    Yes on my to do list. I worked out voluntary is from about March so tempting... It's considerably cheaper than PCP and I'm not sure I'd ever keep the vehicle so would certainly fit my plans.

  3. AA have been - P067300 is the code. Glow plug/cylinder 3 circuit defective. Apparently could have issues starting which when he mentioned I've had the odd rough start recently. Hopefully I'm ok till it goes in at Skoda on Monday! Cheers for the advice

  5. Hi All, The above appeared Tuesday morning when leaving for work. I've a 65 plate VRS TDI with 31k on clock. 38 mile round trip for work mainly on motorway so engine gets a good run every day. Rang dealer to book in but they can't get me in until Monday - I've included an interim service as part of the visit and asked them to investigate. When I explained that the light appeared over the phone they started talking me through the manual DPF trigger and so yesterday was spent to/from work in the inside lane of the motorway in 4th gear at around 2.5k revs. This hasn't cleared the issue so assuming not DPF related?? There's no performance impact but then again I'm taking it pretty easy as I'm paranoid it could be something worse. I wouldn't be overly concerned but I've a 140 mile round trip planned tomorrow. Should I still be driving it? Advice appreciated. Cheers Mark
  6. I have a similar issue on mine which drives me mad. During the week I hide the issue by cranking the radio up but at the weekend with the family pretty much between 20mph and 40mph on bad roads the noise is horrendous. As also mentioned, on rough roads it's even worse regardless of speed. I've recently had the tyres rotated (back left to front right etc) and realigned and whilst if that was the issue I expect it to take a while to wear evenly but I still have 4mm of tread near enough all round so not wanting yet to splash the cash on new rubber. Couple this with the booming my driver experience is pretty poor just now... I've already decided my next car won't be an Octavia but until then (got two years PCP left) I'll have to put up with it but a VT is defo on the cards.... It's a shame as I love the way the car drives and feels - it's just the noise and pressure that is off putting.
  7. I originally had a MKII VRS TDI which was in negative equity by £1.1k - I knew this already as I was able to login to my finance account for black horse at the time. I went in to my Skoda dealer (where I initially purchased the vechicle from) to see what my options were. I ended up walking out a couple of weeks later having agreed and placed an order for my current car - MKIII VRS TDI. Skoda said don't worry about the negative equity and also put in the then, £1k dealer deposit and I chucked in £800 of my own (reluctantly) to bring the payments down a bit further. I couldn't argue with that offer seeing as I also had a couple of extras thrown in and drove them hard to bring down the monthly payments although I think maybe I could've gone a bit further. Conclusion - you're in a good bargining place if you return for further business. Skoda (or at least my local dealer) even say, we need to get you a good deal because we want you back for more. I'm not expecting any equity out of this car (as many others have already said) and will probably switch to a lease at the end of this deal to save some further £s and I've some saving to do for what will be a bigger desposit for leasing. Finding a good dealer is always difficult, some are great some are poor. If you can find a good one it's possible they'll keep you coming back and helping you each time but often we all have to learn the hard way first.
  8. I've noticed over the last few days I'm getting a rumble/vibration on the near side what seems like tyres. I'm just over 10k with mainly motorway miles with plenty of tread left. However, my journeys on a Friday always include a section of a couple of miles over those annoying sleeping policeman. This no doubt has knocked my tracking out regardless (it did on my old MKII VRS TDI anyway) and the sound I now have is nigh on the same I had with that (never disappeared). However, it tends to come and go over a period of several to around 30 second intervals on varying road surfaces and different speeds. Could it be sawtoothing (I've only heard mentioned so not totally sure what to look for) or tracking or a combo of the two? Annoyingly if the sleeping policeman are to blame I've no way of getting around going over them and I've tried the slowing down, two wheels over the middle and it's painfully slow. :no: Also, would doing this mean I'm wearing away the left side supports/bearings/etc quicker? Anyone else experienced this? Recommendations? I'd rather not fork out for new tyres when they're just below the 4mm on the front and oodles on the rear of the original Pirellis. And tracking these days seems to have doubled in price in the space of a couple of years (£49 last time I was quoted!) TIA
  9. Stop all this talk, you make me wish I had gone for the petrol!! Could've saved myself some money over the diesel vRS and gotten more poke! I get late 40s but I'm mainly on my own and 20mile journey each way to work with open roads. Mind you if I had to drive more conservatively to get close to that it in a petrol it would make me go doolally!
  10. Cheers John - thats what I was most interested in. Do you need to 'qualify' for the business offer or just apply with VAT included. From what I understand of this anyone can apply but if you're not a business user just add the VAT. But as you say if you're a limited company applicant there is a little more to it that needs further investigating.

  12. Forgive my ignorance but how does this particular deal work with being business use? Can you still use this for personal or do you need to qualify for it through a business 'allocation'?
  13. I was out with my brother-in-law last weekend in his 1.0 110ps Ibiza. Granted it's smaller and lighter than an octavia but it was pokey thats for sure. I was certainly impressed how smooth it was (DSG variant). It's an ideal match for that car - wonder if it will be as good for the Octavia with the extra 5ps....

  15. Did you have any excess sheets from this? I'm wondering whether there's any difference with including the isolator sheets as well as the regular silent coat. I'm planning on doing under the back seats too but I'm guessing this pack isn't big enough alone. Therefore, do I double up this purchase or just buy silent coat sheets in a large enough bundle without the isolator? Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

  17. Excess mileage only comes in to play if you're handing the car back at the end of your PCP term. At least that's what my Salesman told me anyway. So excess mileage for a trade-in would be 'dealt with' by the dealer. I'd clarify that if I were you.
  18. I noticed this morning (at a mere 1 degree) that my main washers did not work but the headlight washers did. Which was quite useful as I was on the motorway losing visibility fast and the projection effectively went on the windscreen anyway! I doubt it did much for the lights. Surely heated washers would come as part of the Winter Pack which I have...? Or did I miss that and they do...?
  19. I'll second this. I got Amundsen free and was starting to doubt that choice when I test drove what I didn't realise was a VRS with MIB1 at the time and it was the only one I'd been able to see. I was cursing myself for not paying extra for the columbus and wasn't even aware of MIB2 coming on mine. So I was pretty pleased with mine when it arrived. The clarity is actually quite impressive and I have no regrets of not upgrading.

  22. I tend to find the same problem with mine too. I had a VRS TDI 170 prior to this and it's quite noticeable how much slower it is off the line even in sport mode. The old one (manual) was very easy to launch without really thinking too much about it. I'm thinking this is mainly about adjusting to the changes in tech between the two but would love to have the launch capability of the DSG on my manual.... I'm also finding when the 'pedal is to the metal' it actually gets slightly stuck when releasing. I'm hoping this just eases up in use - 2k on the clock now so will just keep an eye.
