Thanks moley for your reply oh rite I see funny you mention a glass mounted areial as the young fella from halfords advised me away from the glass mounted ones he said they don't pick up as good of signal as a roof mounted one he offered me a magnetic one but I was put off it as the wire would have to run outside the car so the only other option he said was to replace the standard octavia areial with a dab one that bolts into the existing areial hole which I guess the whole headlining has to come out which I'm a bit sceptical off

Hello just bought a dab cd player new today from halfords it's a kenwood bt710dab I was after a bit of advise as to how to go about getting the dab part working the guy from the store told me I need a new updated areial is this correct and has any one ever fitted one to there octavia mk1 many thanks

Hello there i had the same trouble with a mk 2 octavia i currently have the mk1 post 2001 best way to bleed the system is with a pressure bleeder i bought a sealey vs820 and to be honest its the best money ive spent no hassle also if you can get the abs pump activated via diagnostic software all the better you could try activate the abs pumpby driving on some loose screenings/stones this could release some traped air in the abs pump then rebleed but get yourself the pressure bleeder you wont be disappointed hope that helps

+1 would love to see also

Excellent nige8021 thank you for that cheers

Hey all just an update got the car all finished up today used the copy delphi scanner and waow id recommend to anyone who needs to bleed the abs pump great piece of equipment for very cheap money compared to vcds and so on big thanks also to MICMAC for your help.brakes have never been as good also the sealey vs820 is a must i should of bought one years ago no more pumping at brake or clutch pedals for £44 is defaintly worth buying hope this helps someone PS the amount of air that gets trapped in the abs pump is unbeliveable firstly i blead the system with pressure bleeder like normal open bleeders ect until there was no air plugged in the diagnostic scanner and done the abs bleed process there really does be quite a bit of air in that pump cheers everyone

Micmac yes as you say must work magneticly as it just bolts to the side of the master cylinder did you bench bleed yours
-
All of the above also i would recomend check throttle pedal and cruise controll switch if aplicable atached to the clutch pedal and brake light switch but as the other guys say try colant temp first and timing
-
02 1.9tdi ALH ambiente octavia sitting at 218,868 here going like a watch touch wood so farlol i love these motors
