  1. Dealer says four weeks. Like it by biginning of June as I have a trip to Bordeaux in the second week.
  2. New Superb will be built next Monday 22nd. Was not expecting such a quick delivery! Any idea on Skoda's usual time to deliver to the UK once built?
  3. Yea makes sense, but why not offer the 1.5 mhev on the L&K as well .
  4. I wonder why the L&K is only available at the moment with a diesel, they are very unpopular nowadays accounting for a very small percentage of sales. If they can build the lower spec cars with more engine choices then why not the L&K?
  5. Been waiting two years to order, new what I wanted, but would have preferred a full hybrid L&K, but looks like that will be another six months at least. Maybe upgrade next year, see how I get on with the mild hybrid.
  6. Car ordered for delivery in June. SKODA SUPERB ESTATE SEL 1.5 TSI mild hybrid ICE TEA YELLOW METALLIC SUITE COGNAC PANORAMIC SUNROOF ELECTRIC TOW BAR WITH ADAPTOR DYNAMIC CHASSIS CONTROL PLUS VARIABLE BOOT FLOOR WINTER PACKAGE 18" steel space saving spare wheel
  7. Just diesel on the L&K trim! 😒 No PHEV yet, will just have to order a SEL mild hybrid petrol for now and change to the PHEV when it is available. I've been waiting for this car for 2 years, can wait no longer!!
  8. Mine has autohold but only when it is on an incline, was a bit disconcerting at first as I was used to the Skoda holding on the flat, but I soon got used to it.
  9. btw, my old car is for sale in a garage in Bedford if anyone is looking for a fully loaded 280, cannot remember the name of the showrooms.
  10. I am really pleased with it, although with lockdown I have not had much use of it, no long runs, just a couple of trips to the Post Office every day. I have done 800 miles in the 3 months and hardly used any petrol, still shows 200 mile range from new when I collected it with a full tank I charge it a couple of times a week and 95% has been on electric power. No rattles or squeaks and nothing has fallen off! Not had to use it for any work trips so have not loaded it up yet, I know it is smaller than the Superb so will not be dissapointed when I cannot get so much in it. My work collegues used to call the Superb 'The Tardis' they cou;ld not belive how much you could get in it!
  11. If you remove the three headrests the floor will fold flat, it will not look like it until you get some weight on it.
  12. Yes I wasn't that sure , post '34 Citroen I know everything, pre '34 almost nothing!
  13. A Rosalie I think, the model before the Tractiion in 1934.
  14. I never noticed that the 280 had 4wd, probably becuase it worked so well! As the 508 is still new I have not been giviing anywhere near full throttle but it seems to handle it's power ok so far and of course the electric motor is very quick and very smooth off the mark. The car does not seem any slower so far but I am guessing it will not have that kick that the 280 had.
  15. I will miss the space that I had in the Superb and how practical that space was. Already had to remove some brackets for the boot cover (always the first thing I take out of an estate car) from the rear of the back seats which would have stopped you from stacking boxes nicely. btw worked out at £1.32 to chrge overnight and that is on a 11.8p tarrif, I will change to a EV tarrif at some point which should give arounf half that price whilst charging overnight.
  16. 1.6L petrol 177hp and 108hp electric motor.
  17. The Citroen is a Slough built car exported to South Africa when new and is the original colour. Not true that they were all black, but French ones normally are. The UK built cars came in all sorts of colours and you could also buy one in primer and have it painted by your local garage, this probably applies to mine. The garage you are thinking of is John Gillard's Classic Citroen Repairs now moved to Tonbridge Wells. Mine has extensive service history from him with receipts totalling more than £25K from a previous owner.
  18. Some pictures of the new car. Interior is very nice and very modern and I think the red with red looks fantastic. Frameless windows are a nice touch. I've had a very happy four years with the Superb and this forum has been great and very informative, there is nothing like it for the Peugeot unfortunately! May be back in 3 years as I won't be keeping an electric car past it's warranty and by that time the Superb S4 may tempt me.
  19. Don't do greys, went for Ultimate Red with red interior, looks fantastic, will post some pics tommorrow. Fitst impression of the car after 120 mile journey home, very quiet, much more so than the Superb, plenty quick enough with the electirc motor and very quick of yhe line on electric power only. Seats suit me very well and I can actually see all the dials as they are above the steering wheel, somehting I haver not been able to do since the days of the Citroen CX.
  20. After owning a Skoda for over four yeares I can assure you that 'Peugeot' jokes are not really as funny as 'Skoda' jokes!
  21. I will take my last drive with my 280 this morning to pick up the new car in Kettering. A Peugeot 508SW Hybrid. I was offered a deal I could not refuse when an old friend put me on their Frends & Family scheme, £4.5K dicount and £216/month for two yeares. Will report back here with a bit of a comparison of the two cars. The Skoda has been absolutely reliable with no creaks or squeeks and the only fault being the cable disconnecting between the rear seats and the remote lever in the boot!
  22. I heard that VW developed the long wheelbase Passat chassis that the Superb uses for the Chinese market, where rear legroom is one of the must haves. They decided not to go ahead with the LWB Passat and Skoda used the chassis for the Superb, lucky for us!
  23. I was going to go for the iV but after getting on the Friends and Family discount scheme through a friend with Peugeot decided to go for the 508 SW hybrid, ....I just could not turn a £7k discount down! Have been waiting several weeks for the finance details to be announced and finally on Friday was able to order the car. The dealer said that the hybrids were on a completely different finance scheme to the normally aspirated cars and this had caused the delay. Luckily for me, although the hybrid is £4k ore expensive than the petrol version the repayments are £216/month compared to £267/month for the petrol car. I know all this really has nothing to do much with your problems but it shows that maybe manufacturers are treating these hybrids as different models on different finance arrangements.
  24. Looking at the video here it seems that you could probably not just remove the box, but it is definitely just the false floor space you loose.
