Boot lock issue
OK so a reply to my own post. But anyways I googled the issue again and found one where it said to split the actuator open. So I opened it sprayed it with WD40 and replied it and it seems to be working for now. So fingers crossed it holds at least until its through MOT.

Boot lock issue
Good morning guys I have an issue with the boot lock on my hatchback. So when I press to open the locks or the button to open the boot only I can hear the the actuator making sounds and pressing the handle to open the boot it makes a noise but won't open the boot. I have found from this forum how to open the boot from inside and got it open but what will I need to tackle to fix this issue? Do I need to remove the white actuator and open it to grease it up or is there another fix for this issue? Need to get it fixed ASAP as usual all the problems seem to appear just before MOT so luckily I've got it pushed back a week to give me time to get this sorted.

Fitting turning box
Hi guys so a mate from work has gave me his old tunning box from. His old 1.9PD A3. I haven't been back into work yet to see him but I can't find any real great instructions for installing it. Last one I installed was on my vectra and it plugged into the injector rail. This one has 2 push clips . I've read that it's possibly plugged I to the map sensor. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Key issue
OK guys i got the issue rectified. So I read up on this issue and it kept bringing me to more VW sites so I had a read and it was suggested to try another new battery.so being g thr cheaper option I did and while I was fitting the battery I inspected the circuit board off the key . The issue I found was the 2 small prongs on the battery side of the case that make contact with the board one of the prongs was folded behind thr other . As soon as I straightened them the key now works again.

Key issue
OK so I've never had a second key with the car (something I've always put on the back burner to get round to.) Though I did lock the key in the cat once and believe it or not buy the old tennis ball trick worked to get me in. So my key atm will lock all doors buy won't open them. It will open the boot with the boot button and I can hear the door locks operating while pressing this button but they don't open just the but (yes i understand its only supposed to open the boot) when I press the buttons on the key fob the led doesn't flash. Also once I the ignition on you can hear the door locks operating also.

Key issue
Hi guys I've read a couple of posts on key issues with the mk2 but can't really find an answer. Do I went to drive thr car to work this evening and its the first in about a week as the wife has has driving it. So the car wouldn't unlock but would lock with the key fob. So I grabbed a new battery and took it with me. So in the works car park i changed the battery but its still the same. It will lock and dead lock thr car but won't open it. There's also no red led flashing on the key. I know my rear passenger door won't lock as I suspect a break in a wire but haven't had a chance to explore or fix the issue atm so I've been manually locking it with a pen via the tab on the lock inside the door I doubt this would be affecting it buy you never know . Has anyone any ideas. Typical I'm away on Monday morning and both cars giving me some bother before I go and one of them is being drove on holiday .

Solid flywheel
Hi guys so my flywheel is starting to become really rattly now. So I've been looking for a kit trying to keep costs down much as possible. I had fitted a "LUK kit" to my vectra from a seller based in Blackpool via eBay before and it had a horrendous shudder when taking off but reading up on thr seller it seemed that his flywheels gave off a bad shudder but obviously he ignored all messages so needless to say I sold the car on. But I had a vectra with a solid flywheel fitted too and it wasn't that bad it had a slight mechanical noise at low speeds other than that it was grand. So I have stumbled upon a national solid flywheel clutch kit locally for sale but I don't what reputation national clutches have and I don't know how my bjb engine octavia will cope or react with a solid flywheel as I'm now using it over some distance I don't want something unpleasant to be driving. So anyone with any experience of a solid flywheel and/or a national clutch kit would be interesting to hear from.

Anyone help with photoshop ?
Hi guys I'm looking to see if anyone has access to photoshop and can help me? I haven't a clue to anything in regards to computers etc so even if I did download an attempt it I wouldn't know where to start. I'm looking to get an image off my mk2 octavia and have it photoshopped to see if the idea I have in my head will work.

Octavia sport owners
Hi guys so I have myself a set off octavia sport bumpers which are like hens teeth to find. So I asked the question before but couldn't solve the problem in regards to a replacement tow eye cover. So nobody any where seems to have a replacement and skoda discontinued the sport kit parts back in 2020 with no old/new stock left anywhere. I have tried to source a couple of breakers and and can only find 2 (one of which I got the boot spoiler from ) but nobody has the tow eye cover available. So i contacted switch happy (local to me) which import us spec parts and manufacture vw parts side skirts and spoilers etc who said they could help but would need a tow eye cover to use as a template so thats not going to work . I have also tried to contact a 3d print place to see if it's obtainable but again they would need one to scan. So any I can find is on cars for sale and for the obvious reason no one would be willing to lend me one to have a copy made off it. So I don't know if anyone out there has access to or owns a octavia sport or even if they know off a breaker close to them so I can track down a tow eye cover to have replicated or even buy off someone. Gimme a shout if anyone has any leads thanks guys.

Fitting golf side skirts?
Hi guys so I'm currently looking to tidy up my octavia as it's going to be my daily for the foreseeable so I'm trying to tidy it up a bit. So it had a bit of welding done to the sills and I'm wanting to let's say mask the the repairs. So I'm looking at fitting a set off golf side skirts. I'm aware that the mk5 golf shirts seem to fit the octavia with no issues but I'm not a fan of the turn up on the dog leg. I have saw the side skirts on a mk6 golf and I prefer there profile but my question is does anyone know if they are the same length as the mk5 golf/mk2 octavia sills? I know it's a long shot but I've a set I'm possibly going to collect but would rather know before wasting my time and the sellers time if they will fit OK?

