Yeah gotta say, I used V-Power the first time then noticed the price difference between V-Power and Momentum... been using momentum as it's easier for me to get hold of, its 99 ron and not 98 ron like the v-power (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) and it's cheaper??? Why wouldn't you?
i think vpower is 99 ron now, however like i said mpg seems better with momentum, as for performance i did not feel any difference, so momentum 99 for me it is. It also contains the cleaning chemicals that vpower does so i will stick to momentum 99 as i get better mpg no loss in perfomance over vpower and its abou 4-5p/litre cheaper.

whats wrong with the stand seats exactly, at the end of the day their nice and the interior overall in the Fabia is pretty cheap and one of the things that lets it down. honestly cant see how a leather retrim is going to make it feel loads more luxurious sorry
leather does make a difference, the quality of the seat material is not the best and leather is easier to keep clean and takes more abuse. I have only had the car a few weeks and i can already see some wear in the right side bolster of my seat and the material is starting to bobble already. The seat material is far better than the old faia vrs but it does seem less durable than other cars. I had my fiesta st for 4 years and there was no wear on the side bolsters which were part leather and like i said i have had the car less than a month and the wear is starting already. What will it be like in a few years?
-
looks like i might have to wait for a retrim, they dont have the pattterns for the new vrs, so need a car for 2 weeks so they can get the pattern. They would have done me a great deal if they could use my car, but as I live up in Scotland and they are in York its not possible for me.

I only use Shell v-Power in my vRS and am now awaiting an invite to the V-Power Club next
Had 1600 points which turned into £8 money off vouchers and lots of other bonus points things too.
i tried both vpower and tesco Momentum99 in my vrs and Momentum99 gave better mpg than the shell vpower and its about 5p/litre cheaper.
So now i use tesco Momentum99

can any one tell me if the seats in the fabia vrs estate are the same as those in the hatchback. The reason I ask is that i might be getting my seat in my estate retrimed by the seat surgeons and the have done a few of the hatchbacks, but no estate and they are not sure if the seats are the same.

It's our cars four week anniversary of sitting at Grimsby docks tomorrow and still no word from our dealer. I'm really struggling to understand it taking four weeks and counting to organise transport from Grimsby to Birmingham. Anyone else still got a week 19 car sitting at the docks?
nope, i had week 19 and mine was shipped up to Scotland 2 weeks ago, cant see why yours is still there.

just readin a bit on the vw dsg box and read a bit on launch control available on some vw & audi models with the dsg box. So doe the vrs with the dsg box have this. Its not mentioned in the manual so i dont think it has.
-
That's nice then, all that salty sea air eating into your paintwork.
all the pannels are covered in plastic during shipping to protect them, mines was when i seen it at the dealers, all the pannels and plastic trim outside was covered in plastic film

Yeah, the phone MFSW should be a dealer retrofit and recode job. If you ordered it insist that Skoda put right the mistake by getting your dealer to fit it free of charge
i will speak to my dealer on saturday, the problem is they say i have got what i ordered, i will see what skoda say when they call me back.
So if its wrong my dealer can fit the proper wheel and get it working with the blutooth already fitted.
-
You have two choices with bluetooth on a vRS:-
* order the bluetooth module only - keep the standard radio MFSW and control phone functions from trip computer stalk.
* order the module and phone MFSW - you get the different wheel with controls on RHS for phone functions, like an audi. believe the trip computer stalk remains for maxidot control.
if you have the amundsen or retrofit a bolero you can control the phone functions on that too.
i think the 4 spoke wheel has been deleted and replaced with the three spoke on all other fabia's for my 2012
the problem is i ordered the second option and have ended up with the first with the controls on the left only and you can only move up and down the phone book using the wiper stalk control, afew folk have had the same result when ordering the phone prep and mfsw. I spoke to skoda today and they will get back to me to let me know if i got what i should.

I have driven automatics for many years and never take the shifter out of drive from one end of the trip to the other.
I was advised that this will do no harm at all to the auto box.
I am expecting the same from my DSG Fabia, when I get it!
so leaving it in drive while on the brake will do no damage? is the car not fighting against itself then ie you are in drive its wanting to go forward but you are stopping it by being on the brake, so wont it damage the brakes or the clutch or does it disengage the clutch when stopped even if in drive and not neutral.
-
i am slowly getting used to driving an auto coming from a manual, now one think if i need to stop for a second or two at rowndabouts and junctions do i need to put it into neutral each time or can i just leave it in drive and keep my foot on the brake? When stopped at traffic light i do tend to put it into park and at junctions i tend to put it into neutral and keep my foot on the brake as i am scared to keep my foot on the brake when drive is engaged incase i do any damage to the box.

