Currently, in a 2022 i20N but not really a fan of it and looking for something a little bigger and sensible. Had a 2015 VRS for 7 years so looking forward to potentially getting back in a Skoda as my Octy was awesome. I'm interested in the Scala Monte Carlo, as it's a 1.5 with a decent bit of punch should I need it. Prior to my i20N I had a Cupra Leon mk4 which had infotainment gremlins, just like the MK4 VRS and MK8 golfs. My question is, does the scala suffer from the same gremlins...SOS popping, front assist crashing and general woefulness? Also, are there any other known issues which plague the Scala and Skoda haven't managed to iron out? I'm looking at 2021+ models. Thanks 😊
  2. Not a direct answer, but hopefully a bit helpful nevertheless. I've got a standard floor estate and can fit a bog standard metal crate from Pets at Home in with no issues, takes up roughly half the width of the boot so still have space for other items. This is the one https://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pets-at-home-single-door-dog-crate-medium-black-7127086p--1 It touches the metal underside of the parcel shelf and I have to lift it up and rest it onto the plastic lip to open it but it's done the business for 5years with for our dog (Cavachon). Might be an issue if you've got a proper sized dog 😂🐶
  3. My 65 plate sits between 43-48mpg, which is mostly city driving. Maybe once or twice weekly it hits a fast A road or M-way to open it up. I get 500-550 miles indicated when I fill up, usually get around 400 though before I fill up which is just before it hits around the 1/8th marker (red zone) I'm rather happy with the figure tbh as I came out of a 1.4 Ibiza into my VRS and for the extra grunt, length a full tank lasts and pricing of diesel its great. I've had it since new and it's on 68k miles, I'd really like to take it to 100k but I'll see how patient I can be. I'm already getting my head turned by a new i30N but consciously holding out as the practicality and performance of my estate at the moment is great. (Plus the rendered 2022 type R looks rather nice 😂) .
  4. Not used them but I got mine from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wiper-Delete-flush-Bung-Dewiper-fits-polo-Golf-Mk4-Mk5-Mk6-mk7-UK-SELLER-1st-/163143292692?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
  5. Cool, just snagged two off eBay for £4 🤘
  6. Thanks for the recommendation, off the top of your head do you know what output you're running - I'm wanting something circa 6000 so they're bright in the boot.
  7. I'm in the market for some bulbs to replace the standard ones in the boot of my VRS. I don't fancy the superskoda ones as I'm not willing to pay their price for tiny bulbs 😂 Can you recommend another brand which are decent in terms of light output? I'm willing to spend up to £15 for bulbs which are bright and error free. Thanks
  8. These codes popped up during a search on the Carista app, can anybody clarify as to what they are as I've searched online and can't seem to locate all of the code definitions. Should I be worried that my car is going to explode into a million pieces? I've read on a few of the SEAT and VW forums that Carista faults should be taken with a pinch of salt? I mean how can the ABS be linked to the camshaft?!? It's a 65-plate Octavia TDI VRS. Thanks
  9. Hi I've got a dash light on as my NSF side light bulb has passed, 5yrs down the line it's had a long and bright life. I've just looked in the handbook and can't seem to find the bulb I need to replace, it's absolutely battering down outside too so don't fancy popping the bonnet etc to get the details. I'd appreciate it if you could share the bulb details as I can order one now for collection tomorrow. Thanks
  10. Oh, yes I forgot to post that. Skoda wanted £540ish for the honour, went to some random place my uncle recommended as he had his pump and belt on his A7 done in August.
  11. Oh wow, honestly thought the whole thing got emptied and refilled.
  12. Surely, they must do. It's contaminated, if they didn't that'd be like an oil change without a new filter. My water pump and belt was £275 ex VAT last month. Mine's a 65plate just surpassed 60k.
  13. Yep, I've got a lane assist camera. Just wanted to know if you can add it via Carista, the dongle came last night so going to give it a go in the next few days.