Help with Thule roof bar fitting
Hi guys so I have a set off Thule roof bars that I have for my octavia hatch. The problem I have is the kit is stripped down and I can't find any straight forward instructions to build and fit them to the car . So I have 2x 127cm square bars with foot kit 754/480 and the rubber feet have 179 and 181 stamped on them. So the bigger brackets do they go to the rear with 181 feet and the shorter brackets to the front with 179 feet? Also what mark do I need to set the feet on the bar? Any help would be great full guys.

Towbar question
Hi guys so I'm looking to fit a tow bar to my mk2 octavia at present . I have come across a towbar locally but it came off a mk2 Leon. My question is will it fit the octavia? My thought on it is the fact the Leon and octavia share the same chassis the same as the golf too. It looks the same shape and mounting points as the octavia ones I have seen.

Strange issue with heater blower
I found an old thread on here and somebody had the same problems I have. They ended up finding out the black 460 relay was the issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Strange issue with heater blower
OK guys I got my hands on a brand new swaag unit. When I removed the old unit it did seem to have a bit of resistance to it plus it was rusty and full of dirt. So I have fitted the swaag unit and the new heater resistor (valeo part) and the fan is still dead. I checked fuses and can't see anything. On mine the rear wiper and the fan unit are beside one another and share the same sized fuse so I swapped them about but I'm still not having any luck. As I started in another post I'm having a issue with the washer pump and rear wipers not working which I'm guess now is the stalk so I've ordered one off ebay to see what happens. But I'm rather stumped with the heater issue and don't really want to have to visit the auto spark.

Washer and wiper issues
So guys I replaced the washer pump with a new one but still nothing . I'm now thinking due to the fact the rear wiper was intermittently working and it's now completely dead as is the pump is it potentially the wiper stalk that's the problem? If so is there anyway to remove the stalk with out removing the steering wheel?

Washer and wiper issues
Well guys I don't think the issues I'm having at present are connected and I'm just having a run off bad luck atm. So I previously mentioned the heater blower not working. But yesterday I topped up the screen wash after driving about for a week or so with none in it. I then proceeded to wash the windscreen. The wipers done there thing at the front but there was no fluid. I can't even hear the pump going and the rear wiper seems to want to work every now and again and again no fluid and no noise from thr pump. So is it just potential the pump that's dead or am I over looking a fuse for it somewhere? Also the rear wiper is it potentially the motor dying ? Also the washer pump does it just pull out off the reservoir?

Strange issue with heater blower
Hi guys thanks for the replies. I just read my post again and I noticed a few auto corrects. So not the gearbox I meant the glove box. I was under the illusion the motor wasn't serviceable. So u was looking at replace with non branded one if I have too but if I can get a set of brushes and strip it out to lubricate the bearings I would . Has any one done this successfully or should I just replace??

Strange issue with heater blower
Hi guys the car has developed an issue with the heater blower. So the blower just stopped working on all numbers one morning so I assumed a fuse or motor kaput. But the following morning after sitting the motor was working on number 3 and 4. But it started to die off as if somebody was messing with a plug (hope this makes sense) and then it just stopped and wouldn't work. This happened 2 mornings instead row so I foolishly assumed the heater resistor. So I replaced it with a genuine valeo on from my local autoparts and best off all you can see where they have marked out the vag logo and vag part number. Any ways this hasn't solved my problem and the fan is just dead completely now. So is it going to be the motor or do I need to look elsewhere? I did read somewhere if there was a clicking type noise from the gearbox area its the motor that's kaput. But if had the clicking noise (which isn't constant) for sometime. But any help much appreciated guys.

Need wiring loom part number
Hi guys I'm looking to see ifbanyone can help me our with part numbers. I was looking for the blown up diagram thr dealers sort of use to try and trace the part but I can never find it and if I do its not the right one. So I have had an ongoing issue in regards to the coolant temp sensor. I had replaced both before and still had the issue which turned out to be a broken wire. So fast forward until now and it's reappeared. It was left in for the auto spark who changed the sensor again he said it was full of oil he has done this twice now and the light stays off for 24 hours and comes back on. I added a bottle oil leak stop as I think there was a small weep at thr edge of the block and it seems to have worked as it seems dry. Anyway I'm now assuming either the repair has broken or there's another break in the wire so I'm wondering if thr loom which the coolant sensor wire is part off is easily swapped out (just unplug no splicing) and if anyone can give me a part number to be armed with for tps ??

Reliability of high mileage 1.6 tdi
High guys so time has come to let the 1.6 tdi superb hatch I have go. She's just so tired atm and not worth trying to sort for an mot in next couple of months. I had plans to travel over to UK mainland to try to get something with a bit of luxury. Anything in Northern Ireland seems to be poverty spec and anything with a drop of luxury seems to be well over priced. So I've saw a superb estate 1.6 tdi with over 150k miles which it has a towbar which I'm after too. But my question is how reliable is thr 1.6 tdi non greenline with 150+k miles . Yes my own one has 330+ miles but she was taxied and sort of looked after. I'm on tight budget atm and need to replace the car we have. So any help much appreciated guys especially for things to look out for when I go to view it.