Afternoon guys & gals.
My VRSII has the 'normal' air-con controls (rather than climatronic climate control) and I've noticed it occasionally puts itself into 'recirculation' mode (the left-most of the bottom two buttons).
Anyone else's do this?
Anyone know why it happens?
I also noticed today that it automatically turned off when I turned the temperature dial up (it was as far down as it would go).
Many lovely thanks to anyone who has a clue.
mines always switches on as soon as i switch on the airco, also i am pretty sure it switches on when you reverse to stop exhaust fumes from getting in the car.

I have similar problems. I thought it was the speakers. Now the MDI has died. Does not appear in the media screen of the Columbus.
Into the dealer time.
Phil
i have the midi cable for my ipod and i get the same problem. Also i have the midi usb cable and i dont get this problem, i have a 16 gig stick and i find its easier to manage and find music using the head unit as the ipod takes ages to scroll through music.

That's like the Yeti MFSW+Phone wheel, I think.
I must admit I would prefer that to the (left-buttons only) MFSW+Phone wheel I got in my VRS. I wonder if the new "two-sided" wheel could be retrofitted to older cars?
to be honest having the left hand buttons only is not much of a problem as i tend to use voice control as its easier and works very well.
-
If you look on the new Skoda Fabia configurator if you spec the standard Multifunction Steering Wheel you get buttons on the left of the wheel.
If you spec the Multi Function Steering Wheel with phone prep you get buttons on both sides.
Cheers
Lee
i dont know if this is another change for the 12 spec car, the description has changed all it used to say was Multi Function Steering Wheel with phone prep, now it says Multi Function Steering Wheel with control module for radio and telephone. Also no photos in the bochure showed buttons on both sides and the new website has a picture now although the picture is of a 4 spoke wheel. So maybe its just added. I would just like to know one way or another if i got what i paid for at the time.

Hi
I've just taken delivery of my new Fabia VRS which has the Swing Radio with MDI interface.
I've tried my ipod but the battery goes flat when the ignition is turned off ie overnight.
I now us a USB flash drive but the "initialising PD" message comes up and it takes ages before it starts playing. This seems to occur everytime I start the car.
Am I missing something here, the same USB drive works fine in my wife's smart car but not in the VRS.
Anyone have any ideas please?
is the stick formatted fat 32?
i am using a 16 gig stick and music starts playing i a second or 2, so maybe try a different stick

I personally prefer changing the gears manually for overtaking; kickdown of course has its uses but i feel it tends to change down one too many cogs leaving you towards the end of the useful power for that gear. Still at least you can summons alot of go without having to think about what your doing, just stab and go.
RE the Climatic thing....yeah is a little bit annoying but hey ho wasnt going to bother ordering Climatronic. Manual system is perfectly decent and if anything easier to keep the car at a confortable temp. Find with Climatic/Climatronic that once up to temp it starts blowing cool air which can at times be unconfortable; its efforts to maintain a constant temperature just start to make me feel cold. Have it in my Golf and on a cold day find i tend to keep having to turn the dial up unnaturally warm just to keep warm air pumping out the vents.
there is another thing you can do when over taking and does not drop as much gears and does not rev as much as kickdown, all you do is blip the throttle twice very quickly and it will drop about 2 gears and allows you to overtake as well.

asda are doing a 4 ltr of castrol magnatex for £26 its 5w-30 A3/A4 and its says meets VW50200 on the back, so i assume this is ok for my new fabia vrs

Have a look at page 10!
http://www.skoda-auto.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Catalogue/NewFabia/FL/20_FabiaRS_Catalogue_ENG.pdf
Fog lights are standard DRL are an option
Tim
thats the european model as its called skoda fabia rs, led lights may be an option there, if you go to the uk site and download the brochure led lights are listed as standard spec.
-
Here's my spec from the online configurator incase anyone doesn't understand what I'm on about :p
Also, the new brochure says that there should be the option to add the DRL's but there is none. On the configurator, nor the Skoda system :(
it also say auto headlights and i am pretty sure the vrs does not have those. As fog foglights i am sure the brochure said that as well. Also by law all new cars must have drl fitted, so you should get them.

Hey guys
Will be collecting my RS in the next few days. I noticed the showroom car didn't have locking wheel nuts so I want to get some asap. McGard are generally very highly regarded so does anyone know which ones fit the MkII RS?
are you sure you were not looking at the bolt covers, all bolts have covers on them and my new vrs hadlocking wheel nuts and the key in the boot.
Big price drop in FUEL PRICES AT SOME SUPERMARKETS!
in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)

i am sure a while back when it was tesco 99 it came out best in a test with all the premium fuels. However at that time vpower was only 98 ron and called optimax.