  14. Hi I bought a Carista dongle last night, primarily to use with the VAGdpf app. I've noticed and like the sound of high beam assist. I've a late 2015 VRS, will Carista enable high beam and if so is it easy to do? Thanks
  15. Definitely. I was tempted to do the fuel filter but looked a messy job. Turned out it was as the garage I took it to got diesel all over my engine bay 🤦🏼‍♂️
  16. I can't see it happening tbh. If they were going to they would've implemented something in the last shake up of VED where now everyone is pretty much £145. I'm quite happy driving around briskly, hitting mid-40s with £30 a year tax. I came out of a 1.4 85ps petrol Ibiza into my new VRS back in the day, at the time diesel was fashionable and petrol was hitting £1:30 sometimes too. So mine was an economical angle of choice. I know it's not a direct comparison, but look at the uptake in electric vehicles, the infrastructure isn't there for everyone to drop petrol or diesel and mass exodus into one at present and they've been the next big thing for about 5yrs? I'm keeping my 65-plate which has recently hit 60k for another two years or so. I'd like to get it to 100k but already Autocar is tempting me with new models which take my fancy. Will I be getting diesel next time? Nope. Only for the basis that if the stupid ruling of combustion engines comes into force I want something with petrol powaaar (new i30N is on my list or a Type R) before we're all powered by Duracell Drive batteries. Similar to what others have said, you have to take the hit in terms of costs if you go with petrol as you know, but smiles I imagine are in abundance...they weren't for me in my last petrol as 0-60 took about 11s with a tailwind on a downhill!
  17. I got mine changed at its last service, 4yrs, didn't go to Skoda though as their prices skyrocketed a few months prior. I love the way they can just change the mileage duration and the fact that it varies so greatly with VW, Seat and Audi even though they're all the same engines at times.
  18. Year of registration 2015 Engine 2.0 TDI vRS Mileage when fault occurred 59,300 Miles Dealer name & response (i.e. "don't want to know"/"yep, they all do that"/other) Taking it to an independent as I'm not paying £549 for cambelt and pump. Any other info. (Full Skoda service history/independent?) Full service history, 1st at Skoda the rest elsewhere. I knew it was coming as I was planning on getting the work done at the end of this month, stupid car has other plans though 🤦🏼‍♂️ Tempted to take it to we buy any car instead and put a deposit down on a Type R or i30N 😂
  19. 😂 Thanks for the replies, I'll just attach a plazzy bag somewhere instead; honestly thought it'd be better than what it's described as.
  20. Hi I'm looking at purchasing the genuine Skoda bin as my daughter has developed a fondness for sharpening pencils all over the floor. https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/products/skoda-door-pocket-bin-black-5ja0611079b9 Does it fit in the rear door card, I can't seem to find any guidance whether it does? Thanks
  21. Joking aside, I hope the car's OK pal 👍
  22. I imagine the fact it probably shat itself when it realised it was about to be taken out would be another thing to factor into the tainting 😂
  23. 👍 Thanks for that, saves messing around in the glovebox again. I've seen the plugged in modules, however I prefer the one for the rear screen for coverage and so my mug isn't recorded 24/7 when driving 😂
  24. So my cheap and cheerful dash cam is beginning to crumble away, literally, the suction pad remained attached to the window and the rest of the bracket and unit dropped down to earth with a thud whilst driving this evening. I've decided I'm going to get a Nextbase rather than replace the bracket. I want one with a rear cam module however haven't decided on the model yet but will do soon. I've got two queries: 1. The power lead NB use, is it a mini USB? I've already got one hardwired in so to save time and £££ if this fits I'll be happy. 2. Would somebody be able to take a photo of the connection on the rear view cam wire that goes into the 'front' cam. I've looked online and can't seem to see it in any of the images. Wondering if a generic rear view cam will fit and work with a NB unit. Thanks
  25. Estate? I'd imagine so as the foot pack would be designed to clamp on to the factory fitted rails. Width across for the bars is circa 118cm. If it's a hatch I can't be certain 🤷🏻‍♂️
