  1. Don't forget these automatic things ate reactive and not proactive. The auto wipers are fairly good but do activate randomly when not needed.
  2. I had a problem with one of mine after a repair. The VW dealer said they needed to be re-set. I don't know how you re-set them though, sorry. All are ok now.
  3. One thing I didn't mention..... Now and again I carry my work colleagues, 4 other blokes and the biggest at 6'2" and built like a Brick what's it, can easily sit in the middle on the back seat.
  4. I suppose you need to decide what you would like on the steering wheel first and then ask if those options are possible? Is it volume control, hands free phone buttons, etc, etc.
  5. Not a 1.5 but the 1.4 DSG. I have the SEL model with cream leather for over 2.5 years. It's a company car and is excellent. I can drive it for hours with no discomfort, 5'9". The engine coupled with the DSG is lovely and smooth, as mentioned above the ACC is also well worth it. It's not a drivers car and don't waste your money on paddles but it will cruise at the speed limit all day four up with luggage and make good progress on A roads. I think it's great as a family saloon. Buy one.
  6. Yes, much closer. I think Skoda have tried just a little too hard to get the most room out of the Superb. I am like you, it's just a little too far away. But I have accepted it now and I have succumbed. Overall I think the car is great. Air conditioning in the seats and 30 degreesout there 😎
  7. So, I have measured both my cars and the Skoda is 1" shorter from brake pedal to steering wheel. The steering wheel in the Mercedes still has more movement. The cars are set as I drive them. That inch does make a difference so I can confirm that the Skoda is big but short...
  8. Yes, it's all the way back and the dash is now a long way away..... maybe too far...? I've not measured the distance from the wheel to the pedals but it seems short.
  9. The steering wheel is too far away giving the impression of lack of leg room. There does need to be a little more depth to the pedals. I am 5'10" and a good average size.....
  10. Don't forget that Undertaking is a job where people deal with the dead. 💀 When you pass a vehicle on the left or right side it's overtaking.
  11. Mine has opened and dropped down a couple of times. The pin lugs don't quite line up. I dropped it down off the hinges and put it back, made sure all items were clear inside and closed it firmly, it has been ok since. I think it can twist easily and so only one pin locates?
  12. Yes, paddles in a 280, I assume that is petrol? You will have good engine braking and a wider power band etc. This car in Sportline I assume drives nicely on the paddles. Diesels will suffer from lack of engine braking just like the 1.4. My other car has paddles and over 360 bhp and the engine braking is huge as is the power range, driving using the paddles is great. It is different though as it has a torque converter unlike the duel clutch of thd Superb.
  13. He has a drivers car, changing gear using the paddles on the 1.4 is pathetic. It just makes more noise. Trust me I know because I specced them and thought it may be useful to change down for an overtake. No..... The SEL as I mentioned is no drivers car. The paddles work very well, the DSG is excellent, using the gear lever works well but honestly there isn't much point in the 1.4. Don't get me wrong I love my 1.4 but it's a cruising car. Air Con seats are brilliant by the way. The heated screen is a disappointment as you still need to scrape the side windows.. only joking...it works very well.
  14. There is a device called a Blackvue that can control how long power is on and it also monitors power consumption.
