Oil level sump sensor leaking on 1.6 FSI, seal or sensor?
Hi Pete I found out through Skoda garage my engine code is BLF. I have ordered the part through skoda as it was £5 all in and will arrive next day. I hope this fixes the leak, I hope to update you all once the seal is changed. Thanks again for your offer.

Oil level sump sensor leaking on 1.6 FSI, seal or sensor?
I will check engine code and let you know if the o ring is the right one. Also I will be researching the breather system tonight and will try to look at it tomorrow. Might be a simple fix, fingers crossed 👍

Oil level sump sensor leaking on 1.6 FSI, seal or sensor?
Thanks Brezzy Pete. garage inspected the area and said switch not leaking and looks to be from the seal. the oil level sensor I don’t think has ever been replaced, at least not since I have had the car in the last 6 years. car has done 110k miles. the breather system you mention sounds interesting. how easy is it to check? can I do this myself from the top of the engine bay?

Oil level sump sensor leaking on 1.6 FSI, seal or sensor?
Had MOT advisory say that oil sensor in sump is leaking a little bit. Not excessive but worth keeping an eye on to replace sooner than later. Garage said looks to be the seal and not a leaking sensor so if I can get just the seal/washer that may solve it. Does anyone know what the Skoda VW part number would be? Also is a separate washer/seal needed? Any advice would be great Thanks

Thanks J.R btw in terms of brake fluid cap, is finger tight the correct tension or should it be over tightened?

Skoda Octavia 1.6 fsi new front pads, brake fluid cap loose, spongy
My Skoda Octavia 1.6 Fsi had new front pads today at my local garage. As my old pads were quite worn down to last couple of mm. Picking up the car and driving off, the brake pedal felt a tiny bit soft and spongy compared to previous. Got home and decided the check under the bonnet. I discovered the brake fluid reservoir lid was loose and not tight. So I screwed the cap finger tight. Is it possible for any air to get in if the brake fluid cap was not fully closed or tight? I will call my garage tomorrow, usually they are very good so not sure what is happening

Skoda Octavia Mk2 1.6FSI L&K driver window not working
Just an update for anyone who may be following or interested. I called the car electrician back as I discovered the big red/white lead was disconnected. Likely this had corroded and no power going to the window. Also means this diagnosis was missed on first inspection. They did a small temporary fix. See picture below. They cut into the plug and soldered a joining lead to the pin and that to the red/white wire. Not sure how long it will hold. However my plan is to buy the closest wiring loom secondhand that has the same plug so I can replace it by soldering or using a mini choc block.

Skoda Octavia Mk2 1.6FSI L&K driver window not working
Hi all The driver window on my Octavia 1.6 FSI L&K was intermittent then stopped working. However I can still control all other windows from the driver door switch panel. Not sure how or why but does. I had an auto electrician diagnose it as a faulty motor (regulator) by plugging it in. He checked all electrical plugs that meet the body of the car, which looked ok. I got a replacement window motor, which I changed myself watching YouTube videos. I was pleased I was able to change it, as once I had the panel tools it wasn’t a hard job. Unfortunately this hasn’t fixed the problem, which suggests it wasn’t the motor/regulator. I then had a good look at all the door plugs and discovered the big red wire was loose. I have had the auto electrician come back and he resoldered the red wire to the black plug. However this still hasn’t worked. The error now shown on the diagnostic is attached. 00932 - electric window motor (v147) 012- electrical fault in circuit I was wondering if anyone has had this before or can suggest what I could try to fix it. the auto electrician suggestion is to get a secondhand wiring harness and then use the black plug to resolder all leads to the existing harness, as better than trying to replace the whole harness in the door panel. Also do you think there is possible corrosion within the plug wiring on the car frame side? Any suggestions welcomed. thanks

What is this
Hi there Found this post and photo, I was wondering what is the middle black plug with the thick red and brown wire? my gut says it Is power to the window motor? How would I go about repining the thick red wire as mine looks like oxidisation (blue) and is loose? Or do they sell the black pin block? Any info on part number or size of pins would be really helpful Many thanks
