  1. Ah lovely thank you. Wife may be luckier then and get hers much earlier than my fabia. Just waiting on my salesman to get back from his holiday for an update but helpful to compare.
  2. Ah thanks so about the same then. I haven’t hear from the dealer about a build week so need to press them for an update. At least a build date gives some sense it’s going to happen !
  3. Hi all Ive asked in both sections so sorry for duplicating but I ordered a Kamiq SE 110 tsi end July as well as Fabia 1.5 Monte Carlo. Dealer gave vague estimates of 7 months so February but just trying to see how accurate this is knowing reports of improvements but others saying even longer. For those ordering a similar point were you told the same on lead times? TIA
  4. Hi all I ordered a fabia 1.5 Monte Carlo and kamiq se in July and can’t get any idea of lead times other than dealer saying next February, so 7 months. Anyone have more information on current situation as I’ve read situation improving with senior conductors etc. If ordered recently what have you been told? TIA
  5. Hi there Really sorry if I've missed out instructions on how to check version and how to update.I can see lots of threads and it looks like my software version is really old as it says software 1230. I can't use my new phone on AA so wanted to update it. I can't figure out how to update this. Does anyone have a link to software and how to update. Thanks in advance and sorry if I've missed all this in my searches.
  6. I wonder if it can be activated by using OBD eleven professional edition and long coded that way ? Might be worth a look before anything else more expensive?
  7. I agree it's a pain. Blame the GDPR laws that means this can't be turned off in case it's a new driver in the car each time it's started and SKODA legally forced to establish data sharing consent.
  8. Tyres will certainly quieten things but road noise is a serious weakness if the car. My wife's Kamiq has much better noise insulation. Lots of threads on here about using noise insulation. I used noise killer in the boot and that made a massive difference to road noise on its own.
  9. Don't forget the loud tyre noise, higher replacement cost and worse ride as well I didn't have DCC which would improve rode but all the drawbacks on the end outweighed the fact car looks so much better on 19's to me. I never liked the design of 18's and look lost on arches. Go for it 👍
  10. I'll second that. Tyres are like rubber bands and I've lost a few tyres from potholes!
  11. I had it done and asked about the filter. Service guy read though all the parts he had ordered and looked it up on the system and insisted it did not have a filter. Car going on Sunday so couldn't be bothered arguing the toss🙄
  12. Okay. Was hoping to avoid as waiting on a delayed new car.
  13. Thanks but do I have to do it at such low mileage?
  14. My car is 3 years old and only done 1500 miles. Currently waiting on a delayed new car but likely I’ll swop in next few months. Can I wait to have this done or is it essential I do it now?
  15. Looks like the semiconductor shortage will last into rest of the year so you will be fine 👍
  16. 😆 Thanks both. I'll tell my pal it's a score draw!
  17. Hi all I can't see this in the search so sorry if this has been answered before. To settle an argument can anyone confirm if the Vrs 245 power output is based on using minimum 98 Ron and not 95? I think it's been measured by Skoda using 98 Ron. Ta muchly.
  18. Ha yes once i decided that was it, especially with the offer on thevRs that was too good to turn down. Sorry to be leaving the Skoda fold again for my car but wife has a Kamiq as family car so staying around (and has a roofbox on the few occasions we need the space). Power wise BMW is faster but not that much in reality despite power differences. Its just such a more lively and fun experience in the way it drives and the diff really feels much more active in corners than the vRS and the smaller size left me feeling much more confident along fast winding B roads. The interior quality a big step up too. You're right about the boot of course and nothing to match the vRS. Thanks for all the advice 😁👍
  19. Well dilemma solved. Just put deposit on BMW 128ti. What a car and all the excitement I would ever need and the amazing positive equity in the vRS icing on the cake.
  20. Yes thanks all i can see a Fiesta ST has over 6 month lead time now. Definitely looks a bad time to buy a new car with the semiconductor crisis. Stage 1 looks like it will bring 300hp upwards which is leon cupra territory before i try non vag cars next year as car will be up on its PCP then.
  21. Thanks all. Really helpful food for thought. I had a polo gti 1.8 and loved that and it although not the fastest was more fun than having more straight line power. I used to have a fiesta red edition with only 140hp but it was a joy to throw about. I tried mk7 fiesta ST but it made my kids feel sick as it pogoed down the road. Apparently mk8 more rounded and the noise it makes appeals as does go kart handling. I do so few miles now that a hard ride seems a decent compromise. Mind you my 245 has no DCC and some of the reviews complain its too hard and I think its soft!
  22. Thanks all. Yes definitely need something smaller. I have good equity in the car and I think its the size now I notice. I had a Leon FR before this and although much smaller and slower felt more agile. I like the idea of a small hot hatch like ST but I don't think I couldn't bring myself to have a Fiesta as its an all or nothing car and think the hard ride would get on my nerves after a while. Does more power bring more excitement or just speed? Vrs fast enough just a bit too planted and insulated to feel exciting.
  23. Ah so a definite difference. Which Cupra did you have?
  24. Hi all As a family all-rounder my 245 is brilliant and hard to fault. However wife has a Kamiq now which seems ample for family duties now kids are older. Im only using vrs to drop kids at school and apart from occasional motorway run mostly a and b road driving so dont need a sensible fast car and craving more excitement. Car almost too stable to be that fun. Im not keen on remap as still have warranty. Is it now that fast cars are so stable that less fun are there more fun alternatives. Never drove leon cupra or golf gti so are it's less sensible sister cars more fun or similar. Am I just having a mid life crisis 😆
