  1. Hi, What platform does the Roomster use in terms of VAG-Com - is it the Fabia version or the new Octy version? Thanks
  2. hi, just installed my icelink but not really sure how it works as it came with no instructions. is text supported on the stream hu? what cd button corresponds with what? Thanks
  3. Yes I would buy another one. Want a vRS next! Reliable and comfortable car and I've been lucky in that any minor problems have been sorted by the dealer quickly and free of charge.
  4. Thanks very much! Excuse me being thick but by phone prep do you mean that you have the active cradle thing or whatever it is? Guess it doesn't really matter cos I haven't got one so its the one you have I need me thinks. Thanks again!
  5. Sorry - also could anyone tell me the size of the faceplate of the MFD2? Just out of curiosity. Thanks
  6. Hi, Just had a look at the MFD2 install guide on VRStu's website (am looking to purchase one soon) and was wondering what the difference is between these parts? 1Z0 858 069 C 9B9 - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system satin black -
  7. I don't suppose you know where I can find this post do you? I've beentrawling the net looking for an answer for weeks!
  8. OK. Having received my icelink and looked at the connector im pretty confident i can make some sort of pcb for the 2 connectors from the changer and the icelink with a switch built into it and a cable coming out of the switch to the hu. Only problem is i don't really know what needs to be disconnected to when switchin between the two - obviously the left and right audio signals but what else? anyone hae any ideas? also, anyone know the part number of the cd changer plug (if they can be bought separately that is)?
  9. My father got his Roomi 3 in December. He got the big diesel engine and loves it. His previous 'car' was a peugeot partner and he told me the roomi doesn't feel van like at all to him - and I have to agree myself having now driven both. Its an MPV so its not going to be like driving a vrs but its definitely a comfortable and extremely versatile car. he has nothing but praise for it.
  10. I have a 1.6FSI Octy Elegance and its great. Comfortable yet affordable, economical but quick when you need it to be. Highly recommended!
  11. Even my 1.6FSI feels more responsive and quick on RON 99. Also, the car seems to idle more smoothly when I'm stationary. I only ever use the expensive stuff now - well worth the extra few pennies in my opinion. No noticeable difference on fuel economy though.
  12. I too would recommend Neil Robinson. He let me view a car that had come in the morning I went up, even though it was in a disgusting state and had several broken bits inside. He got the car valeted and washed quickly so that I could look at it properly. He kept the car for a couple of weeks while got money ready even though I didn't have a full deposit. Oh, and when I went to pick the car up and didn't have all my documents for finance the finance bloke offered to follow me home to collect the documents as he had originally told me I didn't need them. I bought my 54 plate Octy Elegance from Neil and he was extremely helpful and even now when I go in he remembers my name and asks about the car (and my fathers Roomi that he also bought from him). I found a couple of problems in the first few weeks and have had a courtesy car each time I have taken the car in to the service department - great service. Can't fault them! Not yet anyway!
  13. I've seen a couple of posts on here regarding this issue but was wondering if anyone has actually done this modification (i.e. a switch that will swap between ipod and cd changer). Also, is there a part that will act as a socket for the CD changer plug as I don't really want to cut any cables if I go ahead and would rather just extend the circuits with a switch assembly that has sockets for both the ipod and changer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  14. I'll take 2 please - payment on its way via paypal
  15. I don't know if they can supply the body kit but they certainly do the rest of the Octavia UK accessory catalogue: Grasmere Skoda Main Menu
  16. Hi, Was looking through the Octy accessories catalogue today and was wondering if anyone had had the front and/or rear bumper spoilers installed? Basically, my question is can you fit them yourself or do you need to take your car in? And what would the cost be roughly? I have rear parking sensors and the one pictured doesn't show them. Thanks
  17. I agree with that but my birthday is coming up and I fancied a treat . I've gone through a lot of screenwash these last few months and been checking oil weekly and it would be nice not to get so dirty when doing these little but frequent tasks.
  18. Hi, I saw a post on here a good few months back about gas bonnet struts for the Octy II but it seemed to just die. I was just wondering if anyone has actually fitted any and if so, how easy they were to fit, what modifications they needed to make to fit them and where they got them from (what price as well)? Cheers
  19. I had this problem with my passenger side rear quarterlight recently and the dealer replaced the glass and seal under warranty which has fixed the problem. However, when I was taking the car home from the garage down the motorway I discovered a similar problem with the driver side so it has been booked in again for later this month to have this fixed, under warranty as well. Just ask your dealer, it seems to be a common problem with the Octy.
  20. My father ordered one a couple of days after he saw it on the launch day - its a Roomster 3 with maxi-dot, TPM, etc. Anyway, it came into our dealers yesterday so we went down to look at it today and its really nice. Its anthracite grey and this colour looks just like the BMW dark grey, making the car look more expensive. Hes picking it up next tuesday as our salesman is away on holidays this week so I'll keep you posted when he gets it.
  21. funnily enough I changed mine last weekend. one of my bulbs went so i spent ages trying to find upgrade H8 bulbs on the net and at halfords and all I could find were the ones above so I had to just buy standard from my dealer (I thing halfords had some too though). But yes they definitely are H8...and you'll need a star screwdriver to remove the driver side lamp (well I had to on my elegance anyway) because theres a tow-bar atatchment thing in the way behind the grille. On the other side its simple - you just pull the grille away, reach around, twist the bulb and pull it out. Its fairly easy anyways and the full switch took under 5 minutes.
  22. Thanks for the help - I managed to change all the bulbs on the weekend (even the foglights) - albeit in the rain - but the headlights are in line with how they were before and now slide in and out easily when I want them to. Thanks guys!
  23. Hi, I bought a full set of Osram Silverstar bulbs for my octy and followed the instruction to remove the headlamp on the passenger side just fine but the driver side headlamp only moves forward slightly when i pull the lever and doesnt seem to release properly. Am I doing something wrong? Also, when I put the passenger headlamp back it seems to be sitting lower in the hole than it was before? Please help! Thank you
  24. I don't agree with that last reply - aftermarket speakers are always a breth of fresh air when installed (or always have been for me). I have an Alpine HU I'm waiting to install but I need a surround for the fascia which has been ordered. I guess noone knows where the extra Elegance speakers are?
