  1. Thanks Dave for the wire info. Concentrating on the orange black / brown Difficult tell if it’s black or brown I wiggled those in the quad connection and then tracked the twisted wires back into the dash and found a swagged junction with more orange wires and on the other side a red and black. The great news is everything is now working as it should Cheers Simon
  2. Hi both Thank you for info I recall there being an orange and black twisted cable. Might that be it? Thanks
  3. Thanks Dave I should have guessed that ref canBus rather than dedicated ignition source. I have checked the plug on the back and all the wires look to be engaged. Do you know which wire is the canbus feed. I can then concentrate on that wire or that plug in the larger quad lock Thanks Simon
  4. Hi all. After removing the info centre to diagnose a noisy heater flap the system does not seem to recognise I have the ignition on with or without engine running. The left hand buttons on the steering wheel do not work. The head unit screen comes alive if I switch it on but then it does not switch off when ignition is turned off. The radio works and I can navigate the meus on the screen but if I select anything it states "This function is only available with ignition on". Tried soft reset and disconnected the battery but still the same. Its almost as though it does not "see" the ignition power. Checked the only 2 fuses which manual states are info centre. Disconnected / reconnected plugs on the back and still the same. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated Thanks Simon
  5. Carbon vinyl wrap gets my vote for under £10 which would look smart on WA66 ZFX and some left to wrap the mirrors?
  6. Hi all Not sure if this is the appropriate thread but: I bought a rear camera from ebay which was fine but the lines did not move and the picture wasnt great, that had 2-wires into the plug on the MIB . I upgraded to one from Aliexpress which was recommend on a thread and this as more wires. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000164914793.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.73e14c4dfQHeyz On this the lines move and the picture is much better. I have a removable tow bar and removable connecting plug/adaptor. There is some odd behaviour from the camera/car which perhaps someone can clarify? With no tow bar fitted or connector fitted, sometimes I momentarily see most of the number plate as if the camera is looking down before it then shows the normal view behind the car. Its as if the camera has more than one mode/position. This could be a mode for looking at the tow ball? With the tow bar and connector plug fitted, but nothing hitched or connected, the camera sometimes shows a shaded semicircle from the back of the car over the tow bar. This is not always there. This seems odd because from what I understand having wired the tow bar, the connector is straight through to allow the electric for the towed electrics to be connected. So how would the car know I have fitted the electrical connector? Perhaps the parking sensors are seeing something? With the tow bar and connector plug fitted, but nothing hitched or connected, the camera usually shows the normal view behind the car. As mentioned the picture is excellent and the picture of the tow ball when reversing to connect is really clear allowing visual as close as 3cm from the bumper, the tow ball is approx 10cm from the bumper 😀 Thanks Simon
  7. The rear indicator Twenty20 Cree bulbs arrived and fitted. Nothing on the dash to indicate a bulb failure. When comparing each other in direct bright sunshine, the Cree bulb looks at least twice as bright as the original. The flash of the Cree bulbs is crisp and seems crisper than the original bulb, although this is somewhat subjective. The pair were £22 inc post
  8. Many thanks for the update, will order the indicators in the sale
  9. Just ordered the twenty20 bulbs, should be here next week and will provide some feedback
  10. Ref wireless carplay, Aliexpress have a sale on, again!, and there is a wireless carplay dongle for under £90 which looks to be the same design but not the same name as the one @sashagrace recommended and I have coming slow mail from China. Might be worth a look? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000477009772.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.d7d35444nAZBpv&algo_pvid=9d34a3d3-8142-4f0f-b176-4fb57fffab90&algo_expid=9d34a3d3-8142-4f0f-b176-4fb57fffab90-5&btsid=0ab6fb8315925534669571932eadb0&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
  11. Hi all. Looking to retrofit dynamic indicators to my 2019 reg F/L. Most of the sources to buy state the dynamic indicators fit years 2015 to 2018. The pictures on these sites show indicators which look externally the same as those fitted to my car but it is not conclusive. Can anyone advise if the mirrors and indicators in them are the same on the Mk3 and Mk3 F/L year 2019? Many thanks
  12. Hi all As usual pse send me to the right topic if this is covered else where. I have surfed the web and this site looking for rear indicator LED bulbs for my Mk3 MY2019. There is plenty of info which seems to advise the fitting of some fairly expensive bulbs. There seems to be plenty on Amazon for example which say they are canbus and have leds on the top and sides, next day delivery and at reasonable prices. Also available from other shops 😃. Before I buy, has anyone fitted some recently that work and where were they from? https://www.amazon.co.uk/bright-1156BAU15S-144smd-Signal-Anti-strobe/dp/B07N4JZQ43/ref=sr_1_9?adgrpid=52623248305&dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwoaz3BRDnARIsAF1RfLfD6RiGUVPNqLZLqQ7OMUuivIvgGwNudRpkYUfu9AB_JmS7iE1ZDiUaAkfeEALw_wcB&hvadid=259042407010&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1006522&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=15312569341499160874&hvtargid=kwd-299500454070&hydadcr=6818_1766411&keywords=py21w+led+bulb&qid=1592549296&sr=8-9&tag=googhydr-21
