  1. Take egr out and take the lid off the egr and you'll see the problem as video shows.
  2. cega engine? I have the same setup, egr at front of engine with throttle flap bolted underneath it, non censored cooler at back of engine. Take the black lid off the top of the egr (5/6 torx), then inside you'll access the motor etc. You'll see another 5/6 torx, undo them then you'll find more gunk that's making the valve stay stuck open. Cleaning just what you can see in your picture won't solve it. Strip apart and you'll see the problem straight away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udXmu-CNScM
  3. Mines getting done 2nd time around this weekend with gates kit which cost me £134 and £150 to do it by mechanic. Car is on 213,000 miles
  4. Just turned over the 200,000 mile mark. Had it's 1st clutch and DMF change at 198,000 miles and finally replaced springs all round as they've sank 20mm or so. DPF still in place and working fine though. Still going strong
  5. Audi Do Nicely ET - 51 18" 8.5J A3 alloys exact fit. Make sure you get Audi wheels from an A3 and not an A4 if you decide to get some as the A4 ET is much lower.
  6. Swirl flap motor shutting air off to the engine then resetting itself 2/3 times. Perfectly normal.
  7. Pretty sure bonnet emblems are slightly curved. Maybe certain boot badges could work
  8. As above...56/60mm skoda centre caps with wheel nut caps only option out I'm afraid. Going through the same process with audi wheels on my car.
  9. Snap. Happens worse when it's a hot day like today. It's the seals.
  10. 7.5j x 18 ET51 Audi A3 wheels. Exact size as original Neptune’s. My original wheels sadly a bit square after 189,000 miles hence I bought these. New skoda centre caps on way.
  11. Biggest headache I’ve had was turbo actuator going at 140,000. Apart from that and new glow plugs everything still original. I do service it every 9000 miles and fly through tires doing 21,000 (average) miles a year.
  12. You say the coolant temp sensor has been changed so rule that out. Obviously as the temp rises in the engine you would expect the water temp gauge on your dash to rise!? Does it? As simple as this sounds, the two prongs inside the coolant tank can build up with grime, thinking the coolant is empty therefore setting off the radiator fans. So to start ruling out problems starting with the simplest first I would clean the two prongs in the coolant tank by scraping off the grime with a flat head screwdriver reaching in. (Done this myself because I had low coolant light coming on even though it was full). Also could be thermostat not opening (but would show light on dash). Mine after 188,000 miles always a bit rough from cold lol so can’t answer that one. Could be stuck on a regeneration which on our older cars will keep trying to regenerate regardless of cold starts and attempts. Personally if my car, clean prongs in coolant tank first (easy job). Drive for at least 30 mins or more if you can quite harsh (with over 1/4 tank) or even more if you can to trigger a regen (even though it’s probably trying to do one). If it was me, check coolant, check oil, fill up over half , take car for a blast for an hour, to rule out blocked dpf.
  13. I know there's tons of octavia's out there with astrological mileage, but who has the highest VRS MK2? Diesel or Petrol. I'm currently on 188,600 (I average 21,000 miles a year) Any high VRS's here?
  14. @Tezza2020 It's a VAG thing, plenty of threads about this issue. Here's one linked with vw and audi forums, it's normal. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=86&t=1424280
