  1. So the inconsistent hill hold is not in my Imagination then :-) .
  2. Yep jus didn't expect it, guess it was the wind it certainly feels OK on fast roundabouts and bends. Going away next weekend so will be checking all the tyres during the week.
  3. I'd be tempted for a petrol at that mileage, the difference in price between new Petrol and diesel is from about £200 quid. If you are not doing big mileage IMO I don't think it will be worth it.
  4. Standard vRS 18" Tyres, not sure about the presures, may have to check them.
  5. So I let it rip on a track a bit today and got the car up to almost 120MPH but it jus did not inspire confidence just seemed real unstable and fidgety at the front. Quite a few years back I had a modded XR3i with no suspension mods and had that up to 120MPH ish on same track and it felt a lot more confident. Maybe jus the wind or bad track
  6. In my car handbook wallet I have a Castrol Edge sticker too.
  7. I find the Amundsen quite OK. The fact it is built into the Maxi dot and it easy to pick recent destinations and cancel route guidance from the MFSW is awesome. Not used voice control for navigation yet though.
  8. The awkward Fusebox location on RHD cars. Haven't needed to open it up yet but dreading if I have to do it at night.
  9. What OIL do TDI vRS get sold new with?? I bought some Castrol Edge 5W-30 for mine, now wondering whether I should use it??? When I have had my previous cars I would normally change the oil and filter so I know what's in there before I start adding.
  10. I think it's not available in vRS?? But I think you are right.
  11. I am less worried about the DPF these days, as andyvee says jus let it do it's thing and if you do get the DPF warning lights (or glow plug/engine management lights) refer to the instructions in the owners manual.
  12. I'm getting calculated 40MPG and that's on 40 miles commute per day 60% Stop start and 40% motorway after 1000 miles. I am not driving like a nun but not driving like I stole it either. 1-2 regens a tank from what I am noticing at the moment.
  13. Where is that, Cheddar Gorge :-) . Nice colour, I had my car complemented twice this weekend, once by a dealer and the other by the police ;-).
  14. If you have an iPhone (not sure if it is available on other smart phones). Download the Skoda Service App and enter the VIN and it will tell you build date. It is quite a handy app but have found it crashes a little sometimes. You can download the manuals for the Audio and the Car and it has a few other features.
  15. Having a few issues, the front parking sensors can be a bit weird and telling me I'm too close when there is not another car for 6+ foot at least. SAT nav has thrown a wobbly or 2, once taking a proper shutdown before it loaded properly and another when it was giving completely different road signs, like telling me to come off the A406 and take the slip road to the M25. Think I might attempt a firmware update to see if it fixes, I have my iPhone as a backup just in case. The gear selector is freeing up a bit now, it was a bit notchy at first to get in gear, not a problem and there is no issue with gearbox or the clutch as such. It does get easier when the gearbox/engine is warm, I am aware other people were having difficult in the cold weather. Apart from that I am very happy even when I am stuck in traffic :-) .
  16. I very much like the Kessy system for the convenience, front parking sensors I felt the need for as well due to the parking round where I live. Did wish I ordered the folding mirrors though but everything else I couldn't be bothered. The car is on PCH so the extra expenditure on extra's I jus did not think worth it as there is absolutely no possibility of me keeping the car at the end of the agreement.
  17. Just managed to get hold of an original new proper 18" alloy for my car but now need a suitable Jack would prefer a trolley jack but aware I need to lift via proper jacking points or get the adapter to lift on the scissor jacking points. Also on a new alloy wheel is there anything I need to do special on the wheel nuts when fitting the wheel. Thanks for any answers, not had a brand new wheel or car before
  18. I've seen as low as 30MPG (9.4 l/km) in very slow and stop start traffic over a 7 mile journey in my Manual vRS TDI (non 4X4), and this with the engine oil at running temp. When the roads freed up a bit the MPG since journey start rose considerably. The DSG diesel is not as economical as the manual (there is another post on here somewhere about that) then you have the 4X4 drive system on top, I don't think you are far off. You are probably having a few regens, again these don't help fuel consumption. Overall I am hitting approx. 40 MPG on a tank of fuel (calculated and Maxi Dot) with mixed Urban/Motorway driving ( 25% stop start) after 600 miles. But I am running in a bit gently but not driving like a nun.
  19. Had to give it a quick clean, nothing too special but jus to get a bit of the horrible winter grime off

  24. I keep seeing vRS's since I bought mine. Only the first day of driving home I saw a Race Blue vRS but a 64 plate, have seen about 2 Fabia's and 5 Octavia vRS's since.