  13. Hi in this link all sorts of elements are changing colour including the actual dial surround. Also when the revs increase the number next to the needle gets bigger. There are all sorts of changes being shown. There are other similar videos mostly VAG cars, but I see no description as to how this is being done. It all looks too advanced to be OEM based. Open to ideas
  14. Glad it works for you, not sure if it’s an additional extra on your model? Let’s hope for a rain free Summer 😎
  15. Agree with the last post. The sensitive allows you to finesse how the RLS reacts to the amount of water hitting the screen. The auto rain system proves most effective when a truck coming the other way or same way and dumps a wave of water on the screen making it impossible to see. Before you can react and move the wipers stalk to fast, the system has engaged the wipers to a speed which possibly exceeds the max setting achieved by the stalk and cleared the screen. Well that’s how it looks. Very useful on motorways at speed in sudden down pours. Also useful to tweak the sensitivity when theres just drizzle. 80% of the time I leave it in the middle sensitive position. Its not everyone’s taste, which is why it is an option in the menu.
  16. Hi, there are some uTube videos of people changing the colour of the virtual cockpit dials through the head unit to match the led strips in the doors. These were either Audi or VW but the dials look much the same They never show if there were VCDS ir software tweaks behind this Is it possible to do his to the Skoda dials. If covered by another topic please sign post
  17. I have now managed to restore the menu option for rain sensitive front wipers by reverting the last 8 changes to VCDS. I usually only make a few tweaks at a time and then use the car for daily use which shows any other associated issues. Therefore I tend not to follow the very good advice to record exactly what changes I make Recently I have made a number of tweaks and due to lockdown the car has not been out much So I had no idea which tweak removed the menu option. Google was nothing but doom ref not being able to reset the VCDS. Until today I found an article describing the detailed Change Logs VCDS keeps of all your changes. I reversed all the tweaks back to mid March which resolved my issue. There was also a log from 2018 when I installed a camera on my previous VRS. And 2019 for a towbar fit The logs are in Excel so I have saved them else where as well in case I upgrade the VCDS or laptop. I am fairly sure which file I made an error on, so will have another at the HBA tweak and check as I go Not saying the 2 types of VCDS keeps capture everything but it has saved a world of ££££
  18. Yes it’s possible my meddling has removed the wiper option, I bought the car from a Skoda dealer in March and have no idea if the option was ever in the menu. Will take to the local dealer and see what they make of it For HBA activation best to start with the Britskoda VCDS adaption topic and see if that works for you, if not try google for Audi HBA VCDS which has some other tweaks, sorry not sure which I used

  20. Enabled through VCDS following guides on Britskoda and google. I have the right symbol on dash, not had a chance to see if it works with lockdown and the light nights. Not sure if it’s going to be an option I will use but it’s now available in the menu so it’s easy it select on or off
  21. Kenai, you have summed up my problem perfectly. I am lacking the option in the menu. JR, you have removed this option in VCDS, can you tell me which module or what coding you changed? Thanks for the input everyone, the car is still roadworthy, just a pain when things are not how you prefer them
  22. Hi all First time out in the rain today in 19 plate VRS since buying the car in March and no automatic rain sensing for front wipers. Read the manual and in the MIRRORS and WIPERS menu there is an option to select the rear wiper automatic function on and off but no option for the front. Had a look at 9 Elect, selected 07 then the RLS sub menu and the only option for the RLS sensor was ticked Any advice please
  23. Hi Please send me to a previous thread if it can be answered there? I have installed a PF Jones towbar with their dedicated wiring kit. I have connected bike rack to the car and all the lights on the rack and in the car seem to work as should. The only VCDS coding I have done is to add the trailer by ticking 69. Since connecting the electrics into the car I get an ACC error which is there with or without the tow bar connected. If I disconnect the towbar loom half way down the car the ACC error disappears and the car functions as before. Unfortunately in this state the tow bar connection does not work. Spoke to PF Jones who advise the wiring appears to be ok and the car needs other modules coding but they do not use VCDS so could not advise. My current VAGCOM cable which worked on my 2015 plate VRS seems unable to access all the control modules so I have ordered a later 19.6.2 VAGCOM. In anticipation of it arriving can anyone offer advice on which other VCDS coding is required? Many thanks Simon
