Has the injector loom been changed yet ? it could be that - I had same issues with my scout tdi

Sludge in expansion tank - losing coolant very slowly - ? EGR cooler suspected has anybody experienced this - I rebuilt the engine 18 months ago and replaced everything except EGR Cooler and turbo could it be exhaust gas getting into coolant via the EGR cooler - oil cooler was replaced so shouldn’t be the culprit i gave a new EGR cooler to go on - but it looks a pig to fit now engine is in Audiphile

I overhauled my sons 1.2 12v polo, replaced timing chain and guides, new valve guides and seals, recut seats and ground in valves - after 120K miles, chain was stretched about one link and chain and valve guides very worn, runs superbly now ! I understand these are prone to chain wear.

Don't see a problem undoing the CV bolt, put a large screwdriver or steel rod through the aperture in the brake caliper into the vented disc end-on to lock the shaft, then release the bolt with steady pressure from a 3 foot bar or 1m if you are so inclined ;@)

Likely magnetic face that ABS sensor reads on bearing is damaged, triggering ABS fault as no speed indication, had similar with bearing that didn't lock up at 220nm torque

I had the same on the first engine I was going to overhaul - valve stem was poking through cam follower that’s what gouged the cam - if you have metal in the engine you will need to change the oil cooler and possibly the oil pump It may not be worth doing as you may have bearing damage only a strip down will tell that’s going to cost £500 - 1000 in bits alone My rebuild cost me £2800 inc dmf clutch and garage removing and replacing the engine box - I did the rebuild - head - new guides - valves recut - cam - followers - bearings - bolts - gaskets - honed bores new rings big ends and mains - timing belt - tensioner - oil pump - cooler - water pump - injector loom - rebuilt injectors - going well done 16k since rebuild - only issue was a punctured turbo hose - I suspect done by garage during refit - now replaced all turbo hoses ! I didn’t overhaul the turbo as the bearing was solid no play

I would - failed glow plug will give over fuelling on that cylinder leading to excessive carbon build up and bore wash out, seized rings etc. ALL Glowplugs should be functioning - they are cheap as chips so change them if they don't work !!

Injector harness - you can replace it with a cheap for £25 or genuine for about £100 - 20 min job - mine went same symptoms - very common I would consider overhauling the cylinder head, I had mine cleaned - new exhaust guides - valves ground - crack tested - don't skim - scrape ! for £150 Take rocker cover off and look at camshaft lobes first - are they sharp on the peaks - indicates camshaft wear - new cam & followers (black nitrided) - £120- 200 cast or steel billet. Head bolts £20 Cam bolts £20 Rocker shaft bolts - cap screws non-stretch - £15 and I would change the cam belt - tensioner at the same time - yes it mounts up, so just change the loom first :@) Done a full rebuild on mine so any questions feel free to ask atb Mike

Bosch Sensor fitted and adapted OK all good apart from low reading for turbo boost when revved, I think it could be N75 pressure sensor - changing that today - any feedback anyone ?

Its a BMM PD TDI 2.0 8v

Left burned out yesterday after 85 miles trouble free operation - Right - 3 weeks ago, I was getting pinking, checked out pipework for leaks on the ramp, nothing seen, then clearing codes I got several I couldn't clear -= opened the bonnet and a scene of devastation with fried wiring loom, planned to replace whole section form ECU - but couldn't get one in time so spliced new section in for cables same size and colours from an old A2 loom - very tedious. I am wondering if this is happening during a regen - hot gases from the DPF frying the cheap plastic. I overhauled the engine completely in November, stripped, bores honed new rings, injector seals, glow plugs, oil cooler, oil pump, main and big end shells, crank polish, camshaft, followers, valve guides and seals , valves reground, timing but all self and gaskets, new DMF and clutch - spent around £2800 - inc paying the garage to remove and refit the engine box - I think they may have damaged the turbo hose putting it back in - high pressure side - outlet Any suggestions welcomed - today I will fit a Bosch branded G450 sensor and see what happens ?

I have just had second sensor meltdown, wires we're re routed after last time it happened 4 weeks ago, had to splice in complete engine loom passing the sensor. Is it just a case of cheap sensors or is there something I am not seeing causing this - looks like its damaged the replacement rocker cover as well - can't believe the issues with these cars

When you say calibrated - due you mean adapted with stored values in VCDS

Remarkably, My 2007 Skoda Octavia II, 4x4 has now done 264,000 miles with no evidence of the DMF having been changed, I bought it 30 months ago with 205,000 on the clock, replaced a rear wheel bearing, front CV and boots, in process of fitting new rear shocks and springs, regular oil change and filter every 8-10K, fully synthetic, seems to have been worth the effort. Bodywork not great (came originally from Scotland and has suffered for it) slight surface rust to cills. Only expect it to last another 18 months so not unduly concerned, its a go anywhere vehicle, fields, tracks - only stuck twice when bellied out in deep mud, very good traction. Full dealer history, Haldex was serviced surprisingly - but they appeared to be oblivious to the filter, first job I tackled. Propshaft centre bearing noisy at 2300- 2400rpm (known fault) I have another waiting to go on. This model has a split propshaft that can be overhauled (if you can find the bearing) unlike the later models which are one piece and around £1600
