  1. Is that electronic service history you have access to? Is it possible that previous owner had car serviced by garage that doesnt pay for the Skoda software to update the online service history. We have had our 2013 skoda since 2015. The service book that came with it is completely full. I bought a generic service book online for garage to complete. But I am fastidious about keeping every bill, receipt for every service and repair. My garage tells me that none of their services are recorded via Skoda online. Anyone out there know, is there any protocol on this issue? In addition to that Superb, last month we bought a 2018 L&K version to add to the family. There is a 2 year gap in service history. No service book for 2018 vehicles apparently. Plus the service print out is meagre on details compared to the bills that our mechanic provides
  2. Thank you @DrCorbyLee for taking the time to compose such a comprehensive reply. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I'm gonna copy and paste your response to mechanic and see what he says. I'll keep you posted
  3. Ta muchly. Mechanic says he has checked the ballast and that is not the fault. Hoping someone else has a solution that doesn't equate to a £1200 replacement unit. What could other options be....... a) downgrade to standard non-xenon lights? b) Find someone who can repair xenon lights? c) is there an aftermarket alternative? I see Hella mentioned. Is this a brand name? Are they independant from Skoda? Their part numbers on their website do not resemble the part number I need. 3T2 941 018H Apparently the 3rd digit in the part number signifies the beam dot pattern for Right Hand Drive or Left Hand Drive. 2 is Right Hand Drive 1 is Left Hand Drive. I believe if I buy a LHD unit, then I will fail MOT on the beam dot pattern. Any ideas? £1200 for a replacement headlight on an 11yo car is extortion. Car is valued at £5k fully running. There is no way that 2 xenon headlights amount to half the value of the car
  4. I have a MK2 2013 Superb Elegance (facelift) with Xenon lights. Dunno if they are Bi-Xenon or Xenon. I'm getting the Drivers side Dipped Headlight warning message. Plus light wasn't working. Dunno which light, but not the side light, it was still working. Anyway, left it with mechanic to replace bulb. But replacing the bulb didn't fix it. Mechanic checked the wiring but couldn't get to bottom of problem. Mechanic has told me it needs new headlight but Skoda are looking £1200 for that. Mechanic is trying to source an alternative from a scrapyard. But now I see some posts.on this forum and the word ballast, which i have never heard before regarding headlights. I'm hoping my car is a ballast problem. Can anyone provide some guidance as to how I should proceed. Meanwhile any gifted folks out there should think about setting up a business reconditioning broken xenon headlights. £800 in mainland Europe for left hand drive versions. And £1200 for UK and Ireland. They are like hens teeth in a breakers yard
  5. Thanks for responding. I'll maybe put my own post up.

  7. Sorry no one appears to have replied. I'm curious if you got sorted as we also have a 2013 Superb 2.0 diesel Elegance Face-lift model. We aren't 4x4 though. Our blower. Some days it works. Some days, nothing. Yeah all the lights and dual climate icons light up on the screen, but zero through the vents. 171k miles on ours now and we've had it 9 years. I will drive this car until it dies. So I'm keen for a permanent fix. But would obviously like to avoid those extortionate parts that dealers like to charge top dollar.
  8. We have a Superb MII 2013 Facelift. Multiple warning lights on dash appeared a few weeks ago ABS Power steering Traction control And the tyre warning light - drove straight to mechanic who plugged it into the diagnostic. He says its a sensor - so he has ordered one. We are just waiting on it coming. Meanwhile, I have noticed the pump, pump, pump of the ABS failing through the foot pedals. I really hope its just a sensor
  9. We had the awful thump on our Columbus Head Unit (Superb 2013). Accompanied by a complete loss of the the navigation system. In June 2021, I just messaged Rustynuts directly after searching the forums. I live in Northern Ireland - posted the unit to him and not only did he fix that radio board - For a reasonable fee, he also updated maps which had never been updated since we got the car. I thought he was very reasonably priced. I thought he was very patient with my non-techy level of understanding. And I was delighted to get the head unit back and fitted back into the Skoda. I'm gutted for you that Rustynuts is without a workshop at the minute, because this guy is the genuine article. I hope you get sorted. Our Columbus is going great and I really should have left some kind of public feedback for Rustynuts back when he sorted us out.
  10. I'm just following this thread to see how you get on. Soundproofing really appeals to me. But I haven't your patience or skillset. Keep us posted with your progress
  11. Hi there. Mirrors stopped folding with the key lock last week. Mechanic had the car the day before for a service and I thought he must've "moved something". They still worked with the knob manually, but not with the key lock. Thankfully I checked this forum and almost a decade after Miljan shared his research..... His workaround Did the trick. Thanks again
