  1. Looks really nice - I’ve been lurking around here with my 2017 280 Sportline. Not posting much but gathering a wealth of info from the forum- thanks everyone. Had mine for just over a year now and still loving it. On the wheels front I managed to damage one of my tyres on the original 19” on a drain grate very soon after getting the car, ended up swapping out to 18” all round and have felt a lot less nervous given the state of our potholed roads ever since.
  2. My MY 2016 190 diesel estate had exactly the same issue on P7s (L&K on 235/45 18), but a switch to Hankooks up front mainly fixed it. My current Sportline is on All Season Michelin’s, 245/45 18 - tyre is just proud of the rim to give some protection. Mine is on genuine “platinum” Zenith 18” instead of the factory 19s with 235/40.
  3. Looking really nice, all the same sort of prep we did before letting the kids anywhere near. Those genuine rubber mats are particularly hard wearing, kept them from my first Superb, so over 4 years and no sign of wear. Don’t forget to get a genuine warning triangle if you haven’t already got one, very cheap from Superskoda and usually missing from the handy little stowage compartment. I’ve got black badges and letters to do on mine, as soon as it gets above 15degrees. Mines pre-facelift, so silver lettering. Going to do away with “Skoda” lettering on the left, and put Superb there, with 4x4 at the same height on the right, as per facelift. Was also hoping to get an alcantara front centre armrest cover with white stitching, but they are out of stock, and I can’t find anywhere else that does them 😢
  4. I have that wheel too Mario, waiting to be fitted. I’m just trying to work out whether I need to disconnect the battery to do it? I have the correct spline socket and replacement nut to do it. Other concern is if you don’t disconnect the battery, how do you stop the horn sounding when you clip the airbag back in? Should be a lot warmer than the standard leather wheel on these cold winter mornings though.
  5. At least they might not corrode as badly as the standard wheel caps
  6. I have Park Assist on my 2017 Sportline, not sure what it cost as an option when new but would’ve preferred the original owner to have specified Lane Assist or Blind spot monitoring instead. Don’t know whether having it makes that easier to retro-fit those two, but I’m not sure whether I have the required front camera. Even heated seats would’ve been more useful (is -7 degrees out there tonight) but they’re not really essential with the alcantara seats. Used Park Assist once in a year of ownership. Is a bit of a gimmick - merrily twirling the steering wheel by itself.
  7. "rear-round" should've been "year-round", but can't seem to find the option to edit a post
  8. From my own research I would agree with the advice above, and have just fitted 4 x Michelin Cross Climate+ to my 280. I also invested in some 18" Zenith "Platinum" (Grey) wheels for Winter, but may end up keeping them on rear-round. Early days but definitely noticeably quieter than the Pirelli P7s on the 19s, will report back on all round performance in due course. K***-F** tyres in the UK have 15% off these at the moment plus some free headphones, that was the best deal I could find. Pics to follow
  9. I was lucky enough to find a 2017 Skoda approved Sportline hatch with DCC just pre-lockdown at a lot less than that money - although with 35,000 miles. Very glad of both the DCC and 4x4 after having previously leased a 2016 L&K Diesel estate. The previous car used to spin the front wheels at the slightest sniff of damp road surfaces. I knew I wanted DCC, and if you're in the mood it transforms a comfortable cruiser into a real corner eater, honestly I've been driving for more than 30 years had VWs, BMW, Volvo, Fords, even ordered one of the first Chrysler 300Cs in the UK, this is without doubt the best car I've ever owned! Only thing missing in my opinion is a more melodic engine sound, but that's just a sign of the times I suppose. When new, there's a real dilemma on the options lists - if you're leasing, you'll pay handsomely for each non-standard option, usually the full cost over your lease period, so if DCC was say £750, the first owner would pay £250 per year on their 3 year lease. I optioned the variable boot floor on my previous estate, that was well worthwhile in the end. So when you're looking at used, there's generally either DCC or Canton, or Heated Seats or Sunroof, but rarely all of them. On the Canton front, my Sportline doesn't have it, the L&K did, but once you've tweaked the sound settings it's not a disaster. Bonus is that you get some decent large storage bins either side of the boot where the subwoofer would've been - ideal for all those wine / beer / spirits bottles to be kept upright The other problem is avoiding an original sale price of over £40k, as you'll then be in the higher VED bracket until the car is over 5 years old. Good luck with the search.
  10. Thanks. Looks great! Especially the black on white. Is the round badge one of the ones from Superskoda - they're advertised as front only, but I've read some say that they fit the bootlid fine too. You say the letters were easy - did you just do one at a time or peel them all off together. Sorry for all the questions! Cheers
  11. Can you post some pics of the new badges when you get a chance - I've got black ones on order from Superskoda myself, plus one of the colour coded round ones. My thought was to omit the Skoda lettering and just do Superb on the right of the boot lid. Not sure whether to just delete the 4x4 too - for even more of the sleeper look. Decisions decisions!
  12. Sorry Skud, I'm not sure whether I should've ripped my cds in a certain way to get gapless - but would be interested to see if you get a fix - be nice to hear albums like The Beatles - Abbey Road without the annoying gaps!
